Agoda, 28 Hotel’s comment, 25/9/2024
We three adults stayed for six consecutive nights, about HK$1000 per night, 35 square meters, 6th floor, Mini Social room.
General facilities are available in the room and free early delivery. Transportation is very convenient, more than ten minutes' walk to the local gathering place.
Most importantly, there is a fluent Guangdong (two-language) receptionist who is very friendly and often helpful.
Additionally, since we have arrived more than 8:00 in the morning, the hotel offers early 11 a.m. check-in service (plus 40 AUD), but because we are going to visit the elderly, she welcomed us, and 10:15 a.m. the room was cleaned for us.

They are enthusiastic and the price is reasonable. Make us feel welcome, really a little not to give up.

The vision of wonderfully fresh, crisp, white sheets cheer the tired traveller immensely.
Square shape of room does away with claustrophobic feeling experienced at other hotels. Pleasing black, grey and white colour scheme. Professional and kind service at Reception.

the location and staff are great. the breakfast snacks and 24 h coffee and fruit are very to appreciate. what could be better. please fix the door because they are so loud, any time neighbour's go in and out, woke me up.
please regularly clean those floor carpets [looks dirty] and use some decent smell for the rooms. I think your AC are long not cleaned. I talk to few people during coffee and all complain about doors sounds and smells.
it is really pity, because you give so much effort and those small thing make people to decide next time to stay with you or not!

It was a reasonably priced hotel even in expensive Sydney. It is a few minutes walk from Sydney Central Station. It is in an alley off the main street, so the area around the hotel is quiet. It seems to have been renovated from an old building, and the exterior windows are old, but the interior has new plastic sashes. The room also has an iron and a microwave. You have to move the microwave to the window to use it, but it is still very convenient. The glass door of the shower booth is sturdy, so there is almost no risk of water leaking outside. I never had my sink or toilet flooded. The only view from the window is the buildings and the train tracks, but that is fun. There is a convenience store nearby, and Central Park Mall is also nearby, so the location is very good. The nearest light rail station is Haymarket, about 600m away. Free capsule coffee is provided in the lobby, and the front desk staff was friendly. I definitely recommend it for business travelers.

Paola was a wonderful front desk host that took care of my check in process and accommodated all my needs and requests.

The internet is fast, the free coffee is good, the complimentary pastries is a nice perk.

I had a king room, very spacious, smaller shower, comes with complimentary toiletries. Cleaning staff is friendly and efficient.

My room was a little warm for September, the AC will only kick in if the thermostat reaches certain temperature- so if you run hot, keep that in mind.

I’d recommend this hotel, good value for price and location

Everything perfect thanks again!! I came with my grandmother and they were 3 dream days, everything perfect, clean and especially breakfast in the morning, which was not included on booking, offered a variety of exceptional snacks. Attentive to every detail and extremely available. The last day I checked out at 10am and it rained all day and they made me wait without problems in the lobby until the afternoon, very kind

It ticked all our boxes being so convenient to central station, easy to get to/from the airport and it’s also very close to where we wanted to be in Sydney to eat/drink/sightsee.
Katia was outstanding booking us into the same room each time, or the ‘same’ room on a different floor.
We stayed there on 4 separate occasions in December and January 25 inbetween visits to other States and countries, and also family visits in Nelson Bay.
We had a Queen Max room which was huge but could have had some more storage space. However we didn’t want to spend much time in the room and we didn’t really need to fully unpack on each visit.
The doors are heavy so we became accustomed to making sure they close quietly otherwise they slammed shut and were noisy.
I took a few things from the breakfast buffet in reception a couple of times and it was adequate for our needs.
We would return here,
The bed was very comfy and the bathroom well equipped and clean.

Lovely place. A little bit overpriced but it's in the centre of town.

I was stupid enough to help an aboriginal woman find somewhere to sleep. All I wanted was to go home. Foolishly while I went out to smoke she smoked in the non smoking room. I repeatedly asked that she wouldn't and to go outside...
long story short...
she refused to pay cleaning fee after I left before dawn to go to work and I hot charged $300 because of Desirae.
Took the last of my money in the account and overdrew it.
Not happy
Not going back now

The location is brilliant and the staff were really helpful, allowing me to leave my bags early, plus it was considerate of them to email me to let me know I'd left something behind. The room itself was very awkward though- there was a microwave and water jug but in order to use them I would have had to use the extension cord into the bathroom or something, and there were no coffee or tea supplies in the room. (I appreciated the complimentary breakfast and coffee machine in the foyer, but it's nice to be able to make a cup of tea in the room rather than hike downstairs). Brilliant restaurants just around the corner. Definitely would return, but would be stealing coffee and tea sachets from the foyer for a late night cuppa.

The average:
The room was very small, which was expected. Barely had space to open up the checked in suitcase.
The bed was on wheels and not secured, so it can roll around a little.
6 power outlets but 3 were plugged in already and 1 was very hard to reach. The lamp was ok but not very bright. An extra power bar for electronics would be a nice to have.
There didn't seem to be a functioning exhaust fan in the bathroom, but apparently there is, it's just fan-less and doesn't make noise.

The bad:
The air con was on the entire time and could not be turned off, which would've been fine except it was a very small room and the wind was blowing right above the bed. Also the temperature of the wind was either too hot or too cold, and the room temperature control was not intuitive nor sensitive.

The microwave was not plugged in and had to be moved from its shelf down to a wallplug as there were none near where it was placed.

I purchased late checkout on the first day of a four day stay, but somehow the hotel staff did not realise that on checkout day and called saying we had to leave.

The good:
Staff were nice.
There's a mini fridge, iron, hair dryer, microwave, kettle, and high speed wifi within the room, which is surprisingly rare nowadays.
The location was great. Right next to Chippendale, Central Park shops, UTS, Central Station, etc.

Overall: decently priced private room for Sydney CBD, if you're ok with an older building with some questionable room designs.

Dear susancZ1776UQ, We are excited to welcome you to 28Hotel. Please see below for some of the best ways to get to us: Train - $17.90 per person, 15 minutes travel time to Central Station. If you take this option getting to us you are best to follow the signs out to the south concourse. From there, we are located a straight 5-minute walk. You can purchase an opal card from the relevant machines. Taxi - Approximately $60.00 depending on traffic, 45 minutes’ travel time. If you take this option, the taxi stand is just out the front of each of the terminals on the lower level. AirBus – Airport Shuttle Bus - $16 per person, 50 minutes travel time. Guests arriving at Domestic Terminal need to make their way to the bus stop, which is located between Terminal 2 and 3. The shuttle leaves the bus stop every 30 minutes.  Guests arriving at International terminal need to proceed to meeting point, located between gates B and C.  Tickets can be purchased from the driver of the bus or can be purchased online. We do suggest AirBus as the best transfer company. The team here at 28 Hotel look forward to your safe arrival.
