I chose this property because i wanted something central, and in an area with flat terrain. Sydney is hilly and i don't like slopes. Also, its in the CBD which means its close to the city centre.

I stayed eight nights and nine days. The staff are friendly and very helpful. They gave directions, called cabs etc. The lounge has free tea/coffee service but for some strange reason, you have to do a perambulation of the property to get to it.

I like a view and especially if its a long stay. My view was a yellow wall about ten feet away. I had specifically requested, like i always do, a room with a view. This was a real upset for me.

A major problem in this hotel is that there is no laundry facility whatsoever. Be warned if you are staying more than 2--3 days. They have no in-house service, no laundromat and no guidance on how to find a laundry. Considering that they own a property with service apartments, why don't they earn extra revenue by taking clients laundry there and getting it done. Felix, the manager, said they have no space! Not having to do laundry is a major irritant.

The room cleaning service is excellent. The room cleaner always came to my room around 2.30 pm. This was when i would be back for a short rest. But she had many rooms, so she was always at this time. Her cleaning was superb.

Location, Personnel, Facilites all top notch.

I spent 5 nights at this location and couldn't be happier about my choice. I was in a compact Queen room (and compact it was). I can't imagine this size room for more than a solo traveler but, as such, was perfect for me. The room had a queen bed, a small office table/desk, a compact fridge and a very good size bathroom.

The bed was very comfortable. Room temperature was very easy to control from the wall thermostat. Plenty of hot water was available throughout the day for showers, etc.

I was most impressed by the personnel at the hotel. EVERY SINGLE one of them was friendly, helpful and welcoming. I had a few minor requests for items and they were dealt with immediately and efficiently.

There was a discount offered for payment in cash which I was quite happy to receive.

Located right across the road from the QVB right in the heart of the CBD and less than 200 metres from the Town Hall rail station, makes this hotel an ideal place for people that want to get out and see the sites.

When returning to Sydney, I won't hesitate to book here again!

Stay of 2 nights in a functional room but a little cramped especially for those who sleep along the wall because there is no room between the bed and the wall, the windows do not open because the extra glazing has been installed prevent the windows from being opened. Bathroom very good. Very well located near restaurants and fast food shops, especially Asian ones. The first day the wifi was broken but the hostess very kindly offered me to share her own wifi, the next morning the WiFi was working perfectly again. I was also very kindly lent 2 chargers because our sockets were not compatible. Kettle in the room with coffee and tea, this is also available in the lobby lounge where you can also find water, a microwave and fridges... No restaurant at the hotel so it is not possible to have breakfast unless you use the lounge with your own products. For me, it is a correct and poetic hotel but for short stays Ultimately it is a very correct hotel

Booked Sydney hotel QVB for a work trip. Team members from Singapore, Melbourne, Brisbane, and from greater Sydney were flying in. Spent close to $ 4000 for a Monday to Friday stay for 6 people (5 rooms). The hotel is rated as 4-stars. That was not our experience.

Lobby is cramped and dated, and in a weird location so vehicles can not pull up in front. The lobby “lounge” is a very odd setup and only accessible by going up to level 1 then down again to ground in another lift, despite a walkway being right next to the front desk. Rooms are very dusty, small, and have furniture that is falling apart. Beds are as hard as a rock. Room service only cleans when they feel like it.

I made the reception staff aware of the bed issue after the first night. They said “nothing can be done, we are fully booked until Sunday”. That's understandable due to vivid. However what is not understandable is the complete lack of service.

Room service stopped cleaning on Wednesday. My wife called once and they said they would come in the afternoon, they did not. On Thursday, they failed to clean it in the morning again. My wife then called at 10am, 12pm, 3pm and still nothing was done after repeated promises. We asked again after dinner at 9pm, and they said “you room will be cleaned first tomorrow”. This was of no help as we were checking out at 9am.

I spoke to the reception on Friday morning and explained our experience. The bed issue was surprising as the member on duty said “we could have given you a mattress topper, but some staff are too lazy and say it can’t be done”. That said, he also mentioned there was nothing he could do now, but if I still needed something after checkout, I could email and they would see to it. I highly doubt it somehow.

My colleagues also said the rooms they had were average and uncomfortable. The only saving grace is the location which is opposite the Queen Victoria Building (QVB). This is a great spot to travel from an access the shopping, tourists sites, and work places. Still I will not be booking here again unless things improve significantly.

Good rates to stay in the heart of the Sydney CBD. Special offer for paying in cash, otherwise the normal charge for using credit card. Located near Town Hall and Queen Victoria Building with easy access to shops, restaurants and transport. Compact Queen Room was small but had the main requirements if you are only staying in the room to sleep and out all day - comfy large bed, TV on the wall, small desk and chair, air con, free wi-fi, small room safe, small fridge and coffee/tea facilities, blackout curtains, regular and nice rain shower fittings. Soap and wall dispensers of shampoo and body wash provided, but other amenities like hair conditioner, iron and iron board or dental kit can be requested from Guest Services (sign with list in the elevator). Friendly staff. Reception closed in the early hours but just use access card.

A few negatives. My room was located facing the nearby wall of the building next door (so no view). I requested a view (if possible) but was informed there were no views for my room. I don't think hotels realise how any outlook can make a big difference for some guests to enjoy their stay. If I book again I would check first if a room facing the street was available. Worse and disturbing for me though was the constant humming noise and sometimes slight vibration caused by the air ventilation shafts outside my window (one quite close and attached to the outside wall). It also took a couple of days and some confusion before I received a make up room/do not disturb door sign. Many hotels these days take this lightly and are very casual about such arrangements, but some guests are more comfortable having this sign. Very minor was the cold water barely ran in the bathroom basin which was a little convenient at times. There was a TV entertainment lounge nook in the corridor outside my room which was not used during my stay but I would find that disturbing if it had been.

Overall a pleasant stay but check out the different types of rooms available.

Good location close to trains etc. no parking they push you to park at a location 15 min away and you have to pay cash. There is cheaper parking across the street at the shops. The first morning we were awoken by some really loud noises that vibrated our room, it seemed to be coming from the laundry room on the main floor. Bathroom has black mold and you can see where they just painted over the older mold. Rooms are very small with very cheap pillows and absolutely no ventilation in the rooms. One of the beds had garbage including condom wrappers and other crap from previous guests under it. They insist you only pay cash and it makes you wonder if they are paying their fair share of Australian taxes. Overall we would not stay here again.

I was very pleased with this hotel. Location is perfect, right across road from QVB; light rail now makes moving around so much easier. Reception staff were very helpful. We stayed 2 nights, car parking was not a hassle and relatively cheap. The room was small, but it was clean and comfortable and we only wanted a place to sleep and wash, and it was an ideal base to view as much of the city as we could squeeze in with convenience. It is inexpensive and we are now more likely to take small visits to Sydney and see different sections without it costing an arm and a leg.

My son and i stayed at the Sydney Hotel QVB in a room of 25 square meters. It contained one single bed in one room and a king size bed in another room. The linen and towels were clean and well laundered. The showers were hot and delivered from a large overhead rose or hand shower. The a/c comfortable.
Travelling by train from the country into Sydney Central we had a 2.2km walk and arrived late and tired, we received a friendly welcome from Daphne and were efficiently booked in.
It was a clean, sanitised room and comfortable for our short overnight stay. The lobby tea and coffee room was quiet for catching up on emails.
The location is convenient and we enjoyed an early Saturday DIY tour on the eBikes that are readily available on the pavements in the local area. It was quiet riding early on Saturday mornings through the city.
A short stroll to Starbucks provided a good early start to the day.
On leaving Hotel QVB Bijay bid us a good day and thanked us the staying ..... it is these small touches that keep us coming back. Thank you.

I was booked in to stay one night, a Friday, with YEHS Hotel - Sydney QVB via booking.com, following the end of a work trip week in Sydney. At 3pm that day they rang me to cancel the booking purportedly because 'there had been a collapse in the roof, and the building was being evacuated'. While they offered to sort out alternative accommodation in three hours, noting the outcome would be unknown, they were keen on me immediately cancelling my booking and trust that they would make a full refund. Thankfully I was able to find another hotel and YEHS did give the full refund as promised. However, it was quite stressful and I remain dubious that the roof collapse and evacuation ever really happened.

Whether one is on a one night or multi-night booking, one deserves one's contract to be fully honoured. Unfortunately YEHS fails this basic test.

A great hotel with a great location. Walk across the road to Town Hall Station, under the QVB, ideal to and from the airport.
Cheery staff here. Booking in was fine (cash for discount) and leaving luggage after checkout was easy, too.
Spotlessly clean room. The room was small, but with minimal furniture (bed, desk, wardrobe and fridge) there was space to move around. Pleasantly large bathroom.
Lots of places to eat nearby, safe to walk around, and a supermarket only a 4 minute walk away.
We'd happily stay again. :)
