I had such a lovely experience staying at this hotel. The room was perfectly sized, clean, cosy, fantastic pillows, and I appreciate that they had the complementary coffee and cookies, many places have removed these little touches. The staff at reception were so warm and approachable. The included hot breakfast exceeded expectations, it's rare to find such a great buffet spread without spending thousands on a room. I stayed at a 'higher end' hotel recently and it felt so stingy, but the Song Hotel felt like they weren't trying to cut costs any chance they got. It was great value for money.

I highly recommend the Song Hotel. The location is excellent -- within a few blocks of the Museum and St. James metro stops, walking distance to Australian Museum, Art Museum of New South Wales, Botanical Gardens, and Chinatown shopping. Easily hop a bus to Bondi or Coogee for sightseeing. The breakfast staff were kind and helpful and quickly restocked missing items and kept the place clean and neat regardless of how busy it was. The front desk staff were always smiling and greeting guests. The hotel management is top notch, I was having an issue (user error) with the washer and the manager came with personally to check into the issue. Washing powder is provided freely by the front desk! The rooms are small but well appointed and kept clean. I would return again no doubt. Also Flora in the Song Kitchen makes a great flat white!

This is an well-positioned hotel it was within walking distance of everything we needed we went to the botanical Gardens and to the aquarium and to Surry Hills for dinner . I found the Song Hotel very clean. Reception and cleaning staff were very pleasant and helpful. The restaurant was very clean and staff cleared and sanitised the tables as soon as users left the tables. There was a good choice of menu for breakfast, eg, continental, freshly cooked English breakfast, fresh coffee/tea/juices. However, the restaurant staff were not as pleasant and helpful. I felt as if I were being a burden to them. The hotel is well situated to access all the attractions and public transports. I used the public transports daily to visit the Opera House, Bondi beach, China town, The Rocks for concerts (West Side Story was spectacular with spontaneous fireworks display). Public transports will accept the credit/debit cards instead of having to buy an Opal card to load up moneys prior to travelling which is very useful. A family member drove to visit me at the hotel and found it very difficult to loca the hotel as the sign was not very prominent. Perhaps, this is something the hotel could invest in better signage? I used the Uber taxi service one evening after the show at The Rocks which is approximately a 4-6 min drive which should have cost AUD 15 but Uber charged me AUD 36. Uber took advantage of the evening and knowing that tourists would not have any other choices.

This is the first time I’ve stayed in the Song hotel and it won’t be my last. This stylish accommodation is situated perfectly, with Hyde Park on the doorstep and the fashionable Surry Hills just a short stroll away. Museum Station is a couple of minutes away with direct links to the airport. I wanted to drop my bag off before 11am but I was actually allowed to check in to my room early. The micro Queen was a perfect size for this solo traveler and the buffet breakfast (included in the price) was an absolute joy. The staff were all friendly and accommodating and even though they had signs posted apologising for renovations and the presence of tradespeople, I barely noticed. I highly recommend this delightful hotel for your next city break.

The hotel staff are very friendly. The room was very tidy, and we were upgraded to a king room on level 4. It was very quiet and clean. The bed and pillows are very comfortable, and there is a big TV that can connect to Netflix; otherwise, it has free-to-air or YouTube. Breakfast was included with the stay, and overall, it was very well-priced in a great location!

We enjoyed our stay Staff were friendly, helpful and courteous.
Bed was comfortable and breakfast sufficient as it provided everything you need.
The bathroom is small so tall people may struggle. However it was clean and well supplied with toiletries needs

This is a very welcoming hotel. The staff were kind and helpful. It has a great location, with an easy walk through Hyde Park to the Opera House. The rooms are small and do not have a lot of character, but they are clean, and the hotel has good free WIFI.
The bathroom did not have a place for toiletries, but that is our greatest complaint about the bathroom. Breakfast had a good amount of choice, and although it was a bit crowded, it was a lovely way to start the day. The hotel restaurant has great food, and we enjoyed our final evening in Sydney there so that we could go to bed early for an early flight out.
For the price and location - with breakfast included - this hotel is a real deal. And a portion of your bill goes to support the YWCA. If you are not hoping for a glamorous hotel with all its perks, this is a great hotel. We would definitely stay here again.

Great hotel and all of the staff were very friendly and helpful. We booked a micro queen room and this was big enough for the two of us. The hotel is close to Museum station and within walking distance to downtown Sydney. There is a breakfast buffet with hot and cold food but it did get busy at times due to the size of the restaurant. The breakfast staff were always busy clearing tables making sure that space was available for guests. The food was very good and my only criticism would be that at times there were no mugs available so had to use a small cup for coffee. That aside the hotel was value for money and we will definitely stay there again on our next trip to Sydney.

The hotel provided everything we needed for our stop over in Sydney. The location is good and we enjoyed the 30 min walk through the park to the opera house. Good value for money looking at other prices in the area. The rooms aren’t huge but as we expected when booking. Only bad thing is that they aren’t very sound proofed so can be a bit noisy with doors closing etc. Breakfast is also good

It would be about a 30 minute walk. Museum train station is 100 metres from the hotel and you could catch a train to circular quay. There are also numerous buses you could catch from near the Song to CQ.
There are more places to choose from in the Sydney area.
