This place seems to also run as a Trannie brothel. There were Transsexual Working girls and their clients roam the halls at all hours of the night STAY HERE? No thank you. This place is not a family safe venue.

Good location, friendly staff, very clean budget hotel. The bathrooms are newly renovated, the furniture is not new but solid and comfortable. Room service is by request and I have fresh bathroom everyday.I would like to back here again and recommended this place like a convenient budget place.

All I can say about this place is don't stay here!! Bed is hard, room tiny, bedding yucky, bright lights come in through the windows all night, and the noise. OH MY GOOD you will not sleep a minute in here. They have a lot of multi-day bookings and will not refund a cent when you realize how bad the...

This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. I was there for five nights. The towels were not changed in that time. The bed was not made and the room was not cleaned. The elactrics were dodgy and the room was the smallest I have seen outside of Japan. The management desk was not manned outside of 9...

Booked the room online for a single night and from the start there was excellent communication. It's a family run business and they went out of their way to assist us as we were arriving earlier than the book in time of 2pm and allowed us a little extra time to leave. The location is great, about 10 minute walk...

My room was spotless with a recently renovated ensuite. The bed was comfortable and the room was equiped with everything I needed. The only problem was window blind which let in way too much light, especially as the room faced a busy road with street and traffic (car) lights. Apart from that, I had a very comfortable stay.

The location as out of the city chaos was good, about a 20 min walk to city and easy bus connection to beaches or paddington. Also just around the corner from fantastic Lebanese restaurants. The room though needs a serious makeover. Lucky it's reasonably clean and has a new ensuite as the room itself is in dire need of a...

The Goodlet Lodge is a decent place to stay in a city where accommodation is pretty expensive. Rooms are adequate, the host was friendly and helpful, it is within walking distance of some decent bars, restaurants and coffee houses and is well located for public transport, i.e the bus stops right outside the door. We did walk to both the...

Location - excellent, walking distance from the main sights and staggering distance from the nightlife in Oxford Street. (Plus of course plenty of awesome restaurants & pubs in Surry Hills itself). Price - VERY cheap (we paid $330 for 3 nights for 2 people - over a weekend, when prices are higher). The bed was very comfy & it was...

I have stayed in some small rooms but this one takes the cake, wow! Hardly enough room to have 2 people stand up at the same time, I reckon it must have been converted from the cleaners closet. Only good point I could say was that the bathroom had obviously been modernised and was nice, was ok to stay for...

Staying in Surry Hills

Neighbourhood Profile
Surry Hills
Once regarded as the traditional fashion area, Surry Hills has broadened its appeal. This neighbourhood continues to distinguish itself as a shopping destination, offering the best collection of one-of-a-kind boutiques, designer brands and flagship stores in the city. Today, this area has evolved into a hub of media, design and professional services - a colourful and diverse place equally known for its antique dealers, art galleries, cafes and pubs. Strolling down the street on a Saturday morning, you’ll see a mix of students, artists, hipsters and a few all-nighters from Oxford Street, the “Gay Capital of Sydney”. In this vibrant neighbourhood you will find bohemian chic and modern style co-existing side by side.
