Stayed in the Holiday Inn Old Sydney with my wife for 4 nights in March 2014. The hotel is a converted warehouse so doesn't look luxurious from the outside. The room was very comfortable though. The best thing about the hotel is its location - Sydney Harbour Bridge, Opera House, Circular Quay ferry terminal all a short walk (less than...

We booked the first 5 nights of our 3 1/2 week holiday in Oz in the Holiday Inn. The location was perfect and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. We needed a doctor on our first night and this was all arranged efficiently and the doctor arrived within an hour and the staff asked how our son was every...

Spent 3 nights in this motel recently to attend a photography workshop. Dream location and the view from the roof top terrace is spectacular. The staff were great and extremely helpful as well. Would definitely return if the opportunity arises. Bathroom could do with an upgrade but overall the room was very clean and comfortable.

The room was nothing special, in fact far from it, and Sydney prices with the over valued dollar means everything is expensive and this hotel is no exception. Staff very friendly and welcoming, and the location is hard to beat. I'd go again, but would like to see the prices moderate

The Holiday Inn provides comfortable if fairly basic accommodation. The room was quiet, of a decent size and had everything we needed. Staying in The Rocks

Neighbourhood Profile
The Rocks
The first residents of the Rocks were convicts and sailors from the old nation. As the oldest neighbourhood in the city, the area's cobblestone streets host more than 100 heritage sites and buildings, including the oldest house in Sydney, Camden Cottage, which was built in 1816. Taste a “midi “ or a “schooner” of beer and dine “al fresco” on the waterfront at some of the oldest pubs in Sydney. The weekend markets at the Rocks are where you can find local artists' hand-made souvenirs, organic food and designer jewelry in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. To enjoy some of the best Australian and international contemporary art, the MCA museum is open every day and select evenings. At the end of a long day of sightseeing, be sure to save energy to dance the night away at the area's many late night entertainment venues.
