we stayed there just as the corona virus was taking off, the staff was very understanding and helped in many ways, Internet storing our luggage, directions, uber. Perhaps we were more needy than normal but whatever we asked we were helped.
As to the hotel it is older, in a rather seedy section of town especially at night, the room was good and clean but noisy at least on the street side of the hotel. I would stay there again and rate it a 3 star in the AAA version of class and a 4 star within that level.

Stayed here for 3 nights on our first trip to Sydney and Australia in general. The lady at reception was helpful and nice and took care of our luggageWhilst we went for a coffee as we arrived early due to our flight from London arriving at 7am. Room was good size compared to some hotels we’ve stayed in, the bed was also comfy. The only downside to the room was the wardrobe door which wouldn’t close properly, but it wasn’t really an issue - it’s just because we’re basically children who are scared of the bogeyman. Great stay and great prices! Stayed at another hotel down the road for 1 night when we arrived back in Sydney from Brisbane and it wasn’t anywhere near as good, we should of booked a night here again.

The bayswater is in a great location and while it may be a little older it is still a good value option. Close to everything. Parking can be an issue. Avoid the the Wilson parking next door, it's a scam, they'll hit you for 120 overnight so the lost ticket option is cheaper. Go with the hotels parking option for $30

The facilities are nothing like the pictures. I am short and you cannot sit on a toilet seat unless you are sideways.
The residence was extremely noisy. I was woken by Jack Hammers at 12.30am on night one. I was then transferred the following morning to a back room that during a slightly rain night created a large dripping noise from a tin vent outside the residence. I would for the price take up accommodation elsewhere. The administration of booking a residence for multiple nights was difficult as we had to sign paperwork to get another room card. The car parking indicated that we would get $40 off for the voucher when we only received $15.

We had two separate stays here recently and on both occasions got room upgrades because we booked direct. Upgrades are understandably subject to availability but on both occasions they were offered with no prompting. Rooms are well equipped, very clean and well furnished. Basic rooms are small but bigger ones are available. Good beds. Reception staff are friendly and helpful. The area is buzzy and very "inner city" but we loved it. No bar or food operation but plenty of options nearby and a good coffee/breakfast kiosk just outside the hotel front door. We will use this hotel again I am sure.

+1
Positive: quiet, friendly and helpful staff, good coffee shop outside
Negative: tired and dirty rooms and bathrooms, poor housekeeping standards
I could live with the fact that the door opens straight onto the corner of a bed, that the loo is in the way of the shower door, that the blackout blind was broken, there were brown stains on the framed picture on the wall and the bathroom has a toe-stubbing raised tile surface.
But dirty is another thing entirely.
When I complained about the mould in the shower, the staff cheerfully offered to move me to another room. The first option was bigger but even dirtier, and the second option (which had darker tiles and the broken blind you couldn’t open) seemed at first better but after moving to it, l realised it wasn’t. That first room also had a sofa with stains on it that I don’t even want to think about.
I know housekeeping had been into the room on my second day there because the bed was made but nothing else had been done - the dirty tea mugs were still there and had not been replaced with clean ones, the carpet hadn’t been hoovered, and the shower still had mould.
It’s always a bad sign when a place says “well nobody else has complained” - so please feel free to complain if you don’t like mouldy showers at this place, knowing that you are NOT the first, no matter what the staff say!!
I wanted to like this place as it is in a great location but it desperately needs a complete refurb and a deep
clean. I’ve stayed at plenty of other places in Australia that have been much cleaner and also much cheaper - there really is no excuse for this.

as a long term guest of over 100 stays i will never stay there again. You would think you would be greeted with a hello welcome back but instead robots that have no personality and hand you totally incorrectly filled out paperwork as they seem lazy
no room service yet the phone has a number to dial for room service where you get an arrogant female on the other end.so no literature in the room to explain anything. if you want a beer then it down to the eatery to get it yourself. i waited 40 minutes to get served along with others. all said never come back here. the hotel is full of air stewards and i bet they get room service

Perfect location, well appointed large suite. So many good restaurants right across the road. Friday and Saturday nights were quite loud from the clubs outside (we were street facing). It's faster to take the stairs from the third floor down than the elevator. Would definitely stay here again.

There was a nice urban ambience at this property. The atmosphere was busy but still personalised to our needs. It was good to be back in the King's Cross area after a long time of not having stayed here. The room was perfectly comfortable and well-appointed as well.

*) Check-in: 14:00 - 23:30; Check-out: 08:00 - 10:00. You can get a late check-out on request at reception without any additional cost.
*) Located a short distance from Kings Cross station and Coles (Opening Hours: 7:00 AM to 22:00 PM)
*) From the hotel it is an easy two minutes to the train station. You can even haul your luggage till here from Kings Cross Station.
*) If you are coming via train, come out of Kings Cross Station taking the Darlinghurst exit on road, take a left, walk a couple of steps, cross the road and come outside Pie-Face, Subway and Coles, all three are almost side-by-side, then keep walking a couple of steps and you will reach Bayswater. Its practically at an angle of 90 degrees from Kings Cross Station.
*) If coming from Airport you will have to change lines at Central Station.
*) You'll have to pay attention not to miss its entrance, its not very evident, there are a couple of steps to reach the reception and the doormat says Sydney Lodges, pretty easy to miss.
*) There are a couple of computers in the reception area that you can use for free internet. When I asked can I bring my own device, they gave me a username and password for my exclusive use which I could use for my 2 day duration of stay (max download limit 1000 MB for two days) which was fine for me, I just wanted to talk on viber at home. The connection speed was good too.
*) Access to some of the rooms like 302 and 303 is via a couple of stairs, and the stairs and the entrance to the room are not well placed. Avoid these rooms if you are hauling luggage.
*) Noise is definitely a problem, random noises in the middle of night which I could not really trace as to where they were coming from.
*) No compliementary drinking bottled water is provided. So you will have to either buy your own or drink tap water. Btw, of all the bottled drinking water options, Coles has the cheapest option called Coles Spring Water, 600 ml bottle for AUD 0.99.
*) Only attached shower in the shower cubicle, not hand-held and no shower-cap was provided. So, ladies if there are days when you dont want a head-wash, carry your own shower-caps.
*) The smallest room I had seen in my entire life. There is not even enough place for two people to open their luggage. Not complaining, but just setting the expectations.
*) No views, at least none from my room.
*) In-room kettle & coffee/tea with mugs were provided, air-conditiong is there. Iron, Ironing board, hair dryer was also there in the room.
*) Security key pad access after a certain time at night. After 11 pm I think, you need to swipe your key to enter the building.
*) Plenty of brochures on tours and trips.
*) Room was daily cleaning.
*) Coles, Pie-face and Subway at a minute's walk on the same road. Coles is a poular chain of super-markets in Australia along with ALDI where you can go for your milk, food, bread, bottled water etc. The Subway also has vegetarian option, Veg Patty. A blessing!!!!!
*) Reception staff is very helpful and courteous.
*) Floor is carpeted.

VERY close to subway, bus, public transit
What is ICC Sydney? Have you tried google maps to see how far away it is?
Hi TraceyJones7,
At The Bayswater Sydney, there is no parking available onsite but we direct our guests to the “The Crescent Carpark” just 3 doors down from us. The address is 33 Bayswater road, Potts Point. It is very close to the hotel (approximately 1 minute walk). The cost is $25 per 24 hours and it is a one-time entry and one-time exit.
Regards,
The Bayswater Sydney
Hi Monika M,
The Bayswater Sydney does not have it's own airport shuttle, however shuttle buses from the airport can drop you at the property. These airport shuttles are a separate company and incur an extra charge.
You can book and pay for a shuttle at the airport when you arrive in Sydney. In the reverse direction, from the property to the airport, The Bayswater Sydney can assist you in booking a particular time.
Kind regards,
Steph
Hi Kassy T,
The Bayswater Sydney has a lift, however as ChDamien mentioned earlier there are a few steps from the street up to the Reception. Please ask our friendly Reception staff if you require help with your bags!
Kind regards,
The Bayswater Sydney Management
