Nestled in the heart of the city, West Hotel Sydney, Curio Collection by Hilton captivates many guests with its boutique charm and modern, tech-savvy atmosphere, although some have called out the furniture for being less than comfortable. While reviewers commend the spotless rooms and high-quality linens, the cozy dimensions of the accommodations are often noted.
The hotel's location is a highlight, conveniently close to attractions and transit, despite nearby construction. However, the service has room for enhancement, and some guests have expressed concerns over value, particularly regarding unexpected breakfast charges.

Detailed Reviews
Stayed here for 4 nights as part of a 4 night stay. We arrived just after 9.30am after a long flight from Singapore, we were pleasantly surprised when we were advised our room was already ready and we could check straight in! We were very thankful!
Hotel room was spacious and bed comfy. Room had everything we needed for our 4 night stay.
We had breakfast each morning, there only seemed to be 2 members of staff most mornings. Both whom seemed a little overwhelmed, with us often asking for a spoon, a bowl or to fix the coffee machine. This was an area that could be improved as the food itself was really good, just needed more staff to avoid guests having to do the asking / chasing.
Location is good, Sydney is under lots of construction but this area is really getting a face lift - great for walking to darling harbour and plenty of restaurants locally.
We would recommend this hotel

Hotel's Favourite
West Hotel Sydney is a terrific value for money. The hotel has a cool boutique vibe which is much more interesting that the usual high-end chains. The property is not far from main attractions, and is walking distance to the Rocks, Circular Quay and George Street. In particular, the staff is friendly and efficient and made us feel welcome, and remembering us from our previous stay! The brunch is good with option for fresh-made eggs and sides. Plus the minibar has free bottled water and snacks which is perfect for a grab-and-go before you head out sight-seeing. Wonderful overall!

Overall I great experience. My flight arrived 7am into Sydney. I called to see if there were any rooms available for an early check in, thank goodness there was!
I checked into the hotel, hassle free and a cheap (compared to US hotels) security/bond deposit for the room of $50aud per night was charged and I checked in. Staff is friendly both at checkin and checkout.
Room was modern and comfortable and all I needed. The only issue was the location of my room was indoor and didn’t like the view outside the window of the indoor “atrium”/courtyard.
Comfortable bedding and good selection of amenities.
The full buffet breakfast downstairs was great and good value for $40aud and had all the standard hot and cold foods but just the right selection and not overly done plus you can order from the a la carte menu.
Overall a good overnight experience after a long flight from the USA.

The hotel is tucked away from the main road which meant better conditions for a good nights sleep, however its location is a little inconvenient from the main areas where you may need to do a bit of walking to get to. The car park is directly opposite to the hotel, and I learnt it's best to book/pre-pay your car parking via Wilsons Car Park website for a better rate.
The hotel lobby and room are aesthetically pleasant and new, and a coffee machine is available in room to use without charge. Toothbrush/vanity kit and bathrobes are available too.
My room did not have a "view" per say, but you were able to see the hotel lobby courtyard at least and it still had plenty of natural light coming through.
Check-in and check-out staff were professional and helpful, I would return if I had events to attend near Barangaroo again.

There is really a lot to be said for this hotel.
Check-in was very quick and professional and then the young lady at reception helped me to organize a helicopter flight, which required time and patience from her.
The room I booked was really small and only recommended for single travelers - not even a small closet fits in it. But that was no problem for me as I was only staying here for a short time.
Another positive thing was that the room was really well cleaned and everything still seemed fresh and new.
Breakfast - always a problem for me in Australia and England - was also OK. Everything a Central European needs was there.
One of the biggest plus points for the hotel is its location - from here everything beautiful and important in Sydney can be easily reached on foot.

Being a Diamond member does not feel special anymore. The gentleman who checked us in was not welcoming. No explanation about honors benefits in the hotel. No info about breakfast, he just seemed annoyed.
We didn’t realize discounts were offered in the restaurant for Diamond members until check out 5 days later.
The continental buffet breakfast was disappointing. Even the upgrade to the hot buffet as not worth the cost, the scrambled eggs did not look appealing so ordered made to order eggs instead.
The only positive about this hotel was the location, walking distance to the wharf, great restaurants and accessible to public transit. The walk to the Sydney opera house was nice. But we had to figure all that out ourselves since the front desk agents appeared more interested in standing around and talking to each other than helping the guests. If you need a place to lay your head, this spot is fine. But if you’re looking for anymore than that, you prob won’t find that. As a result I won’t be returning.

Wow, what a surprise! West Hotel Sydney is part of the Hilton group and doesn’t disappoint. It’s brand new and in such a fantastic spot – only a few minutes walk to Barangaroo, Wynyard Station, Darling Harbour and the heart of the CBD. This was my first stay and certainly not my last.
What did I love:
• Warm welcome on reception from Christine who promptly explored available rooms and found one for me (allowing an early checkin). Hotel Manager Nathan was also incredible.
• The rooms have triple glazed windows so it’s whisper quiet – no street noise at all (and this surprised me given the amazing location). Comfortable bed. Blockout blinds which allowed a sleep-in. Pod coffee machine plus separate kettle. Complimentary water and snacks.
• New iron (with both steam and spray) and full size ironing board. Hairdryer.
• Great buffet breakfast.
• Lots of designer touches, clean lines and back-lit bedroom headboards.
• Great tech including the integrated blue-tooth speakers in your room.
• The bathroom has good lighting (which is rare these days for hotels). Amazing shower – piping hot, great pressure – and Mr Smith Australian made shampoo/conditioner/shower gel (crafted from Australian botanicals and essential oils) which smell great!
• 24hour gym.

I've stayed at the West Hotel Curio several times since it opened and I'm a fan : ) It is a smaller boutique style hotel in line with the Curio brand and has been gorgeously designed.... The designers did an amazing job and the whole hotel is really beautiful.
As it is a fairly new hotel, the tech is good and you can chrome cast easily to the TV's and also connect to Bluetooth speakers in the room. I really enjoy podcasts, so being able to play my podcasts through the bluetooth speakers in the room and bathroom while I was getting ready for my day and showering etc. was fantastic : )
The staff are wonderful here and a special shout out to Sherry at the front desk who has made my last two stays perfect : ) Really appreciate her amazing service : )
I'm a long time Diamond member and do mostly stay at the Hilton Sydney but I also really enjoy my stays at the West Hotel Curio. it is a different style of hotel to the Hilton Sydney but I enjoy mixing it up to something more intimate and also like the change in location. I'm defintely a West Hotel Curio SYD fan and really llove the beautiful aesthetics, modern room tech, Barangaroo location, & great staff like Sherry.

We enjoyed our stay very much. The entire staff (front desk, restaurant, housekeeping) were helpful and made us feel very welcome. The hotel is in a great location where you can access the ferry system within a three minute walk. If you really like to walk, the Opera House, the main ferry terminal (Circle Quay) and the Rocks are about a 20-30 minute walk away. Shopping and many restaurants are close by as well. Our room was cozy and comfortable and the bath and bed linens were really nice. Highly recommend. Kudos to Jake and Sophia at the front desk.

I would like to formally express my dissatisfaction with our recent dining experience at your hotel.
On the first morning of our stay, our friend, who went to breakfast ahead of us, was informed that she could not sit in the main dining area and was seated at a table just outside of it. When we arrived and provided our room number, we received the same treatment. According to Booking.com, a 15% discount on food and beverages was offered to guests, applicable to all food and drink at the property.
Upon our arrival in the dining area, the waitress informed us that we could not use the buffet and directed us to order from a separate menu. The following day, we were presented with our bills before even receiving our food, which was peculiar as none of the other tables had been treated this way. My wife, who is African American along with her friend, found this treatment offensive and addressed the issue with the manager on duty. I am white, and the discriminatory nature of the situation was undeniable.
The manager acknowledged the mistake and apologized, assuring us that 10,000 Honor points would be added to her account and that we would be allowed access to the entire buffet for the rest of our stay. Despite this concession, the experience left us feeling uncomfortable.
Unfortunately, the promised 10,000 Honor points were never credited to her account, further exacerbating our dissatisfaction with the disrespectful treatment we received. Having stayed at many Hilton properties, we have never encountered such treatment and now have serious reservations about future bookings with Hilton.
The hotel and Booking.comneed to provide clearer information about how the dining room, including its continental breakfast and hot buffet options, operates and is billed. Booking.commakes it seem as though the 15% discount applies universally to the dining area, when in reality, there are three distinct options:
Ordering from the menu (15% off for Booking.comguests)
A continental cold breakfast option (fruit and pastries for Hilton Honors members)
A hot breakfast option (eggs, sausages, etc., for Hilton Honors premium members or an additional $10 per day per person)

Thank you so much for taking the time to reach out. I was very disappointed to read of your experience and we appreciate you bringing these matters to our attention. Please accept my sincere apologies for the breakfast experience, which is not consistent with our Hilton values and high standards we strive to maintain, while providing a welcoming and respectful environment for all of our guests. We are deeply disheartened that this is not how you felt during your visit. Regarding the food discount policies, we understand how important clear communication is in creating a positive experience for our guests. We are actively reviewing our internal procedures and the information available on Booking.com to make sure these details are presented more clearly and accurately moving forward. I have followed up regarding the 10,000 points which were not visible on your wife’s account when you checked out. This can take a few days as they require approval and may have been delayed due to the festive season. We have followed up with the offshore Hilton Honors team who have confirmed these point have been allocated. Please let us know if they are still not visible. Once again, I apologise for any inconvenience this had caused and I sincerely apologise. If you’d like to discuss your experience further or have any other concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out to us directly at info@westhotel.com.au I do hope that we will have an opportunity to welcome you back to West Hotel and I remain at your disposal should you require any further assistance. Warm regards, Tiarni Rooms Division Manager

No…please download uber apps…it’s cheaper…taxi will make a big round …so most people in Sydney uses uber for transportation. It’s clearer and no over charge
Sorry I’m not sure I think there are some family suites, most hotels do have done interconnected rooms
Our room did not have one. But I’m sure that house keeping would provide one?
