With there being three of us (myself, my wife, and our friend) staying at the Hyde Park Inn (arrived on Jan 13th 2020 for four nights), we booked a Deluxe Room which consisted of one Queen Size Bed and also one Single Bed. The room was very big. Far bigger than we expected as, in addition to the bed space and bathroom, there was also a kitchen area and a small lounge with a couple of armchairs. Plenty big enough for three of us. The hotel was located in a very good area. Opposite Hyde Park and only a few minutes walk to the nearest metro station (Museum). From Museum it is very easy to reach the Airport and also Circular Quay to see the Harbour Bridge and the Opera House. If you choose to walk, Circular Quay is about a 20 to 30 minutes walk.

It should be noted that there is no breakfast room. For breakfast, items such as orange juice, yoghurt, bread, butter, etc are left in your fridge each day for you to help yourself. The kitchen also has a stove/hob/oven etc along with a kettle and (I think) a microwave oven. For some people, the breakfast might be considered to be minimal however, we found it ok given the excellent room rate that we had, however we did buy ourselves some bacon, eggs, etc from a local supermarket (which we could cook in our kitchen of course) to make our breakfast just that little bit more substantial.

We did have a small issue on a couple of days when the fridge was only topped up with breakfast items for two people, however, as mentioned, there were three of us staying in the room. A quick chat with Housekeeping or the Front Desk Reception soon rectified this and the fridge was topped up accordingly within a few minutes.

Staff at the Hotel were very friendly and indeed so helpful. We decided to use the guest laundry facilities (ie wash the clothes yourself using the onsite washing machines, tumble dryers) as we had a lot of clothes that needed washing. We had a number of issues using the machines (not a fault of the hotel - more us not reading the instructions correctly I suspect!) however the staff were so helpful and patient with us. Making sure that the machines were working correctly (which they were!), showing us how to use the machines, and making sure that our clothes had been washed to our satisfaction, etc. This was above and beyond their Reception Front Desk duties, so their assistance was very much appreciated.

We really enjoyed our four nights stay at the Hyde Park Inn, considered the price very good value for money, and we wouldn't hesitate to stay here again the next time we are in Sydney.

Arrived way too early at 9AM for the normal 1PM check-in and was directed to a nearby cafe to kill time and when i got back just past 11AM, was given a room, to boot, an upgraded one!
Room was very clean, large with a single and a double bed, kitchen, balcony overlooking the park. Nothing more to ask for. Book room 143 if you can!

Location wise, the train station stop, Museum, is a 5 minute stroll even if you moonwalk. And either direction to/from airport is a leisurely 15 minutes, tops.
A 12-15 minutes walk around the hotel brings you to the shopping and business vicinity of George street. I was there for a meeting, but can see enough variety of food and shops that should satisfy most people.

Front desk staff.
It was not so much what i asked of them, it was more what i saw, how they handled request from other hotel guests. From those who needed to have their luggage stored to a couple who spoke in Portuguese, i think, and somehow the bearded gentleman whose name i did not see, handled it perfectly.
Another incident was a big group asking the staff to book a larger taxi/bus, again they not only helped but took the trouble to point out the additional fees for bigger transport.
In essence, service quality was top notch.
Will definitely stay again.

We stayed in a room for 3 with a view of the park. We normally stay in the 5 star bigger places so I was a little hesitant. The service was helpful and friendly and our room was really nice. Clean and comfortable and just as nice as some of the 5 star places we’ve stayed. The location was good and we will definitely be back. The included breakfast was cook your own toast in the room with cereal packets and juice. We were happy to go and find somewhere to eat so it didn’t worry us. Great if you’re budget conscious though and a bonus to have tea/coffee making facilities in your own little kitchenette. Our room had its own little balcony which was a nice touch too.

We spent 4 nights here as a base, needing to travel to Canterbury and Lane Cove in between playing tourist in Sydney. The location exceeded our expectations, no more than 20 minutes drive to either location and we were able to walk to all areas of the CBD easily. Having a bus stop at the front door afforded us more options if the weather turned, or we were too tired to walk home. Overlooking Hyde Park gave a fabulous outlook.
The room was clean, comfortable, well appointed and quiet, everything you want in a room. Staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful.
Parking is included, a huge bonus in Sydney, though it is tight.
Lots of great cafes and restaurants close by, and beautiful walks through Hyde Park, and the Botanical Gardens only 10 mins away.
A perfect base to explore Sydney.

Very big room ,great view across to Hyde Park
Very comfortable beds
Decent sized bathroom
Furniture in the room and still plenty of room ,was quite surprised at the size.
Nice staff
For such a busy street could hardly hear anything ,which was good .
Parking was not available at this time ,at the site but they paid for parking at a parking station just down the road.
Was no hassle.

Great location wit apartments overlooking Hyde Park. The 2 bedroom apartment was a good size and clean. The free onsite parking is very tight, with a single lane for both entering and exiting, and the parking bays are narrow, even for our VW Golf. If the onsite parking is full, free parking is provided at a nearby secure pubic carpark a few minutes walk away. Limited crockery & cutlery so you wouldn't be looking at eating in, except for absolute basic meals.

This hotel is in a fabulous location to get to everything. Free car parking onsite & light continental breakfast.
Our room was large with a kitchenette & small balcony. Great views over Hyde Park & the city.
Beds & pillows could do with an upgrade but comfortable enough.
We were a bit disappointed with housekeeping.
I had to remake our bed on night 1 as the sheets were on the wrong way & about 8inches of the mattress along the bottom had no sheet at all.
We had Togo to the front desk & ask for several things that weren’t in our room but should have been.
I also had to wipe out draws and bedside tables before we used them ( not dusted for a while)
Housekeeping also didn’t replace enough towels or toilet paper & dishwashing liquid when servicing our room.
Front desk staff were very friendly & helpful and always apologetic for things not in our room.

We spent 1 night here as a last minute visit to the city. We checked in at 2PM. Our room 112 on the 11th floor was exceptionally clean with a small balcony that overlooked Hyde Park.

Easy walking distance to all shopping and attractions including Pitt Street Mall, Botanic Gardens and a little further walk down to Circular Quay.

A simple breakfast is provided in your mini fridge that includes toast, cereal and juice etc.

Comfortable bed. Good air-conditioning. Quiet overall.

I would definitely stay here again.

I’ll admit we were worried when we were checking in as the reception seemed to contain quite a few “colourful characters” . Once we got to our room and saw it was clean and comfortable with great amenities, a little balcony and great view of the park we were very pleased we’d decided to save money on our hotel to spend on meals and shopping. Walking distance to everything we needed, parked the car for free and forgot about it and enjoyed our stay.

Having a high room overlooking Hyde Park was a good choice for our family visit. The room was spacious with comfortable beds and useful kitchenette facilities. A very pleasant view welcomed us each morning and there was no noise issue at all. The room was clean and well serviced during our stay.

The front desk staff were very welcoming and helpful. For part of our time here we had a rental car and parking was very straightforward.

I would be very happy to stay here again.

hi is there a shuttle to get to here from the airport please ?
Answer from pgamblin
Dear Guest Unfortunately, we do not offer a shuttle bus service, however you can find shuttle services which are located outside the airport terminal and they will drop you off in front of the hotel. The cost for the airport shuttle bus is approximately AUD$16.00 per person one way trip. You may also buy return tickets. We use airport connect +61 2 8339 0155 You can also catch the train from the airport and stop at Museum station, which is the closest station to the hotel. Note: Museum station has no lifts. From the train station it will take you approximately 2-3 minutes to walk to the hotel. Please note the costs for train: $18-$20 per person Another option is to take a taxi from the airport to the hotel will cost between AUD$45– AUD$60 dollars, and it will take approximately 30 – 40 minutes in a taxi. If you require any further information please do not hesitate in contact us. Kind regards, Reservations
