We arrived very early from the UK and whilst rooms were not available until the afternoon, the staff went out of their way to offer us breakfast and prepare our room as quickly as they could. In the end, we were able to get into our room late morning which was most welcome. The room was gorgeous with a huge bathroom. Lovely tea & coffee options with the most delicious biscuits which were regularly topped up. The amenities offered were top notch - shampoos and shower gels offered in decent sized containers rather than miniatures. The room was very quiet - we didn’t hear one bit of noise during our whole stay. Breakfast were delicious and probably the best we experienced throughout our stay. We were really pleased with the location of Potts Point. It’s a lovely neighbourhood and an easy train ride into the city (only 2 stops). Overall, this was an excellent hotel with lovely attentive service. Would definitely recommend

This was my first time at Spicer’s and I was very impressed with its look and feel, room size, room inclusions (from the iron very neatly stored in its own cover In the wardrobe through to the Panadol and sunscreen for purchase that was provided for purchase). The communal area where you can have a drink before going out through to the dining room serving a delicious breakfast We’re impeccable. I’d highly recommend for your stay in the city - fantastic vibe, wonderful staff and beautifully presented.

I would highly recommend staying here. It was faultless and the staff were so lovely. The rooms are very high spec and have all the added extras to make you feel spoilt. Would definitely choose Spicers over the typical high end city hotels.

$349 for one night for the location and services provided was far too expensive. Our biggest issue was the lack of services. No room service, no restaurant, etc. With everything happening out there at the moment, we wanted to get out of our home and stay put in one place. Unfortunately, we couldn’t stay in the hotel and had to venture out for dinner which proved difficult on a Saturday night.
The location didn’t feel very safe either.
Given the price, we could have stayed at Intercontinental, four seasons or Shangri la for the same or less, with views, bigger rooms and all facilities you would expect when paying that sort of rate.
I understand we also should have done our research before booking. Thank you

Spicers Potts Point was the 2nd Spicers in our Australian adventure having stayed in the sister hotel in Brisbane.

We really enjoyed both hotels, each had their own strong points. I much preferred the breakfast here, a lot less fancy than up in Brisbane. I also preferred the room here but that is only personal choice as both were lovely.

The Spicers staff are wonderful, nothing too much trouble for them at all. My only downside to this hotel is that it is on a street full of backpacker hostels and it is a bit of a walk into the main tourist areas.

Neither of these points bothered us as taxis are readily called by the hotel and do arrive very quickly.

Spicers as a brand have impressed us greatly and would stay with them again at the drop of a hat

Spicers is a luxurious, elegant boutique hotel that is a delight to stay in.
The building consists of three spacious and grand 1880s terrace houses that have been beautifully renovated and extended. Tones of turquoise, blue and green are echoed in fittings, furnishings and stunning artworks (from John Olsen prints and ceramics to superb Martine Emdur underwater swimmer paintings) and the light- and plant-filled atrium where breakfast was served.
Our room on the top floor looked over Victoria Street and the varied terraces opposite to the city skyline, particularly beautiful at sunset and when lit up at night. Although it was facing the street it was very quiet. It was beautifully furnished, the large bed and pillows very comfortable, and the adjacent bathroom large and strikingly modern. Everything we needed was there. I loved the strongly perfumed native plant liquid soaps and the exotic assortment of tea bags.
We loved this room at the top for its views but a word of warning: there are 40 steep stairs to climb and no lift. We were kindly offered a lower room if needed but declined. And staff members also kindly carried our bags up then down.
Talking of staff, they couldn't have been more friendly and helpful.
The three food choices for breakfast in the lovely atrium were delicious and generous, a great start to the day. We imagine all produce is top quality and carefully sourced. We asked about the yummy, slightly mocha hot chocolate and the unusual fine brown-coloured (raw) sugar, which are both Queensland products (I think I remember correctly).
The location is great, only a short train or Uber ride to the city, and with many cafes and restaurants nearby.

This is a very nice boutique hotel with great sized rooms and good service. It’s in a great location for Kings Cross and Darling Harbour.
However, we were annoyed at being charged more than the clearly advertised price on the paper breakfast menu of $15. There was no other price on the menu and it gave you 3 or 4 options plus coffee or tea, for $15. Not so, when the itemised invoice came through it referenced $48 for X2 breakfast and the smallest coffee ever. When contacted the hotel said ‘you must have misread the menu’. Definitely NOT. I’m a very good reader and can assure you there was only one reference to price on that menu and it was $15, Nothing else on there, no small print, etc. I should have taken a photo, which I did think of doing. Disappointed

We like Potts Point very much - especially its central location close to the galleries, restaurants and eclectic neighborhood. The Spicers hotel is 3 Victorian terraces accommodating 16 rooms. We appreciated receiving a text before we arrived letting us know we could check in early to our room and two G&Ts were delivered shortly after we had settled in. A lovely touch. Plus there were cookies baked everyday you could have as a treat after a day out and about in Sydney. We had the King Suite Room 2 which was very spacious, accommodating a yoga mat and weights for a workout, that were provided in the closet. I didn’t establish until the last day that if you required a ghd straightener and curler (which trust me, you will need in Sydney) you could dial and ask reception. What I did find interesting was the bathroom where there is a gap between the closure of the steel glass doors. A curtain is available to pull across for privacy, but even after being married for 25 years, I prefer the door to a toilet closed.

Dear Sheofthebroom, Thank you for taking the time to post a review and providing such wonderful detail of your stay with us. You mention the gap in our bathroom door - this is a building safety requirement and we are not able to change this and it is all of our rooms with the glass sliding doors. We do have a a few rooms where the bathroom is located around a corner, which may suit better. We are delighted that you enjoyed your stay with us and we look forward to welcoming you back to your home away from home soon. Warm regards The Spicers Potts Point Team

4 day stay there at the end of December to allow us to see Sydney’s Fireworks from the water and the Opera House as a Tour and also a taster from Opera Australia. We used both the tube from Kings Cross and Big Bus although the tube better value. We also walked down to Woolloomooloo for a great meal at Manta Restaurant. The Hotel itself has a facade in the Backpacking Area and we did not think it would be so fantastic inside! Tasteful spacious Bedroom with large bed huge bathroom area in a very modern style. Wine tasting and canapés in the evening and an honesty bar after hours. The breakfast dining are well lit with an excellent breakfast and cooked choice. Friendly knowledgeable staff on hand to help. In all a great experience. We went directly from the Airport but I believe there is Valet Parking for an extra cost

Husband and I stayed here while visiting Sydney. We wanted to stay out of the city, in a neighborhood setting. Spicers was perfect. First, all the staff was wonderful. Friendly and accommodating. Katie at the front desk, especially. Our room was spacious and had everything we needed, including a mini fridge. The breakfast in the morning was delicious. you can choose continental or order off the menu. Wine tasting was offered every evening around 5:00, but we were always out so didn't get to enjoy this. There are several good restaurants nearby as well as wine bars that we really enjoyed. what we loved about the location was we got to walk through the royal botanical gardens every day we walked to the city and back. This neighborhood might not be for everyone, but we loved the quietness of it. we never felt unsafe. we would definitely stay here again.

We had a rental car and were able to secure one of the few on site spots which was great. It costs you of course, but that’s to be expected. You’d need to arrange that early though as there are literally two or three spots!
