We stayed here for 3 nights, there's no stairs so had to struggle with 2 large cases. Receptionist was useless we asked for help on transport & local attractions & she had no idea, we were asking for the easiest way to bondi beach & she said she had never heard of it. Hotel was right next to the station...

Conveniently located near Wynyard station which at the moment is a bit of a mess as it's undergoing refurbishment as is nearby George Street. Neither is a major problem. Remember reception is in the first floor and there is no lift. When you reach it you'll find an obliging receptionist. If you're early, she'll store your luggage (ditto when you...

We visited Sydney in March 2017. Hotel is very small, nothing special, centrally locating, close to everything. What was good in this hotel is a great help provided by Front Desk person, Shelley. She gave as a some good advises, recommended excursions. We very please to Shelley for her professional service.

City Lodge is a good value for Sydney. It is an old, historic building, which they clearly advertise. They also tell you in advance that you will walk up 2 flights of stairs to check-in. Shelly at the front desk is very, very nice & helpful. She allowed us to store our luggage since we arrived hours before check-in. Our...

Excellent location, centre of Sydney CBD. Small room but adequate for an overnight stay, quite comfortable. Friendly staff and price unbeatable for such a location. Having your own ensuite is a bonus and the room is very clean. The only downside is no lift and narrow stairs which may hamper less able people.

my room was right next to reception. There is no lift in the hotel, so that was good in the sense that I didn't have to carry my bags up more than 1 flight of stairs, but bad in the sense that it was REALLY LOUD. The free wifi was terrible, so I used my phone as a hotspot. The...

Just left city Lodge, lack of doing my own home work a shock to system. 1. No left, no pool or gym. My room was on the top floor. 2. Service is poor, lack of offering service or understanding to customers. 3. Lack of equipment, example one Ironing board and Iron in the Kitchen that services all the rooms. 4....

We arrived around 21:00 in the evening. We were met with a smile and a simple check in procedure. The room was on the top (4th) floor and yes there aren't any lifts available so we did have to carry our cases but you'll only do that the once. The room was spacious enough for a short stay with tea/coffee...

Room on top landing clean enough but very cramped, had to walk sideways round the end of the bed to cross the room. Many flights of steep narrow wooden stairs. No lift. Furniture slightly shabby eg chair with split in side of seat in the reception area, and bedroom walls scuffed in places. Receptionist polite and helpful. TV, aircon, fridge...

This is a good budget accommodation option. It's located right in the center of the city, walking distance to Circular Quay and all the Sydney attractions. Nothing fancy, but has everything you need for a short stay.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
The Sydney Central Business District is abuzz with energy. Power brokers run to and from high rise buildings and after-work drink places, high-end shoppers tour venues like the QVB, and fine diners frequent the many celebrity chef restaurants. For a dose of culture, walk to the NSW Art Gallery, or visit the Sydney Museum. To escape the hustle and bustle, reconnect with nature at the Sydney Botanical Gardens or picnic lunch at High Park. No matter your interest, be sure to check the full calendar of events hosted by the city, from the Sydney Festival in January to October’s Good Food Month at Hyde Park.
