Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

Great value for money as an Accor Member. The welcome drinks are always appreciated, and the room upgrade to a harbour view room was a special touch. Good service, friendly staff and a great location. The budget style room had a comfortable double bed. We slept well.

Well done you guys. I have a Accor status points from frequent stays at various Accor accommodation. My one night stay really required a late check out. I contacted the property a day in advance and was treated nicely over the phone and this late check out was organised. I was given a great room on the tenth floor with Darling Harbour views. Staff also honoured my Accor status with a sensational liquid gift in my room. This was well received as I needed it when I got back to the property. What a great surprise. This is a great place to stay. Thank you for making me feel at home.

Nice hotel, situated next to sister hotels Sofitel & Novotel. Room was on the smaller size, accommodating with storing our luggage. Buffet breakfast was nice. Walking distance to the city centre. Some building going on in front of hotel, hope this doesn't block out the views.

If you just want a comfortable bed and a hot shower in a convenient location this hotel will do. It is clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. But don't expect anything flash for your money. The rooms are very tired. The room was possibly the smallest hotel room I have stayed in, OK for a single traveller.

Worst hotel I have ever stayed in. First room had mould around the air conditioning, door handle was snapped off, cracks in the joints near the ceiling, cracks in the grout in the bathroom, tiny rooms, red feature wall behind bed in every room, stains in the carpets on multiple floors in the walkways, walls marked/scuffed. Second room we were moved to had a dead bird outside the window in the landing, extensive stains on the sheets. Rooms are tiny as is the bathrooms. Hotel is in a state of disrepair. Corona bottle left outside the lift in the foya, two hours later when we returned it was still there and it is right at reception. Ended up having to check out early and book a different hotel as the first night other guest were yelling in the hallway. Not a peaceful or relaxing hotel. Total health hazard with the model and sharp broken door handle. When I reported it they were totally unaware so clearly housekeeping isn’t reporting it. They were nice about it but unfortunately both rooms were just different versions of bad.

Very helpful friendly staff ‘Dimi’ that rebooked us as I had booked wrong date and smoothed over the issues and made sure our night out to see Tina Turner musical wasn’t ruined. Ibis darling harbour was only 15 min easy walk to Theatre Royal to see the show which was great. Thank you again for your help. You made my day.

This hotels location is amazing in relation to the Lyric Theatre and Darling Harbour. Absolutely could not have picked a better location. The room it self is clean however incredibly average and in desperate need of upgrades and repairs. For the price we paid I was expecting a bit nicer. The bar downstairs was really nice as well with a live musician. Overall it was okay, if you just need somewhere to sleep for the night.

Worst accommodation I have stayed in. The location was good. However the rooms are noisey and found the staff to be unfriendly. We stayed for 4 nights and our room was not serviced once during that time. We will choose to stay elsewhere in the future.

The only positives were the location and the breakfast buffet. A youth hostel would have offered better accommodation! The room was tiny and grubby. My room overlooked the street and the window was filthy. The window blind was broken. There were crumbs/dust behind the cushions on the bench seat, the carpets were worn and everything was dated. I was told about the restaurant on checkin only to discover that the restaurant was booked for a private function for dinners for at least 2/3 nights of my stay. This meant I had to travel to the more expensive hotel/restaurant next door to eat to use the charge back to room service. A restaurant at a hotel should be accessible to all guests. It shouldn’t be booked for the entire night for private functions. At the very least, I should have been informed of this issue on checkin. The air conditioner made a terrible grinding noise and emitted a damp/mouldy smell in the night on the second night that resulted in me contacting the concierge at 2.30am to complain. They offered to move me to another room. I then turned the heat up and the noise stopped but by that point, I was weary and sleep deprived. I wouldn’t recommend the hotel and I wouldn’t stay there again.

The staff had no idea what they were doing at check in and checkout, even though i checked in before i arrived at the property. The room was very small and stuffy inside. There was mold on and inside the air conditioner. The breakfast was cold and not worth the money. We weren't told it costs $65 to park our car at checking, we were told parking was free. The hotel was in a nice location, central to everything. The bathroom was big
