I'm above satisfied with my stay at this hotel. The staff are SUPER friendly and VERY service minded. I went up to Gold Coast a couple of days, and they let some of my baggage stay in the storage room the entire time (which is something they usually not do). I also got a room with private bathroom for the...

Room was neat. Sliding door to patio did not close or lock. Air con did not work very well. Not plates or cutlery at breakfast. It served the purpose we were after. A cheap room for an overnight stay in CBD.

The Y is undergoing a facelift, which befits a hotel her age - though the name change, from the venerable Y, seems pointless and more than a little confusing. That said, things are on the up and up here. Better service, better attitude, better breakfast (great muesli) but sadly not better coffee - you cant have everything. My room was...

Make sure the price you are to pay is the same as what you booked online as they make their own fees when you arrive. Shared bathrooms are messy at certain times. Breakfast is basic at the moment due to renovations which have gone over the time frame originally noted online.

Thank you for your review. Sorry for any complications with the online booking. Unfortunately we've had a slight delay in our completion of renovations but we will be completed shortly and we will open with a brand new licensed cafe.

Good location, wifi did not work, very simple breakfast (just bread and some cereals, no fruit/yogurt/ eggs or so) noisy Showers and bathrooms facilities could be cleaner, aircon didn't work that well- more like a fan;

Thanks for your review. Sorry for any inconvenience caused. As we are at the final stage of our renovation of the ground floor kitchen we have a limited breakfast service. We will shortly return with a full breakfast with a brand new kitchen and cafe.

This tired and dated hotel is going through an upgrade. In off peak times it still offers value for its location, but don't expect anything fancy. Staff are friendly and helpful. Worth the price for the breakfast included.

1. Good location, low price, great housekeeping staff. 2. Took me exchanging over 20 e-mails to get my questions answered. 3. Haven't been advised that the cot for baby is without a mattress. Instead have been bluntly explained by the receptionist that I should assume the baby travel cot comes without a mattress. He also mentioned that he has the...

Thanks for taking the time to review. Sorry for the miscommunication with the cot and mattress. We will investigate the issue with the fan and the room.

the staff were helpful and friendly, however we had booked this as a family and it is certainly not suitable for families. The photos on booking.com looked far better than the actual hotel was, this is more suitable for backpackers. there was no wifi for the kids and the breakfast room was being refurbished, so unavailable to us.

Love staying at the Y Hotel. It is in such a great location, within walking distance of all the city sights. The price is so affordable and having breakfast included each morning really cuts down on daily expenses.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
The Sydney Central Business District is abuzz with energy. Power brokers run to and from high rise buildings and after-work drink places, high-end shoppers tour venues like the QVB, and fine diners frequent the many celebrity chef restaurants. For a dose of culture, walk to the NSW Art Gallery, or visit the Sydney Museum. To escape the hustle and bustle, reconnect with nature at the Sydney Botanical Gardens or picnic lunch at High Park. No matter your interest, be sure to check the full calendar of events hosted by the city, from the Sydney Festival in January to October’s Good Food Month at Hyde Park.
