Crown Towers Sydney has garnered mixed reviews, with its prime location often highlighted as a standout feature. However, some travelers have been vocal about their disappointment regarding service and amenities, pointing out slow service, neglect in housekeeping, and perceived high costs with little return on value.
Despite the comfortable rooms, guests have called out issues with cleanliness and general room readiness. The atmosphere, while comfortable for many, also suffers from noise, contributing to a chaotic feel at times.

Detailed Reviews
Booked a solo babymoon stay before bub #2 having waited for Crown to open. The guest rooms are very good and decor of common areas and restaurants/foyer really lovely. However was called morning of stay to be asked if I was over 12 and under 24 weeks pregnant for the massage and I was not. I wasn't allowed to have the pregnancy massage?! Booked a facial only to be called later in the day and told I was not allowed and only could have my nails done. This was meant to be an indulgent night away. I didn't use the other spa facilities – there was a group of three women taking up the indoor mineral hot tub posing for a million instagram selfies so it wasn't really a welcoming space for other guests... I would go as far as to recommend that phones not be allowed in the spa area, so it is a sanctuary zone for all guests.
Also be aware that you can not go to the rooftop bar for a drink, it needs to be booked and a minimum spend of $75 for each person even if you are a hotel guest. Really disappointing if you were planning a pre-dinner drink or similar. Yes there is another bar, but it is an indoor space downstairs, and doesn't get the view like upstairs. I understand external groups, however think it should be accessible to those paying hotel guests.
Breakfast was great, big variety of options and staff were helpful. Service is very good, although it does feel over-serviced – not quite as many needed especially in foyer, even in covid times.

Our check-in experience was friendly.
The room was very comfortable and clean. We weren't big fans of the automatic toilet, which comes with a remote control and buttons you can't decipher.
We spoke to the concierge about dinner and were told everything was booked out and we should book tomorrow night now. We asked him to book a certain restaurant for us and he said we would send a confirmation email. It didn't happen and so the following night we had to eat out of the hotel.
The pool area was OK but way too crowded. We felt like most of the people in the pool were just there trying to take photos to put on Instagram and you couldn't actually swim without interrupting a photo.
We had a nice room service breakfast the next morning laid out on the table in the room. The only problem was the dishes and food were left there all day, even after I called 3 times to ask for them to be cleared. They had taken the trolley away when they set the table so we couldn't just put everything on the trolley and take it outside. It only was cleared at almost 10pm when I went down to reception in frustration.
We also had to call for more shower soap as the toiletries weren't replenished when they did turn down.
We went to use the spa and was told that even hotel guests had to pay to use it except for just before a treatment.
These are just some of the issues we had. Each time I brought it up with a staff member to give them a chance to fix it while we were there and nothing was actually done.

We celebrated our wedding anniversary at the Crown Towers.last week. With a room at $936 pn I was aghast when I looked out widow and down onto a construction site view. My poor husband had gone to a lot of trouble to make the night special so it was a terrible start to this special night.
The hotel did the right thing and moved us to a water view at our request ( the room was cheaper) but why didn’t they put us in this room when we booked . Felt like they had treated us like a succor and hoped we wouldn’t complain. Those rooms overlooking the construction site should be offered at half price of the water views.
Reception offered complimentary bottle of alcohol for our anniversary and when we asked for champagne they didn’t have any!

Nice hotel with a spacious room and great views. The service tablet was great , easy to order room service and control lights etc. the valet parking was a bit hectic but the check in was quick. The pool and spa were lovely and the pool staff were friendly. The buffet breakfast had lots of options for the whole family. We stayed one night only but would definitely visit again!

Stayed as a couple in thePremiere Harbour Bridge Suite.
The lobby was super crowded at check-in (due to Valentines Day) however, all Crown staff within the lobby were attentive offering guests water and re assurance whilst enforcing COVID -19 safe practices. Mr. M. Sullivan our check in steward was in fact an excellent ambassador for the Crown label, his professionalism improved our check in experience; escorting us to our room and presented us with entry passes to Cirq club.
The Suite was 5 stars (check out the photos) cannot fault the execution / design it was simply stunning for the price AUD $1077 utilising Crown Direct discount. We also checked out the pool area which is possibly one of the finest in the Sydney CBD the Insta models taking advantage of the photo opportunities was proof of this claim.
Given, our booking we had a choice at Breakfast time either TWR (The Waiting Room) or Epicurean Restaurant - which we utilised and found comparable to other high standard buffets internationally.
Late check out at 12:00 PM was agreeable and convenient. I loved our experience at Crown Towers Sydney and would stay again, would like to stay at the Harbour Bridge & Opera Suite next time to compare. However, at the time of enquiry the Opera Suite was for 4 people which made the choice for us.
Anyway, we were very happy with the Premiere Harbour Bridge Suite and would recommend to others.

As a new player the Crown will obviously have ‘teething’ problems like all new builds etc however I cannot fathom how there is basically no cupboard space to unpack your bags and no space whatsoever to store your bags. We stayed 3 nights and had to live out of suitcases which is totally unacceptable. The room is basically run by an iPad via wifi etc. Our TV ‘crashed’ and it also affected our personal devices. Whilst the staff did their best to rectify the issue surely these ‘bugs’ would of well and truly have been sorted prior to opening. A modern 5/6 star location should and must enforce the dress regulations which unfortunately was not the case. Families of middle eastern appearance openly dined for breakfast in thongs, singlets, sports attire and their children of school age were still dress in their pyjamas and were let to run around the Epicaian restaurant unsupervised. Ditto for the pool area were again hordes of very young children wearing floaties were left to swim unsupervised whilst the adults lounged in the cabanas or chairs. Not once did staff address these behaviours. At approx $900 a night for 3 nights (FRi,Sat, Sun) our beds etc were only turned down on the first night. I had to speak to room staff for clean towels and a clean after day 2! I had also ordered champagne when booking that was not delivered but added to my bill (queried at checkout). Overall a substandard experience and we will not revisit.

For our wedding anniversary we thought we would try Crown Towers Sydney. I’ve broken our stay down into Pro’s and Con’s.
Pro’s;
The location is phenomenal, we had a great room with a great view over Darling Harbour.
The infinity pool is a delight and the staff here were tentative and friendly.
Restaurants and food were exquisite. We ate at Wood Cut and Silks for our evening meals . Wood Cut was delicious, we had the pleasure of sitting around the kitchen which I would recommend if your into your food. Silks is Cantonese and was incredibly tasty. Breakfast was a vast array of cuisines and service was great.
The gym is super lux and we got the place to ourselves.
We got a lovely bottle of wine and chocolates for our anniversary celebration.
Con’s
Usually I’m not for ragging on hotels as I believe there is genuine intent to provide a great service, but overall I left feeling disappointed and underwhelmed.
We decided to stay for a second night after a great first night, I called to ask for the cost of the second night and to book of which I was informed they could not do this over the phone and I had to book direct online….?
I decided to speak with the front desk on my way to dinner, I was told they could offer the second night on the base rate of $860 which I had to pay in full and settle any outstanding costs which I agreed too. I was later informed that they had accidentally charged the second night and the fist night again to a total of $2,901.41 of which would bet settled when we checked out minus any costs we had incurred. When we checked out they advise they have “processed” a refund but couldn’t provide any evidence this had taken place and that they “promise” they had refunded the incorrect charge. Only then to be told we need to settle the remaining balance of $896.02? I’m not certain how a supposed luxury hotel manages customer billing so poorly… we are still awaiting our refund?
The hotel has employed COVID safe measures, however after our room was cleaned and made up we found two dirty napkins that were wet sitting on my wife’s clothes…? They appeared to be used by another guest or used for cleaning… we called to let guest services know of which we were informed they would clean these up. I’m pretty horrified by this experience given the current environment.
As in the title started well but finished poor and whilst I would return for the restaurants I don’t think we will be back to stay.

My sister and I stayed for three nights over Easter in a Deluxe King Room at Crown Towers. We arrived early prepared to leave our bags until designated check in at 2pm however the Front Office Staff organized a room for us immediately with absolutely no fuss. The room was spotless and had virtually everything you would wish for in a hotel room. The views were magnificent. The windows were a bit dirty but it didn't detract from the views and were in the process of being cleaned. The pool area was beautiful however maybe there could be an easier way for the wait staff to locate the recipients of food and beverage without having to ask various patrons. Having said that the staff were excellent. We dined at Epicurean and A Mare which were entirely different experiences but both had lots to recommend them. We took advantage of the Spa which was a truly professional experience. I would only have one issue and that was with Housekeeping. There were a couple of occasions when items were removed such as used crockery, cutlery and linen but were not replaced which resulted in calls to replenish the stock. Minor issues but for a 6 Star hotel everything needs to be perfect. One other thing that I would like to comment on is the Dress Policy. I am THRILLED that a Hotel such as this is committed to preserving a high standard of attire and is not afraid to enforce the rules. Out check out was flawless even with a Trainee on the Desk. Congratulations. Overall we were absolutely thrilled with our experience. We have stayed at hotels around the world and Crown Towers is equal to or better than some of the most luxurious establishments. Looking forward to visiting again in a couple of months.

My husband and I visited the Crown Sydney for a two night weekend away in a deluxe king room. After reading reviews we very nearly cancelled our stay but were pleased that we gave the Crown a chance. The valet parking and check in process was quick and seamless, and the service we received from the hotel staff was polite and efficient. The room had wonderful views of Darling Harbour and the infinity pool (which I would prefer to the suites overlooking a construction site). Everything was new, clean and beautifully appointed in the room. There was ample space and the bathroom was a true highlight - one of the best we have seen in a luxury hotel. The bed was divine and finally a hotel with dark rooms and a way to cover the lit room controls! We thoroughly enjoyed breakfast at Epicurean and the variety was exceptional. We were however a little put off by people dining in sweaty gym gear in an establishment that is so clear on dress codes. Our stay was wonderful overall despite a few small issues - the first was that the plug in the bathtub didn’t work so the water kept draining out. The second was that when we attempted to get a drink before dinner the staff were extremely dismissive and pretentious. I think that as a guest of a 6 star hotel you should be able to find a spot for a casual drink without making a reservation weeks in advance. We would visit again but maybe throughout the week when the facilities are less crowded.

Stayed at Crown Towers Sydney in mid January. The Hotel is absolutely beautiful, as it should be for the price. I stayed in the Opera Studio room which offers great views of the Bridge and Opera House through the massive floor to ceiling windows from level 23.
The quality of the furniture and fittings in the room is the best I have seen in Sydney. Room features are controlled by a tablet such as blinds/ lights/ room service etc.
The bathroom was huge with double vanity, bath with TV, Toto Japanese toilet with heated seat and rain shower, absolutely beautiful.
Service was friendly and efficient from everyone I came into contact with. The pool area is fantastic with views over Darling Harbour, but can get busy on a beautiful day.
Breakfast was as expected at a 5 star Hotel buffet ( Covid safe) service was very prompt and efficient.
I can’t wait to stay again!

You should ask the hotel about this question
Yes Crown has gift certificates that can be used for any accommodation, their restaurants or their Spa !
And you can purchase any amount !
Have a look online for the current prices but more than $1,200 per night. Checkout other hotels on the Harbour and around Circular Quay.
We booked in advance and were assured there would be no issues. The valet service was seem less and quick.
The view from our room was so awesome we thought room service would be a great idea. However, the menu looked basic and uninviting so we skipped it and went out to eat instead. Could not remember what items were on the menu but hopefully they’ve improved it. Sorry I couldn’t share positive news and hope you have a better experience.
