Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I’ve stayed at the Sofitel brand in many different countries and it has always been a great consistent experience. At Sofitel Darling harbour everything from the location of the hotel to the room quality was excellent. I would especially like to highlight the service. I called ahead of time and mentioned that it was my wedding anniversary and they surprised us with a cake and champagne in the room for our arrival. I would like to highlight the occasion ncredible efforts of Ian and Joseph from the concierge who made our trip extra special with their recommendations and bookings of some wonderful experiences. There is some construction right next to the hotel which was a little annoying but the rest of our experience was outstanding.

Loved it. Great views of the harbor, great staff and an incredible buffet breakfast. We feasted on it for 2 days and it was delicious. The rooms are new, fresh and spacious. 5 minutes to the city. Only downside is the huge construction literally right next to it.

I was truly captivated by the breathtaking view and every single detail of this hotel during our stay last weekend to celebrate our anniversary. The staff went above and beyond by arranging a stunning dessert for us, which added an extra touch of magic to our experience. Their impeccable hospitality made our stay unforgettable, and we are already looking forward to returning in the future.

This hotel would suit an older/senior cashed up couple looking for a luxe city stay. You pay a premium for the view and location. Everything else was okay. At $950 for 1 night to stay at level 34 with club millesime access (I'm still not sure what the point of the club access was), the room was compact. The pool area was also a bit cosy. Again, the view is its saving grace. Service was so-so. The Four Seasons would still be my pick if I came to Sydney again, solo or with family.

Bonjour Gloria S, Thank you for your review of the hotel. I'm so glad you got to experience Club Millesime. Guests who book a room with Club access have afternoon tea, twilight beverages and canapes, as well as buffet breakfast included. All of these inclusions are served in Club Millesime on level 35. It is one of the most popular areas of the hotel. I sincerely hope we have the opportunity to welcome you back to hotel again in the future. Kind regards, Greg Brady - General Manager

Our family stayed at Sofitel Darling Harbour to celebrate Chinese New Year. A big shout out to Elmo in the Lounge area who looked after us very well - in particular our elderly parents. All the staff were most attentive and our stay was most enjoyable and memorable with a spectacular view to top it off!

We always look forward to staying at Sofitel Sydney Darling Harbour. It literally is home away from home with the views and stellar service. The kids are always well looked after in Club Milliseme; Elmo Senior Butler always going that extra mile to make each stay even more special than the last. We could spend hours in/by the infinity pool Can't wait till our next stay already

Beautiful property in the heart of Darling Harbour! We stayed here for two nights during a short vacation to Sydney. Our rooms gave us a fantastic view of the harbour, and we were lucky to have stayed during the Lunar New Year week, where the city let off fireworks on both Saturday and Sunday. Our room on the 31st floor gave us an unparalleled view of the fireworks, making it a memorable stay! The pool was something like an infinity pool, overlooking the Darling Harbour. However, the hotel could consider warming up the pool slightly, given that it was too cold to swim. Was shivering inside and had to get out earlier than I wanted to. Aperol hour was fantastic, with the lounge offering cold canapes as well as a variety of cheeses. I loved the free flow Aperol Spritiz, and had too many to count! Special praise goes out to butler Elmo, who provided excellent service throughout our stay and accommodated to our various requests. He even gifted us with a special wallaby toy as a souvenir to take home! He will make an excellent and precious addition to my collection of stuffed toys :) All in all, an excellent stay and would highly recommend!

Very nice hotel and room, to match the price tag. Normally I would not stay somewhere like this however my employer arranged the room so that I could attend a trade exhibition at the nearby convention centre. Floor to ceiling windows, lovely walk in shower etc, friendly helpful & attentive staff... One day if I win lotto I might be back

Being a Platinum Accor member, I confidently affirm that this Sofitel stands out as a flagship among its global counterparts. Every aspect, from housekeeping to the club lounge, was impeccable during our one-week stay. The rooms were exceptional, service was attentive with a pleasant demeanor, and loyalty recognition was on point. We reluctantly bid farewell, looking forward to returning in 2025. Special gratitude to Senior Butler Elmo in the club lounge, whose extra efforts made our Sydney and Australia trip unforgettable. A heartfelt thanks also goes to Nathan from the Concierge team for orchestrating a remarkable dinner at Bennelong. Your efforts are truly appreciated, and we eagerly anticipate our next visit!
