We enjoyed our overnight stay at the Novotel Sydney Central. Comfortable beds and pillows, nicely presented room. Our two children enjoyed the pool and the other clientele were considerate when using the shared facilities. Staff were professional and the lobby was comfortable and welcoming. We would happily stay there again, especially considering the easy access to Sydney Central Station.

The Novotel Citigate Central is my hotel of choice when visiting Sydney. I have stayed here many times over the years well before the Novotel re branding. The hotel is close to Chinatown, Darling Harbour and transport such as Centrak Railway Station. The hotel adjoins a multi level carpark whisch has easy access and costs around $30 per day. The...

The night manager on duty is very good and the front desk receptionists are very helpful as well. However, room service attendant is very rude and no manners at all. We requested for a bathe towel and she did not answer us but to give us a sulky face.

I would ideally liked to have given this 3.5. Check in no problem. Room on the 8th floor with a balcony that looked onto another buildings wall. Maid service poor on first morning. Bed part made. Bathroom not cleaned and half the towels forgotten. We called to get some more and waited longer than we wanted. Happy hour quite good...

Like some Novotels it's hard to get into with heavy bags as the hotel is up stairs from the footpath and the ramp is off to the side through manual doors and no help from porters. Location is above average with transport etc. View from our 14th floor room was of other buildings and straight into open office blocks. Has...

Staying in Chinatown

Neighbourhood Profile
Chinatown
Tiger-flanked archways on Dixon Street mark the entrance to the “little Asia” of Sydney. A walk through Chinatown is a feast for the senses where aromas, tastes, sounds and visions of dancing tigers transport you to a different world. Chinatown visitors can expect a melting pot of Asian food at the neighbourhood's specialty delis and groceries. From yum cha to handmade noodles, BBQ ducks hanging in the window to Asian sweets and bakeries, there is something for all tastes. Paddy’s Markets is the largest flea market in Sydney where you can find souvenirs, clothing, gifts and fruit and vegetables at unbeatable prices. At night, Chinatown comes alive with entertainment including theatre, nightclubs and bars that are open until the early morning.
