Stayed here for a one night business stay with a colleague. I am a IHG rewards member and upon check in I was informed I was upgraded to a superior king room, however we wanted twin beds. It was a wonderful welcoming gesture, that I hope I will get to experience the next time I stay here for pleasure. All...

We really enjoyed our stay at the Holiday Inn Darling Harbour. The hotel itself is a typical Holiday Inn that is a little long in the tooth. However, the friendly staff and great location more than make up for the age of the hotel. Also, the room was a good size, clean and quiet. Prompt elevator service was appreciated. They...

We stayed here for four nights in August. The location is very convenient for Darling Harbour which is only a ten minute walk away. Circular Quay is a bit further but there are plenty of buses. The room was quite small for the three of us but always kept clean. Chinatown is only round the corner where there are some...

We stayed during the NYE celebrations, and although it was quite expensive during that busy time of year we were treated wonderfully by all staff. Since it was during our honeymoon, we re welcomed with a personal note, champagne and strawberries dipped in chocolate in the room - that was a nice surprise! The bed was very comfortable with various...

The location is excellent, China Town is just behind the hotel, Darling Harbour, with all its attractions is 10-15 mins. walk away and Paddy's Market is at the end of the street. It is a typical Holiday Inn, nothing fancy but ticked the boxes for my trip which was a balance of price and location. I found the staff to...

Stayed one night at this hotel in August. Have stayed many times over the years for work. Convenient location, good breakfast, reasonable service. Rooms are Holiday Inn standard from a few years ago. Staying in Chinatown

Neighbourhood Profile
Chinatown
Tiger-flanked archways on Dixon Street mark the entrance to the “little Asia” of Sydney. A walk through Chinatown is a feast for the senses where aromas, tastes, sounds and visions of dancing tigers transport you to a different world. Chinatown visitors can expect a melting pot of Asian food at the neighbourhood's specialty delis and groceries. From yum cha to handmade noodles, BBQ ducks hanging in the window to Asian sweets and bakeries, there is something for all tastes. Paddy’s Markets is the largest flea market in Sydney where you can find souvenirs, clothing, gifts and fruit and vegetables at unbeatable prices. At night, Chinatown comes alive with entertainment including theatre, nightclubs and bars that are open until the early morning.
