Great location and easy access into the building where there’s a lift to get to all of the floors in the building which is great for people who have mobility issues.
In regards to accessibility from the street it’s okay but there’s a ramp that goes down into the 5 minute parking bays directly out the front of the building but to gain access to the footpath to get back onto the main road you’d need to go out onto the street and then wheel yourself up to the corner and then you’ll be fine but it’s a tiny bit hilly but it’s okay.
This hotel was actually listed on the Accessibility Accommodation Australia website as well which was great to see! They are also on Facebook as well. At APX Hotel they have accessible rooms available as well but I didn’t need it but the room I was in is still pretty good as it just has a step going into the shower which just stops the water coming out onto the bathroom floor.
The bed itself is down low which is good for people who need to use mobility walkers or walking sticks and it’s a Queen size bed which is good. There’s also a balcony in every room as well which has a nice view. There’s also a dedicated kitchen with microwave, oven, stove and a full sized fridge with freezer as well which is great to see!
The room I was staying in had a small old television that couldn’t pick up all of the current tv stations as some were missing such as the high definition channels and also 7Mate and 7Flix and 7Bravo and SBS World Movies channel and a couple others. It’s a nice modern hotel right in the city of Sydney and you’d reckon they’d upgrade their televisions as it looks like one dating back to the early to mid 2000’s not 2023 which televisions have improved so much better since then and it also looks like a cheap television too which belongs in a pub hotel room where the rooms cost under 60 dollars per night or a television that belongs in a backpackers hostel instead not in a nice hotel like this! I’ve even got a much better television at home then this old one! It’s January 2023 now not 2010 so time for an upgrade!
The wifi access was pretty good too except I had problems trying to work out which one to connect to as they had 3 different guest wifi options so tried all of them and got one that finally connected to it! Because the other two were connected but it just kept trying to load as the wifi connection kept spinning until I found the correct one and worked then!
I got an automated message when I booked through booking.com and it said that you could download this app onto your phone and it gives you a special key access so you can unlock your door with your phone but I downloaded it as it was called BlueSky App but it didn’t work for me so I just used the cards that they give you when you check in when you arrive.
Apart from this it’s a great hotel and if I’m ever in Sydney again I’ll probably stay here again! Hopefully they’ll have updated all of their televisions in all of the rooms next time I’m here!

2 nights at this accommodation, travelling for work. Location ok in city. I don't tend to go out at night alone in areas I don't know, so can't comment on night life restaurants etc. The man at reception whilst not rude, he wasn't very friendly either. The room I'm in 1002 has a fair bit of outside noise. Someone in an adjacent room just came in, closed their door and the whole wall shook. Bathroom needs some updating as does the furniture generally. Not awful, just not great. We'd call it worn. I prefer to stay places with room service etc, however this was the place work selected, so I utilised uber eats for dinner. Washing machine and dryer available. Fridge, microwave, kettle, sink, dishwasher also available. Small flat screen TV on the table.
Would I stay again, if an alternative was not available in may chose to return. As a lady staying alone I'd prefer hotel rather than apartment accommodation.

I booked well in advance and got a reasonable price for a hot Sydney market. The room was spacious with a good kitchen, only 1 wine glass though. The bed nice and firm, the pillows were big, puffy and horrid to try and sleep with. Great shower but the room is very tired. The pool was a half indoors half out, clean but very cold with no showers or changing rooms and you need to go to reception for towels if you don't want to use the ones from your room. City View room had our balcony looking directly at other buildings, you decide if thats a view. World Square is directly opposite with restaurants, shopping and Coles.

Booking made through 3rd party on a No pay till check in, no bond till check in, and can cancel for no fee up to 24 hrs before stay. 3 weeks before the stay the hotel charged my credit card for nearly the total amount. Leaving me without any funds till it is refunded, which could be three weeks. Cancelled my booking. Hotel won’t mind as hotels in the CBD for that weekend fully booked. Now they’ll be able to sell rooms again for a huge markup, instead of my booking which was at a 35% discount.

Avoid this hotel at all cost: health hazard, filthy, poorly maintained. Complaints ignored, booking.com unhelpful, and hotel dismissive of serious hygiene issues. Misleading advertising, poor value for money. Just filthy and an insult.

Nothing was broken so I guess that’s a positive and the room was fairly large and not falling apart. Mostly clean but heaps of mould/stains in the shower. The complimentary shampoo conditioner etc were clearly someone else’s ones before mine as they were sitting there opened on the counter. And what topped it off, the balcony doors might as well not have been there because the seals let every sound through specially when a road crew decided to work on the street.

We recently stayed 5 nights at APX world Square in Sydney. We booked an executive studio apartment. Instead were put in a tired one-bedroom apartment with a filthy concrete balcony, tired, chipped furniture, dishwasher catch was broken, no tea towels, the tv in the bedroom had no smart features and only 3 working channels. The lounge tv only You tube. The bed was up against the wall requiring one person to clamber over the other. Nothing executive about it nor did it look at all like the photos. I attempted to email the hotel 3 times prior to arrival and had no response. After checking in we made reception aware of the problems with the room versus our booking, they acknowledged it wasn’t the same as we were promised but told us they were full and could do nothing about it. We contacted both APX and Expedia for a partial refund but were told it wasn’t available. Worst customer service we have ever received if I booked a 3 stay cheap hotel it would have been fine but we paid for a much better room.

This was my 6th stay at APX World Square and it will be my last.
Check-in was at least a breeze, the lady scanned my ID and took the bond pre-authorisation, however the issues started when we got to our room.
As usual, the common areas, hallway and lifts had a strange odour, but, again, I was prepared to look past that.
We arrived at our room and I have never stayed in a dirtier hotel. Our room had cockroaches running across the floor, dead cockroaches on top of and inside (yes, inside) the refrigerator.
The kitchen floor was sticky, bathroom mouldy and the walls were full of holes and poorly made repairs.
The couch had stains all over it and the walls were stained with fluids dripping down. The TV remote was sticky.
The bed was made with a flat bottom sheet that didn’t even cover all of the mattress and my pillow had stains on the pillowcase.
Maintenance is obviously not the strong suite of this hotel, the toilet leaked and constantly ran, there were light bulbs missing and the bathroom exhaust fan didn’t even work. The air conditioner did actually work(!!) but the vent was covered in so much dust and filth I couldn’t bring myself to turn it on.
When housekeeping finally turned up to clean the room (at 6pm), they took all our towels. Arriving home after a night out, we tried to ask for more from the night manager, who first handed me an absolutely filthy bath mat (covered in black, brown and red stains). When I asked for a full set of clean towels, he rolled his eyes and made the trip to the basement to collect some cleaner ones.
On our first night, we contemplated checking out, finding a new hotel and just throwing away the $1500 we had spent here. It was that bad.
5 years ago this hotel was great - well priced, great location, clean rooms. Today it is absolutely filthy.
I used to regularly recommend a stay at APX World Square to my friends, now I wouldn’t wish it upon my worst enemy.

I booked 2 2 bedroom apartments for my husband and i, our 4 kids ages 7 and up and my parents. On arrival we were instead provided with 4 1 bedroom apartments. I approached reception to discuss the issue and was told there was nothing he could do. I asked to speak to his manager and he said no manager was available. I then sourced alternative, more appropriate accommodation and he refused to provide me a refund. We had no choice but to stay, we had to split the adults amongst the kids, not exactly the luxury experience you expect when paying $500 a night. When we got to the room it had no wine glasses and the television didn’t work. The staff were absolutely rude and dismissive regarding my concerns and even argued back to say the rooms were just as I had booked. Possibly the worst experience with a hotel I have ever had.

Do not stay here! Rude staff, unsanitary rooms. One staff member in particular was very rude and unprofessional. We had a leak meaning water was pooling on the bathroom floor. The WiFi wasn’t working either. The reception staff member refused to move us to a different room because the only room available was a higher priced room and she said we would have to pay 80 dollars. The cleanliness was poor in our room. After 2 hours she said she’d found another room - it was in an awful state. The shower was unclean, the oven was a health hazard covered in grease and mould. The only suggestion was that it could be cleaned the next day. We went back to the original room - I’ll take a wet bathroom floor over an oven that looked like that any day. The next day we were moved to another room. The shower was grubby and the oven again disgusting. The housekeeping came to clean and it looked no better. There was blood on the pillows and pillow cases in both rooms we were put in. There are flies in all the rooms. The cupboard handles are covered in grease. I have never seen anything like it and have documented all in the photographs. We have checked out early from our reservation. I will be raising the issues with the management team. Have never had an experience like it and can see I should’ve read these reviews before booking as looks like most people have an awful time at this hotel!
