I stayed for one night at Swissôtel Sydney on 27-28 Feb 2021. I was upgraded from the standard room (Premier Room) to a Swiss Advantage room, the next level up, which was very nice. Being right in the middle of Sydney CBD, the location is perfect! The QVB Light Rail station is just around the corner, and access to public transport (especially if you're catching the airport rail) is easy. Very pleased with the amenities in the room. It is clear that the hotel has been refurbished in the last few years as the fittings are modern, simple and well designed. There was some minor signs of wear and tear if you look closely and an ugly exposed service panel in the bathroom (!), but didn't detract from the overall standard of the hotel. Some room amenities have been withdrawn including the mini-bar, cushions and brochures, due to COVID-19 precautions. These are unavoidable due to the current hygiene measures, but some guests may find their absence unacceptable. At least my room had a Nespresso coffee machine which I always appreciate! My only minor gripe is that some sections of the hotel seemed to struggle to keep the temperature to an acceptable level on a hot and humid weekend. Also, the lifts were very slow at times and many people had to queue for them during peak times due to physical distancing. Service was friendly and impeccable at all times. Hopefully the hotel will return its usual amenities in the near future. You can't beat the location and overall package!…
After staying at the brand new Swissotel Jakarta in December 2019, Swissotel to celebrate late Valentine's day with my partner who lives interstate. Guess what? We loved our stay. I would like to thank Maggie and Yuz from the Reservations team for looking after our booking and making sure it was seamless. You guys rock! The suite room was so beautiful and spacious. We stayed in room 1613 next to the lifts but trust me we couldn't hear anything from our bedroom except at the time when we used the toilet :-) We were welcomed by Katrina on arrival and assisted by Sally on departure at the Front Desk. Both ladies were efficient, professional, friendly and helpful. Not to forget Thiago was so kind as well. Last but not least, thanks for going above and beyond Susmita from the Executive Lounge. You're always ready to assist us. We highly recommend anyone looking to stay at the heart of Sydney to book your stay at Swissotel. Location wise is so strategic close to the Trem and Town Hall trains. Westfield and the nearby big dept stores are just steps away. Book directly on their website, become an Accor member and you'll be looked after like a royal. …
Have just returned from a wonderful weekend celebrating my brothers 50th Birthday at the Swissotel in Sydney. As a group of 13 people, management and staff were exceptional in making our stay enjoyable and memorable and a particular mention to the front desk manager and Himanshu for providing special attention to our group and making our dining experience a seamless one. Much appreciated.
I had some personal business to take care of that I have been trying to do for over 6 months thanks to the border closures, which was very stressful. I wanted to stay somewhere 'nice' and paid a premium for my room. The least I would expect for a 5 star hotel at this price is a complimentary bottle of water in the room upon arrival but sadly there was not. There was a card inviting me to enjoy the snacks and refreshments from the minibar. But there was no minibar, it had all been removed. I am one of those that does utilise the free tea and coffee in the room. I quite look forward to a cup of tea first thing in the morning, but for the standard of this hotel, I expected something a little better than "Aurora" brand teabags which is normally found in highway motels! It is vile stuff and it would appear this is a cost saving measure, which is not appreciated when one is paying $255 for a room. There was no book in the room with a room service menu for drinks or food (other than a note advising me I could look online) so I had no idea what was on offer and thus took my business elsewhere. After staring into a computer all morning, I did not want to have to do this again just to find a room service menu. There was a TV menu advising me of all the cable channels available, but sadly, there was no cable service which was frustrating because I really wanted to watch the news on CNN. I was also frustrated that the several times I passed by the concierge desk, there was nobody present so I had to make several round trips back to reception - which was busy. I also didn't understand why it took two staff members to process one check in which had me waiting to ask a simple question for about 10 minutes (unless one was in training, but perhaps that should be noted). Overall, my experience, for the money, was very underwhelming. On the plus side, the bed was very comfortable and the location was very handy.…
First time stay at the hotel. The service, checkin and room was fantastic. Was upgraded and what a great room. Went and had afternoon tea as part of the club lounge. Waited on some sandwiches for nearly 50minutes after prompting staff a few times it should not take that long for 2 sandwiches. Staff were very unorganised and had no leadership from management. Sahil was fantastic and I felt he was running around doing everything possible he has only been working there for 1 month. Will certainly be returning they just need some Food and Beverage coaching.
