When you think Four Seasons, you typically think luxury. Well, that was not the case in Sydney. The hotel is stuck in the 80s, offer small rooms and really, is nothing to write home about. I paid about $500/night, which isn't insignificant, but don't feel there was much to justify the cost - except maybe location. Overall, I have a...

Right from the moment we checked in we loved it! Friendly staff, beautiful entrance, comfortable beds...and really great location. We walked everywhere. Shops, The Rocks, Circular Quay, Sydney Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge. We had a great view of the Opera House from our room. We loved the The Grain bar, excellent service. We highly recommend a visit. Food...

Let's get the negatives out of the way first - the lifts take forever , and the room overlooked the roadworks rather than the beautiful harbour( but it was a post cruise stay and so not too surprising, and someone has to miss the view) There are so many positives though- friendly staff , very high standards in all areas ,...

What a great stay we ended up having at this hotel, but it came at a cost. We were booked into a city view room which we were very disappointed with on arrival. Eventually decided to upgrade to a club room with harbour view and it was worth every dollar. Rooms are small and could do with some updating, but...

Out of al the hotels in Sydney this is my favorite. It is close tot he ferry's, the iconic Sydney Opera House and Sydney Harbor Bridge. Great little walk around the Rocks in the morning or evening where you can find little restaurants and shops. . Rooms are very comfortable and I recommend if you can afford it, to upgrade...

I stayed at the Four Seasons for one night om business. The hotel is in a central location and the rooms are a good size and comfortable, ours also had a brilliant view of the harbour, although the bathrooms look a little outdated. The hotel amenities are great and the midday checkout was a bonus as it meant I could...

Staying in The Rocks

Neighbourhood Profile
The Rocks
The first residents of the Rocks were convicts and sailors from the old nation. As the oldest neighbourhood in the city, the area's cobblestone streets host more than 100 heritage sites and buildings, including the oldest house in Sydney, Camden Cottage, which was built in 1816. Taste a “midi “ or a “schooner” of beer and dine “al fresco” on the waterfront at some of the oldest pubs in Sydney. The weekend markets at the Rocks are where you can find local artists' hand-made souvenirs, organic food and designer jewelry in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. To enjoy some of the best Australian and international contemporary art, the MCA museum is open every day and select evenings. At the end of a long day of sightseeing, be sure to save energy to dance the night away at the area's many late night entertainment venues.
