Needed a quick feed, popped into the Maclean Hotel. Great menu. Opted for the BBQ Beef n Bacon Burger..Take Away...a good and tasty burger served with a serve of chips..the burger was a bit small for $18.00.. however it was served in a Polystyrene container. I thought we had moved away from Polystyrene..
Stayed at Macleay Hotel for two nights a week apart. Susan, the manager, is wonderful- friendly and super helpful. I had an issue with my shuttle bus and she followed it up for me on the spot and in between my two stays. Other staff were also super friendly and very helpful giving suggestions for eating, sight seeing etc. Hotel is in the heart of Potts Point, close to Kings Cross. Lots of great shops, cafes, restaurants and bars on your doorstep. There's a Woolworths across the road too if you'd prefer to self cater. I stayed in rooms 203 and then 309. Both rooms were terrific- tv, table, chairs, comfy bed, fridge, microwave, kettle, toaster, crockery, cutlery etc Bathroom had amenities too- shampoo/soap/conditioner. Room 203 had a great view of the bay. This was a lovely surprise upgrade. Room 309 had been renovated and was slightly fresher looking. Beds were comfy and everything was immaculate and well presented. Wifi worked well. I booked online via Booking.com and had to cancel twice prior to actually staying (due to Covid lockdowns). Cancellation and booking was super easy and check in was a breeze. I can't say enough positive things about the staff here- they were all fabulous, but Susan was a standout. I really enjoyed my stay here and felt very welcome, I'd happily stay here again. Thank you.…
We recently had to be Potts Point for 3 nights and after looking at all the hotel options the Macleay cam out the best. Booking was easy and great to talk to staff to answer my questions. On arrival access to the car park was easy but parking was tight. I found going to the lower lever revealed larger parking places. Only concern was the way in one lane was the way out. The room was as shown on the website and the kitchenette was good. Everything was clean and tidy. The reception staff were excellent. It was handy to have a Woolworth's just across the road. Great stay would stay again if in the area.
We stayed one night here, it was quite uneventful, in a good way, we checked in at 7 pm which went smooth, the front desk was a little over efficient and slightly officious, however due to co-vid, we suppose this has become the norm. We were upgraded to the harbour view which was nice, the studio apartment was quite roomy and the stand out was how clean it was immaculate, not a thing out of place. The queen bed was a little firm for us, however OK, for one night. The standout for us was the price, a little over 100 bucks, and the upgrade, (the view was astounding), alone worth 5 stars.
Nothing special about the rooms, relatively small but adequate for most needs. But for a change from the CBD, the location is excellent, almost Parisian or Greenwich Village, lovely tree lined streets nearby and so many choices of restaurant. A good pool and wonderful views of the harbour from many rooms. Excellent front desk service Very good value
