The Sebel Quay West Suites Sydney garners praise for its attentive service and prime location, making it a hit with guests keen to explore Sydney. The well-maintained and immaculate suites with full kitchens and stunning views stand out, although some visitors suggest that the decor could use a refresh.

Spent last weekend at this Hotel and cannot give it a single fault. I stayed as part of a work/ leisure trip and was extremely happy with my choice of staying here for the first time. My mother and I stayed in the 2 bedroom/ 2 bathroom renovated Harbour/ Opera House view apartment. The view was unexplainable and absolutely stunning! It completely blew mum and my own minds out of the box! We spent the whole latter night just marveling at Sydney’s picturesque and trademark harbour line, something that cannot be offered anywhere else on earth. We had apartment 2304. Perfectly high, nicely renovated and very spacious apartment. I was hoping to use the bath, but time wasn’t permitting this time round. Esra, a true hero of this venue was of great service and made sure my weekend was smooth and effortless. This hotel is smack bang in the middle of The Shangri-La and Four Seasons. They are the ‘big 3’, but this hotel feels different to the usual. It’s definitely not as intimidating as a typical 5 star hotel given it’s a very quiet foyer and not too much foot traffic at any time of the day, which I actually preferred. It felt more like a classy apartment complex for well heeled residents. The foyer entrance and street itself is pitched in a small Cul-de-sac so it’s never a busy thoroughfare street for cars. This also must be mentioned. I had the pleasure of meeting a few permanent residents of the building, and were absolutely lovely. So overall, do yourself a favor and save yourself some extra money to pay for the opera house and harbour view apartments. You will never forget the view and experience of Sydney’s prime scenic spot!
Regards Pete

These suites were faultless. We stayed in a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom deluxe suite with awesome harbour bridge and opera house views. Nothing was too much trouble for any member of staff at Sebel. The suites were cleaned on a daily basis, with a change of sheets and towels. The cleaners even put on the dishwasher. Breakfast was good and I do not understand the negative comments re coffee and only one cup. You could have as much coffee or tea at breakfast as you wished and in addition one barista coffee which is perfectly acceptable and fair. The breakfast choices were numerous. Staff were very pleasant. Happy Hour was great. The suites were primarily sited in The Rocks with lots of restaurants, bars and pubs and Circular Quay ferries and trams.. There is a small convenience store next door but can be very expensive and prices appeared to change daily. Overall I would not hesitate to stay here again.

Our family of 5 stayed here for 2 nights in a harbour view 2 bedroom suite. The views were amazing, overlooking the harbour bridge, opera house and the overseas passenger terminal, we watched the different cruise ships come in each morning. The two rooms had king size beds then there was a fold out lounge for our daughter in the living area. 2 bathrooms was great with 5 of us and there was also a washing machine/dryer in the room as well as a full kitchenette. The swimming pool was excellent again with fantastic views. Reception staff were very helpful and check in/check out was quick and easy. We had breakfast in the restaurant each morning, there was plenty of choice for all family members. We signed up as accor members and received a free bottle of wine too.

We booked a room at The Sebel Quay West Suites Sydney well in advance requesting a quiet room away from the lifts. The room was neither of these. We had multiple promises to correct things including a complimentary bottle of wine. Nothing materialise. Steep stairs to the pool and a lack of railings to get to the spa was another blow.

Our travel agent booked this for us specifically because of its location in Sydney and it was an apartment with laundry facilities which we needed at the midpoint of our holiday in Australia. On arrival the receptionist put us in a bad mood with her attitude. Our first impression of the apartment was how worn and tired everything was. According to the hotel our agent had booked us an un-refurbished room, although our agent has no paperwork to that effect. James, the hotel manager met with us and did everything he could to smooth the situation. This is a very brief summary of our email exchange with the hotel manager.

Plenty of better options for the same price elsewhere.
Booked a 10 day extended stay at the Sebel Quay Suites which boasted 'Newly Refurbished' rooms. Upon checking in, the first thing I noticed is the musky smell of stale air as well as how hot and humid the room is. Not a pleasant experience to walk into after a long flight and checking in. This is not what I expect when I book a 'Newly Refurbished' room for $500 per night.
Attempting to remove the musky smell, I turned on the air conditioner which resulted in a constant disturbing rumbling noise, as well as the plumbing in the walls sounding like you've booked a trip to the Niagara Falls.
After one night I expressed my disappointment to the staff as I could not sleep with the excess noise and had paid over $5000 which was mandatory to be paid in full before checking in. They told me there is no refunds, just deal with it.
Despite forfeiting $5000, I checked out after 1 night of terrible sleep and found much better accomodation elsewhere and for a cheaper price.

Dear Mr Lander, Thank you for taking the time to provide detailed feedback about your recent stay at Sebel Quay West Suites. We are truly sorry to hear that your experience in room 1208 did not meet your expectations. We sincerely apologise for the issues you encountered, including the air conditioning and musky smell in the room. It is disappointing to hear about your experience because this apartment is in fact one of our refurbished apartment with a partial Harbour Bridge view. After investigating further with my team, I have noted that once you have expressed your disappointment with the room, they have offered you a room move which was declined. Also our manager on duty has offered you to keep the remaining nights of your reservation as a credit for future use, valid for a year. This decision has been made as a gesture of goodwill and considering the issues you have experienced because you have booked your room on a Prepaid rate which clearly states it is non-refundable and non-cancellable. These Prepaid rates are cheaper than Flexible rates where you can cancel the booking up to 6pm the day before of your arrival and are fully refundable. Your feedback is invaluable in helping us improve, and we hope to welcome you back in the future to utilise your credit on file and to experience a refreshed and improved stay. Kind regards, James Ferguson General Manager

We had the great pleasure to stay in a one bedroom apartment for six nights at the Sebel Quay West in Sydney. This building is in a prime location between the Shangri-La and Four Seasons Hotels in the Rocks section of the city. The 'tap-on, tap off' city tram system runs just a block away on George Street, while the bars and restaurants of The Rocks neighborhood are within walking distance.
The view from our room's balcony was mesmerizing. We were treated to the Harbor Bridge, a new cruise ship every day at the pier (they typically arrive a 5am and depart about 6pm), the constant bustle of ferries at Circular Quay, and a stunning view of the Opera House. And don't forget about seeing the large flying fox bats in search of fruit every evening at sunset.
Our 11th floor room was comfortable, modern, and efficient. We found the full kitchen to be well stocked with pots, pans, and utensils that made it easy to bring back 'left overs' or buy local fruits at "Paddy's Market". But somehow, we need to buy our own paper towels to cleaning up spills.
We can't overstate the convivence of have a washer and dryer in the apartment on a multi-week overseas trip.
The daily breakfast in the small hotel restaurant was delightful. A small buffet offered yogurt, cereals, crossiants, fruit, and juices. But you could order a hearty warm breakfast at no extra charge
Highly, highly recommended.

Stunning 2 bedroom apartment with waterfront wharf view from balcony. Great facilities on site , pool , gym, Woolworths supermarket only 5 mins walk away. Kitchenette so well equipped , with separate utility area for washing clothes in apartment. Master king bedroom is huge with walk in dressing room and large ensuite shower. Second double bedroom has ceiling to floor window views of waterfront/ wharf area , and we were on 11 th floor so views were just outstanding. Lifts to all floors and recycling areas on each floor too. We liked the secure under cover car park attached to building , with key gob access to lift barrier at entrance , helpful you could access internally straight from the apartments. Highly recommend Waterfront Wharf Apartments we will be back.

The hotel is in an excellent location, with easy access to everything Sydney has to offer. We had a city view but were able to see the Harbour Bridge. It was helpful to have a washer and dryer and good that sachets of washing powder were provided. It’s wasn’t the height of luxury and not particularly modern but it was quiet, clean, centrally located and the pool was a real bonus, with a small viewing terrace and a couple of sunbeds. Reception staff were polite but didn’t engage with us at all and tended to be a bit vague if we asked a question, eg, about the cost of a taxi to the airport and how long it would take. When we checked out, we weren’t asked if we’d enjoyed our stay. All in all a good base from which to enjoy wonderful Sydney.

We recently stayed at the Sebel West Quay for 3 nights after disembarking a cruise. The hotel was in walking distance from the port and in a great location for the ferries, Opera house and Harbour Bridge. On checking in we were upgraded to a 2 bedroom suite which was very spacious, everything you need inc washer/dryer but the jewel in the crown was the amazing view. I would definitely stay here again without a doubt.

Stayed again at this magnificent property last month. All renovations in the foyer have been completed. Their restaurant is fully operational serving breakfast and dinner. Alas we did not eat on site on this trip not enough time so I cannot say for certain about the pancake maker. Staff here go out of their way to assist so I’m sure they can accommodate limitless pancaked yummmm
There are more places to choose from in the Sydney area.
