Make this hotel your last option if you had other choices! Terrible old hotel with absolutely no service. We stayed 4 nights, in room 302. Pros: bed was comfortable, hot showers and spacious room. Cons: There are so many I have to list them. 1. Its a very old hotel, showers smelt so bad. Not sure if it was coming from the drain or the washing facilities in the bathroom. 2. Very noisy location. We could hear all the noise from the street. 3. No decent basic facilities in Kitchen. For example, no tea towel. All the cutlery was a combination of random items, not even a decent knife to cut your food with. 4. Tea and coffee facilities was crap and no herbal tea such as green tea etc. 5. Not a secure hotel, no swipe card to access the rooms. Basically anyone can walk in from the street to your room door. 6. No customer service and you cannot check in until 3pm. Majority hotels checkin time is 2pm. 7. We asked for toilet paper from reception on day three. But no one bought it up. We ended up using tissue paper for the toilet. 8. $200 pre-authorisation is debited from your card. Most hotels these day swipe the card for $1. Don't stay here even if it seems cheap. It ain't worth the loss of sleep. We paid around $490 PER NIGHT!

Beautifully situated, comfy, excellent bathroom. Room was very small (tiny) but we didnt mind. Great service and parking available at a cost. Will def stay here again as good value for money. Only thing we wished we had was wine glasses in the room.

I booked a room for 3 people for the 1st of January and on arrival I found that the room was shoddy, dirty, and furniture damaged. Lift carpet looked like it hadn’t been hoovered for weeks. I immediately told the receptionist however they were unable to put us in another room. We therefore checked out without staying. On asking to speak to a manager the receptionist told us that one wouldn’t be available until the next day and could not state what time. I tried to claim the refund back from hotel.com (Expedia) the agent which I booked the hotel through but they have advised that you will not refund.

My sister and I stayed here for a week in the lead up to the Women’s World Cup Final in August. I had previously stayed at the YEHS Hotel Sydney QVB so was confident that the Harbour Suites would be a good choice. I was very wrong!!! Even though we booked well in advance, my sister only received an email a week or so prior to our stay to advise of renovation works taking place at the property. By this stage, it was too late to book anywhere else. I appreciate that every hotel needs a refresh from time to time but the renovation works were truly a nightmare. Anywhere from 7am onwards in the morning we were startled awake with the sounds of hammer drills and heavy machinery. it was so bad we could not even hear each other speak from one side of the room to the other. It basically made the room totally uninhabitable during the day, which turned out to be a big problem for us as my sister became ill during our stay and needed to rest. I’m not precious - I could absolutely deal with the workmen coming to and fro in the corridors, the dust and debris everywhere and the total debacle that was the lift situation (only one in operation, shared with the workmen) but the renovation works (described by the hotel as a “minor inconvenience”) totally ruined our stay. Tradies were literally hammering out tiles in the apartment next door and the hotel still saw fit to sell the adjoining rooms! When we asked to be moved, the manager did so very begrudgingly and made out like they were doing us a huge favour. Lo and behold they moved us to another floor where works were also being carried out, and it was just as bad - again they would have known this - why bother?! The whole experience was a nightmare, the hotel would have known this would be happening when we booked yet waited until the last minute to inform us (leaving us with no other options during a busy period) and downplayed the impact in those communications. If the hotel intends to continue selling rooms during the renovations then they should be upfront and honest with guests about the true impact of the works when booking. The rooms should be sold at maximum of half price, to reflect that you will be unable to use the room during daylight hours. No such compensation was forthcoming for us once they had us on the hook and committed to a week’s worth of sensory torture. There is no way I’d stay here again while the renovations are ongoing and after the poor communication and mishandling of our complaints I won’t be back to this hotel full stop. Quite odd, as my experiences at YEHS QVB have always been very positive - I can only assume different management.

We stayed in YEHS Hotel Sydney Harbor suites for 5 days during the end of December and beginning of January. We arrived at the hotel about 8:00 pm and the The check-in was okay. We were in the 14th floor. We had a one bedroom apartment with 2 single beds in the main area of the apartment, one bathroom (had washer and dryer) and a small kitchen area. Good things: - The water pressure in the shower was very good. - The housekeeping does a good job of cleaning the room every day and replacing the towels. - The location of this hotel is very close to the Darling Harbor, George Street and QVB. There is a pedestrian only bridge right opposite to the hotel that takes you the Darling Harbor. - There is a washer dryer in the bathroom that worked well. - There is a Brew Bros cafe right next to this hotel that had goodT Not so good things: - The hotel is showing its age. All the way from carpets/walls in elevator to the carpets/walls in the hallway and the rooms. Everything feels/looks old. The carpets are torn, the walls scratched and paint peeling off. - Once we checked-in we noticed that the refrigerator in the kitchen was leaking water, when I went down to the reception and told them about this, their reaction was let me give you a towel to clean up. We didn't even use the kitchen and the refrigerator the whole time we were there. - The shower was so small that we could hardly move in the shower and there was no place to keep the soap and shampoo in the shower. The bathroom is very old and showing its age. The water pressure was pretty good in the shower. - The beds were uncomfortable, especially the twin beds in the main area of the apartment We got an email a few days before were supposed to check-in that there is construction going on. But by the time we got there there was no construction. I was told they are done with it. For the money we paid I expected it to be better.

Centrally located int the main city centre. Room if reasonable good size . Reception staff are very friendly and helpful. We stayed for five nights. On the new year day the hotel management gave us a nice bottle of wine, sweets and a card which very nice of the team The place is centrally located well approached to the tram, buses and local trains. I will highly recommend this place for people visiting Sydney with family

The rooms are very old & tired, the furniture and carpets are dirty, the shower is mouldy, several power points in the room don't work, the air-conditioning in the room is hit & miss and only 1 of the 2 lifts were working for the majority of our 8 day stay. Also even with the windows / doors closed the noise of the traffic and people outside is very loud and you'll be woken all through the night. Adding to the problem of having only 1 lift available was the fact the hotel is currently undertaking renovations (started in June 23) , therefore guests are having to wait up to 15 minutes to get the lift, as it's shared with the workers doing the renovations. If having only 1 lift wasn't bad enough, it also broke down several times during our stay, forcing all guests to take the stairs. There's no mention of the renovations on their website either, which is very poor form. They really need to close the hotel & get the renovations over & done with sooner, as it appears they haven't done many rooms / floors yet. Also the gym is closed due to the renovations - once again no mention of this on their website.

The room was tiny with space for 1 chair only. The TV was broken (aerial cable torn from the TV fitting). There were no spare pillows. Only one lift was operating for the whole hotel. The foyer looked clean and professional, but the rest of the hotel showed signs of sad neglect - paint scratched and peeling from walls, the carpet clearly in need of cleaning.

Booked hotel through wotif 1 hour before arrival (as last minute business trip) - “parking available” arrived in the rain to be told there was no parking. Staff member did not direct me to any other parks and when shown the WOTIF booking she agreed it was misleading. As there was no parking I had to find alternate accom at great expense. Hotel refused a refund lied about the fact I wasn’t told about alternate parking. I had to rebook elsewhere and drive in peak hour in the rain to another hotel - DO NOT BOOK HERE
