The bed and room were comfortable and the surroundings were great! The main issue was the closure of the facilities. I had booked there due to staying there previously and although I was looking through third party options like Wotif, I booked directly with the hotel. When booking, it would have been nice to be told that the restaurant was closed incuding bar facilities, and the spas were closed as well. We had naturally assumed that the restaurant would be open, and the bar facilities as well. We had planned to stay at the hotel for dinner that night. It was only when we were at reception checking in that we were told that they were closed completely as were the spa faciliites. This would have been great to know at time of booking as we would have chosen somewhere else. Now we were stuck with a hotel out of town with no access to food or drinks and I don't think letting us know that door dash was available cuts it. I think the tariff charged still reporesented full facilities and I dont feel there was any discount on the room given the closure of those facilites. It was ery disheartening and really put a big damper on our holiday. We were both very disappointed. If you had just told us that they were closed upon booking, we could have expected that and made other arrangements or stayed closer to town. That's a bit sneaky.

Loved our stay here. Was clean and tidy and was so happy with all the things for families to do. Gorgeous pools, tennis courts, beach! Close to the big banana! And the dolphin conservation park,Then add beautiful surroundings to the mix equals paradise. We enjoyed a massage each which was the best we have ever had( and I’m so picky and fussy when it comes to this) .lovely lady too and felt a million bucks after it. The gym and restaurant and cafe were all closed due to covid but it wasn’t an issue as there is menu log to cater to all eating needs and self sustaining cabins have everything for cooking and preparing your own anyway. If I could offer any criticism at all it would be that the heated pool is in need of a make over and facelift but that was the only thing and it didn’t affect our positive time here at all.

We booked for 2 nights and liked it so much we stayed for a 3rd. We are almost locals, living only 40 minutes away and thought we’d have a staycation. Our accomodation was very comfortable and spacious with everything we needed. Kids loved the pools. The beach is beautiful and well worth a walk up onto the headlands. We saw lots of bird life from our verandah- fig birds, cat bird and spangled drongo to name a few. Gardens are beautiful. Restaurants on site were closed but this didn’t bother us. Extremely handy to the Big Banana and we recognised a few families from the resort who were at the Big Banana too.

In these unprecedented times it was so nice to be able to travel within our region for a short break. We had stayed at Aanuka many years ago and were happy to book again. The unit was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed for a family with kids. The activities, including tennis, mini golf and the swimming pools were all fantastic for the kids. We highly recommend Aanuka and will be back in the future. Thanks to all of the staff for helping making our stay so relaxed.

We booked this resort at short notice. Lockdown in our area was lifted and we decided to take the kids to the beach for a few days. The resort has a good restaurant and last time we stayed we had a few nice cocktails etc. However upon arriving and after we checked in, we enquired about booking the restaurant for dinner and we were informed all bars and restaurants were not open, because “it’s not worth it to open them with the 4sqm rule”. We were not informed of this at the time of booking, we found out after we checked in. We were disappointed, as we had planned not to leave the resort. The staff were friendly and polite about it, and you could tell they didn’t enjoy having to be the bearers of bad news. We had to go to the supermarket down the road and get some supplies and ordered take away for dinners. The rest of the stay was good, the pool was nice for the kids and the beach was awesome. The room was in need of repair and an freshen up. Most of the blinds didn’t work properly, one was missing altogether. The room had had water damage at some point, and one of the door frame was that swollen up the door didn’t shut, and the skirting boards had all swollen up. Overall not a terrible stay, but we didn’t start of on a great note.
