A by Adina Sydney strikes a chord with guests for its prime location, garnering appreciation for its proximity to Sydney's attractions and transit. The hotel's atmosphere is described as a blend of luxury and vibrancy, though the lively ambiance sometimes translates into noise disturbances. While service is generally commended for professionalism, there are hints that staff friendliness could be enhanced. Room amenities earn praise, yet some guests suggest improvements in housekeeping and noise insulation. The value proposition is debated, with mixed reviews on the cost versus experience balance.

Stayed the 1 night in this beautiful new 5 star apartment/hotel. It has a discreet street entrance with seamless checkin on the 21st floor. The elevators are ‘touchless’ and the room fitout (had a 1 bedroom apartment) has all the latest tech. Blinds that open automatically as you enter your room, hidden strip lighting, up to the minute bathroom fitout, fully equipped kitchen, laundry etc. But worthy of mention is the customer service ...it is a standout. We were greeted at reception by Pedro (a Portugese) and having visited Portugal many times chatted about that wonderful country. On checkout, Gonzalo (another Portugese national) handed over 2 fresh baked Portugese tarts (pastel de nata) with regards from Pedro. NOW that is extraordinary care and attention, He would have had to organise that externally from the hotel as the restaurant is not opening until next week! Covid has decimated parts of our tourism industry and prevented working holiday makers and backpackers from coming to Australia, but Adina should count themselves so lucky to have found Pedro and Gonzalo. Good old fashioned European hospitality skills perfectly on show. They are gems. We enjoyed the downtown central location, being able to dine at Little Felix less than 5 minutes walk away. It will be our new hotel of choice whenever we need to stay in Sydney.

This was my first stay at A by Adina and I would happily return. It is in a prime location and easy walking distance to everything in the CBD. I had a standard studio on the 12th floor - room had everything I needed with a super comfy bed. I really liked the different lighting options in the room - a nice contrast to the very dark entry foyer. There was some street noise but generally I found my room to be very quiet for the central location? This hotel gets so many things spot on - the kitchenette was well equipped and enabled me to sort my own breakfast, a sturdy ironing board and decent iron.
I had a personal and business booking that needed to be linked to enable me to stay in the same room. The staff managed this with minimum fuss.
The hotel is busy and obviously popular but I had a relaxing and really enjoyable stay,

Antony at reception was very friendly and made an effort to help me have a more comfortable stay by recommending a phone call to reception if my room was not in a good location. I phoned to see if I could change rooms and unfortunately could not (half of the hotel is still closed currently) but I am happy I was given the option.
Concierge staff was very good acknowledging me whenever I entered and exited the hotel.
Single King Bedroom was great with good facilities and very spacious- I especially loved the couch which stretched the length of the room. Great to see movies are free to watch. Having Chromecast installed on the tv is a great option I used.
The pool is nice although the temp can be raised a few degrees esp during this current and upcoming cool season.
Overall I great weekend getaway at a very reasonable price too.

Hi Enelenz, I am absolutely thrilled to read that you enjoyed your stay with us as one of our very first guests. Thanks for your feedback regarding the pool temp. It sure is a little chilly at this time of year so we will be sure to check out if we can increase it. I am glad that you took advantage of the Chromecast and that you loved the design of the couch (it sure is comfy). At The A, we want for our guests to have everything that they need at their fingertips whilst being as comfy as they would be at home - we call it Hotel Living. We hope to welcome you back to The A again real soon and thank you for your feedback. Amanda Cottome General Manager

Why am I being woken up at 9am on a Sunday by every door on my floor being SLAMMED shut over and over and over and over again by housekeeping?? Every single room they service, they slam the door shut every time they duck in and out of the room, sending a loud BANG echoing through my room. Multiply that by the number of rooms on the floor and it’s a solid couple hours of non-stop door-slamming. Surely you could give these poor housekeepers a $2 doorstopper to use while they make up a room, or just adjust the auto door closers so they don’t slam. Never experienced this in any other hotel, let alone one that claims so loudly to be “luxury”.

Hi iamnotmacgyver, There is nothing worse than not being able to get a sleep in and particularly on a Sunday. I am terribly sorry to read that this occurred to you during your stay however, am pleased that you have bought this to our attention as this is definitely not the experience we want for our guests to be having. We have gone through a adjusted our door closers and also communicated to the team to utilise their door stoppers when servicing the rooms. We do hope to welcome you back some time to show you how fabulous a stay can be at The A. Cheers, Amanda GM

The hotel is stunning and looks fancy inside. The room itself is incredibly comfortable and equipped with everything we needed, including a kitchen and laundry facilities, which were extremely helpful.

The staff was exceptionally friendly and accommodating. They went above and beyond to assist us with receiving and delivering our online packages directly to our room. Our room was ready even though we arrived early and the location is highly convenient in the heart of the CBD with easily accessible public transportation within a short walking distance.

We had a great stay at A by Adina. Check in was easy and they held our bags then put them in the room while we were out. The bed was comfortable, toiletries were luxe (from Hunter), I ordered room service breakfast which arrived in 10 mins. The best part was the total block out blinds for an extra long sleep in! Would love to stay again.

I don’t like a dark entrance to a hotel really, not inviting. Dark corridors. The electronic blinds have a mind of their own and open as you enter the room and once during the night. Body wash say empty for 2 days so washed with shampoo until I requested a top up twice in one day. Bed comfort wasn’t anything special like other hotels nearby. Someone charged drinks to my room that once reversed at checkout, a female employee called me to sign a permit to charge my credit card. How many times I had to explain I wasn’t even at the bar the night before, she wasn’t interested. No apology, no how was your stay. I had to tell her to check signatures against mine on arrival. Never again. I visit Sydney every few weeks. I’d rather not travel that week than stay there. I’ll keep staying at a hotel on the next corner who value their guests each and every time I stay there.

I stayed here for my wedding weekend and I couldn't have booked a better place. It was a stress-free time as the staff was so kind and helpful throughout. They directed all the bridal party to my room, sent over whatever food or flowers we received, and even gave us a box of nibbles in the morning to congratulate us. They really went above and beyond to make sure that I had a relaxing day. Special thanks to Amanda for being so kind and helpful since we first spoke!

The space itself is beautiful. The sky lobby is so stunning and Dean&Nancy blew us away with their food. It's such a modern and sophisticated space, with all the amenities and things you need.

The rooms are a tad smaller than the pictures but they made them as comfortable as possible so it makes up for it! I'd stay here again and would recommend A by Adina to any guest travelling to Sydney! The location is unbeatable and it's rare to find such a 'cool' hotel/serviced apartment in the CBD.

We stayed here for 3 nights in a 2 bedroom apartment. Overall VERY DISAPPOINTED.

The good things:
• the location was great, close enough walk to Circular Quay and Darling Harbour

• The staff were really friendly and helpful

• the place is quite modern.

The bad things:
• our check in wasn’t ready by 2pm as advertised. When we arrived shortly after 2pm we were asked to take a seat and wait for our room to be finished.

• The room hadn’t been cleaned properly, there were smears over the dining table and windows everywhere. The cutlery in the draw hadn’t been washed well, they had fingerprints all over them. Normally I wouldn’t be bothered by this too much but with COVID I would have hoped for higher standards in cleaning.

• The rooms were very small, we had a twin room and the beds were so close together they were touching. The main bathroom was tiny compared to that of the ensuite and the drain was awful so water come out quite a long way from the shower saturating the bath mat.

• We stayed on level 20 and the noise from the restaurant 2 levels up was ridiculous. They played music until at least midnight and could hear people walking around in their heels upstairs. The whole place was SO noisy regardless of upstairs, we could hear the bars and clubs down on the street from our level (and I mean we could hear word for word the songs they were playing) until 2-3am (and worse on a weekend!). Would definitely recommend bringing your own ear plugs if you are thinking of staying here.

• The couch wasn’t big enough to fit more than 2 people and the only other seating was at the dining table.

• the main bathtub was quite high to step up into (see picture). Not very practical.

Overall, our opinion was the place was over priced for what we got. Very disappointing. We wouldn’t recommend to friends.

I have stayed at A by Adina a couple of times now and the hotel itself is awesome. The location is great if you want to stay in the city, walking distance to the Rocks or the shops. The rooms are modern, clean, the design of the hotel is great and the cocktail bar Dean and Nancy is amazing, probably one of the best cocktail bars in Sydney. The staff are very helpful and want to make your stay enjoyable. The only issue I have is that the cost of the room on a weekend is roughly that of a 5 Star Hotel, however A by Adina lacks certain things 5 Star Hotels have and in particular room service for lunch and dinner is non existent. At $400 plus per night there are probably better options out there, but overall it is an amazing stay if you can get a room for a good price.
