Pacific Bay Resort offers an atmosphere that strikes a balance between modern and dated, with guests praising the spotless and comfortable rooms, although some areas may come across as bare. While the property's amenities receive a mix of reviews, with certain facilities commended and others perceived as needing enhancement, the inconsistency in service leaves some travelers dissatisfied, reporting experiences from exceptionally helpful to disappointingly neglectful. Moreover, the resort's value proposition is frequently questioned due to high meal prices, additional fees, and the outdated condition of some rooms.

Booked an executive hotel room which stated newly renovated, new furnishing and bed head as well as new vanities. The room i was given had NO bed head, vanity was full of cracks and there was two old OUTDOOR chairs which were inside. Both were stained. The airconditioner had not been cleaned for years. The website states you cannot request early check in or late check out due to enhanced cleaning. Mmmmm if this is enhanced cleaning I would hate to see it normally. Cigarette ash on outside table and WiFi awful. Quickly had my room moved when I complained to a room that was clearly much better but WiFi still awful

I was a bit worried after reading mixed review on this property but there weren't other choices for our extended family of 5 during Easter long weekend but all of us had a surprisingly wonderful stay and we wish we could stay longer. We booked a 3 bedroom apartment and it is very spacious and all the rooms face beautiful lake view. All the rooms are spacious and clean and master bedroom looks newly renovated with large walk in robe and a family bathroom. There are 3 sets of bathrooms and toilets and kitchen is well equipped. It was a lovely stroll around the beautiful property and it's very close to the beach. The Big banana is only 1 min drive and city centre is only 5 min drive.
We also loved the buffet breakfast at the restaurant which make our stop over at Coffs Harbour very pleasant.
I highly recommend this report. Kids loved it!

Big resort with golf course, pool and beach access. Nice grounds.

All the accommodation is privately owned but managed by the resort. So all rooms are different in finishes and furniture. So it is the luck of the draw.

Mine was a nice room on the six floor overlooking the lagoon. Lots of red and getting a bit tied but comfortable enough. There was a TV with local channels but no ability to stream. There is wifi throughout.

The main resort building has a restaurant and bar area and also a convention centre. There is a golf buggy available where the staff will take you to your building saying a bit of a walk. Breakfast is available which is a buffet, pretty basic but adequate. Dinner was very nice.

I recently hosted a function at Pacific Bay Resort. My 30 guests, the majority of whom were visitors to the area, all raved about the resort, the staff, the food, the ambience - just everything.

The staff were so easy to deal with. The Reservation Manager worked with me to ensure the rooms my guests had booked would be conveniently located and suitable for their individual needs. The Business Manager worked with me to ensure every detail of the function was perfect, even styling the menu with my celebration branding.

On the night all the function staff were attentive, professional and friendly. Together with the Bar Manager, Restaurant Manager and Chef they worked seamlessly to deliver a high class service.

My visitors also enjoyed strolling the immaculately maintained grounds, spotting the interesting variety of wildlife, the pool and beach swimming options and just relaxing around the Golf Hut cafe during the day. The keen golfers reported enjoying their rounds and the challenges of the course.

Based on my experience, along with the appreciation and positive feedback I received from my guests I can highly recommend Pacific Bay Resort for an event location.

We booked a room through VRBO. The propert manager was Holiday Coffs coast,HCC. It was not rented through Pacific Bay Resorts. Although it is on the property and part of the complex. It was advertised as a one bedroom studio with ocean view. In actuality it was no bigger than a dorm room. The so called kitchenette was a closet and stuffed in the closet was a small bar fridge, microwave, kettle and toaster. Cutlery consisted of 2 plates, 2 cups,2 glasses, 2 knives, 1 fork, and several assorted spoons. The bathroom shower door was broken, the floor of the shower disgusting. We were given 2 bath towels, 1 hand towel and 2 face clothes. A bunch of tea towels to wash all the non existing dishes in the sink that you wash in and clean your teeth. To say the place is a dump is an understatement. The carpet is old and dirty, the furniture is old, the place hasn’t seen a coat of paint in decades. The plastic shades on the lights are broken etc. etc. And they have the temerity to list all the rules of how you are to leave the place when checking out. Subject to penalties!!
The staff at the resort were helpful when we had a hard time getting into the place, even though it is not there responsibly. They were not involved with the rental. We were in the Bayside Tower, unit 2505. So stay away from that unit if offered buy these websites like VRBO and AIRB&B. And to top it off, this unit did not have internet!!!! Who doesn’t have internet these days. Even coffee shops have internet. We contacted the property management who were no help whatsoever. Terrible disappointment. The grounds of the property are lovely. A commensurate rental would have been the icing on the cake. But not to be.

Cheap room for a quick stay. That's about as far as it goes.
Rooms are I'm need of some restoration. Damaged tiles and chipped paint everywhere. Service at the restaurant was great but unfortunately we ordered the Angel hair pasta with chilli/Prawns etc. At $36 a main I expected to see some Prawns in there. I think I found 4 or 5 smallish pieces and I mean a piece was about 1cm big. No chilli that I could taste and definitely wasnt seasoned. One of the Angel hair pasta dishes was in a pool of oil and the other was not. It resembled chicken noodle soup to be exact. Couldnt taste any saffron. Hands down probably the most ripped off meal i have had in a while. Hard to stomach. Our food arrived in 30 seconds so we decided not to stay as the dining experience was over pretty quick.
Also be wary. They make you pay extra money as a security deposit and don't give you your money for 48 hours after checkout. Maybe they should use the interest they make of that money to buy some more Prawns for their menu items.
Avoid the dining experience and head into town.

Hi Mischak741, We apologise you didn’t enjoy your stay or dining experience. The prawn pasta is one of our best selling dishes and feedback generally very good though we obviously missed the mark on your occasion which I am sorry to hear, hindsight is wonderful though I wish you had of notified our Restaurant Manager at the time and the dish could have been remade or changed. We do have a pre-authorisation like most accommodation providers of our size which is released within 48 hours, this is noted at time of booking and in all confirmation emails, I am sorry if this offended you. I hope we see you in the future.

DO NOT STAY HERE. We stayed at the Pacific Bay Resort on the 1st of June 2024. We decided to treat ourselves and stay in a penthouse apartment for the weekend, it cost us $610 for the night. You would think for that much money we would at least get a nice modern room with a working shower. You could either have the shower boiling hot or freezing cold there was no in between!
The room was so out dated, in need of a major remodel, the only good thing about the room was the bed was comfortable.
For that much money you would also expect an allocated parking spot under cover, but no we had to park half way up the mountain.
We had dinner at the restaurant, the food was cold and lacked flavour, we had pizza, which was like the frozen pizza you heat up yourself and the Angel hair prawn pasta, which was gluggy and only had a few prawns that were cut up in it.
The service was non existent, they seemed more worried about setting up for the breakfast then serving the customers there.
The breakfast was no better, cold and sloppy, not worth the $26 per person.
The gentleman on front counter on checkout did not want to be there, and made me feel like an inconvenience when checking out.
DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!

Hello Amanda, We are very sorry the Penthouse was not to the standard you were expecting as it is one of our most booked and liked rooms with terrific views and a heated spa on the rooftop. I hope we get the chance sometime in the future to turn your negative experience around.

Funny how reviews can be so far apart and yet at the same place! We stayed for 4 days with our family of 4, kids 8 and 5. We found the resort to be very relaxing and enjoyable. we found the grounds to be very well maintained, freshly painted, gardens were very tidy and everyday there were groundskeepers and staff working throughout the resort. They were very friendly and happy.

the apartment / adjoining rooms we had were modern, clean and had amazing views. We were very comfortable for our entire stay and had no problems what so ever! Rooms and linens are not serviced however we noted this on booking and could have easily asked for more if we needed them! Staff were extremely friendly and helpful at every interaction.

Plenty of undercover and car parking with an overflow onto a further area for parking ... again not sure what the last review was even on about! Two nights we came back to a full carpark and had a 1 min walk to our apartment.

We ate at the restaurant bar and grill three nights and had breakfast also. Every meal was delicious, pizzas were a hit with the kids. Bar was a hit for us, and even though the resort is a little dated it is very well kept and is in great condition. The kid loved the little games room upstairs that had pool, air hockey and a very games machines. Kids were in for a little treat when the staff bought out some fish food to feed the koi they have in their pond around the dining area. Was so old school, just like our holidays to Coffs as kids ourselves.

I had a 2 1/2hr massage at the day spa and it was absolutely incredible. I love a good massage, and this was up there with one of the best I’ve ever had! Can not fault the ladies in there. Grounds were great for walking and exploring with the kids, they were sad to see the playground was closed but the easy 5 min walk to the private beach seemed to help them forget that! Take a bucket to collect some unique rocks. Lap pool is somewhat heated, kids did swim once but was a little chilly for us this time of year. Next time we will hit the big pool.

We didn’t get to golf but if the kids club was up and running during our stay we would have taken advantage of the great little course they have around the resort. We really genuinely enjoyed our stay, and cudos to the young man serving in the restaurant and bar with the American accent, he knows what hospitality is all about and was so attentive.

We suffered a mechanical with our car on the way through Coffs. Unfortunately the car was due to be off the road for at least three days. Fortunately I called Pacific Bay Resort to check availability, and from that point on we were looked after. Reception were totally empathetic to our situation and arranged a great room, with a great view which we were able to stay in without moving the entire time. We were both stressed about the car, and the staff knew this. We were soon relaxed and made a point to enjoy the time there, which we did. Relaxing dinners. Happy hour. Game of golf. Swimming in the choice of 3 pools. Coastal walks. Everything was just perfect. We could have stayed longer than the 3 nights, but the car was ready. Top score to all the staff at Pacific Bay Resort. Thank you.

We stayed one night
Certainly the place is pleasant in a park with the beach below and birds singing profusion
But everything is old
If you want a fancy motel it’s nice
Otherwise for a 4 star hotel it is not the level
Simplistic welcome
Decent breakfast

From memory, the 1 bedroom had laundry facilities, the studio did not. Don't recall seeing any other laundary there - we had a studio and 1 bed so used the laundary in the 1 bed unit.
