My wife and I stayed for 4 nights recently and were disappointed with the resort which is not really a resort, it is a bunch of Strata managed privately owned apartments which are rented out. The check in process was all by txt message and if you don't download the site map you will never find your apartment, however the manager on site did come see us just after we found our apartment to see if we got in ok which was nice of her.
Firstly the disappointments, the pools are only open for 2 x 3 hour periods and not in the middle of the day when you want them, this is due I was told by site staff that the strata group being too cheap to pay a young person to be the COVID marshal, also the one pool that was open all day was filled to the brim with screaming kids, you would think that with social distancing in mind they would want all the pools open to spread people out but there was no such thing as social distancing in the main resort pool, being a resort, and paying what we did, you expect to be able to use all of the resorts facilities when you want, also the restaurant is also only open in the mornings and after 4:30 pm as well for dinner and no takeaway is available during other hours so if you want lunch you have to get in your car and drive or order in from somewhere. The room was not good, was not cleaned properly and was not serviced daily which again in a resort is expected, and no pool towels were provided so you had to keep washing towels or ask for more at again an additional cost, there were many maintenance issues with the room, fly screens broken which let in mozzies, the toilet smelt pretty bad, and the shower knobs all fell off when you used them, all in all not worth the price charged.

If we had any positive notes at all the restaurant food was ok and reasonably priced, and the beach was close and very nice, the grounds are also well kept and it's easy to walk around the site.

We were disappointed with our visit and believe that
this " resort " is not a " resort " at all but just a bunch of overpriced apartments, unfortunately we won't be back !!!

We booked a weeks stay at Charlesworth Bay Beach Resort through Luxury Escapes in November. Even though we got a great deal we were still a bit nervous after reading some of the reviews.
Finding our room was a challenge as some signs showing where rooms are located are hard to find, luckily we found someone to help us.
While the rooms could do with a bit of an upgrade it didn't impact on our stay at all. We booked 2, 1 bedroom apartments, each had a small kitchen, dining and lounge room, spacious bedroom, bathroom, laundry and large balcony.
They also provided toiletries, washing powder, dishwashing tablets, detergent, tea, coffee and small packs of biscuits.
Lovely view from our balcony overlooking the golf course which we played on each morning. If you're planning on playing whilst there get a weekly ticket, $50 for seven days. Only one of the pools were open due to covid but most people went to the beach which was a short walk from the resort.
We enjoyed our stay there and would happily go back again.

I booked a unit with wifi for 2 nights. On arrival I found that it had no wifi. As it was late I did not bother the manager. On presentation the room was clean but the bathroom was 'tired' although clean. The end was comfortable and TV only had free to air stations. Due to the weather we did not explore the ground. However they looked very expansive and there was a large pool. Our room was on the 2nd floor and quiet. Air conditioner remote needed a new battery and the door to the balcony was jammed (found this on our last night) Luckily we did not need the balcony due to the weather. I spoke to Barry on the next morning andI was offered to change rooms for the second night as the room we were in had no wifi. I declined due to the short time we were there. Manager was very apologetic and friendly. I understand that all the rooms are privately owned and that there is a difference in each room in relation to inclusions. In contemporary hotel rooms wifi should be an inclusion. Owners need to upgrade rooms to modern standards. My room was 2205

Had a medical appointment in Coffs that necessitated an over night stay and we booked a room at Charlesworth Bay Beach Resort. Lea from reception got in touch with us to over an upgrade for a very reasonable amount which we accepted. The two ladies in reception were excellent and offered personalised service to ensure you enjoyed your stay no matter how brief. The room we had was great with a view of the lakes and golf course and was well appointed with all the things we needed. Just a few things like salt and pepper, cooking oil and kitchen paper would have been helpful - over wise all good. We'll stay again and recommend it highly but get in touch and go for the upgrade!

My fiancé and I wanted to have a nice getaway in a resort for a couple of days; we have stayed in a few resorts previously and really enjoyed how cosy and relaxing each of these places were, so we decided to give Charlesworth Bay a go as it looked great in the pictures on the booking website.

So for the pros: the resort itself looks stunning. There are several hotel buildings around a perfectly landscaped area, which is really impressive upon first view. There was also plenty of parking on the bottom floor and a nice view from the balcony in our room. Barry and Bodie, the hotel owners/managers(?) were also easy to communicate with and helpful and even sorted us some free wifi in response to the issues we experienced (which are below). The location is also good as it is a short drive from the big banana and Coffs Harbour.

Now for the cons: it was difficult for us to actually find our room. It is self checkin so we had to follow a short text to locate our room, which was difficult as there are several buildings around this complex and we didn’t find ‘Charlesworth Bay Beach Resort’ on any building. Although Barry was helpful when we called him, it was still frustrating.

The room itself was also quite lacklustre for a resort; it just looked very outdated and dull, which especially bothered my fiancé who was really excited. There was also a strange musk from the fridge, several tiles in the shower were chipped, and there was a code on the bedsheets. The cleaners also opened the door briefly before knocking, which could have been quite awkward.

Furthermore, we also barely saw another person on this resort for most of our stay, which just felt really unusual; perhaps this was due to the current context or season but was still very odd and only left an awkward feel to a resort. On top of all these issues was the price, which was expensive considering all these above issues.

Overall disappointed with the resort experience and will most likely look at other options around the area for our next visit.

Booked an Executive spa 1 bed apartment. for 3 adults. 2 in the bedroom and one on the sofa bed in the lounge room. Charlesworth Bay Resort seems to be a separate letting pool to Pacific Bay Resort and navigating the substandard signage to find the reception took a bit of effort. Generally the identity of the resort is confused and unclear. Be that as it may, the location is stunning, situated on top of a block of terraces facing north with views down the valley to the sea and across the resort and golf course to heavily wooded hills.
HOWEVER, the accommodation seemed battered by a succession of schoolies parties. The maintenance issues were numerous: Heavily stained soft furnishings. Screen doors that were just about unserviceable. The shutters that divided the living room from the bedroom had been bashed off their tracks, the bedroom door to the balcony was jammed shut and took some ingenuity on my part to fix as did the shutters. The tap handle on the washbasin was unattached. Spa bath was chipped. Balcony tiles were cracked. Outdoor furnishing consisted of 2 chairs and small tables - hardly enough for an apt that can accommodate 4. An indoor dining chair was so rickety as to constitute a real danger to the user. The covering of the bed base had rotted to the extent that it was just a few threads hanging down. General paintwork was scuffed and dirty. TV did not have free to air and you will need your streaming service log in if you want to see anything on it. Bedroom door was binding and wouldn't close. Kitchen was undersupplied with mismatching cutlery etc. Night time ambience is zero as there is only one table lamp in the bedroom and nothing in the living room. Overhead lighting is fluoro lights that make everyone look dead, so we dined by our phone lights. Light switch in bathroom is unattached to the wall and actually slides around when you use it.
Overall, the presentation of the unit was well below the product description. Our two day stay was only saved by the fact that we could sit on the balcony, ignore the catalog of disappointments inside, and enjoy the fabulous view. Also, despite the condition of the bed base the sheets were good quality and the bed very comfortable. Once we had unjammed the bedroom door we could lie in bed and listen to the sea!
The resort restaurant on the lake is a highlight, despite a limited menu and opening times. (No lunch service? Really?)

Very helpful management. Resort all seemed well maintained. Golf course challenging but in great condition. Our 1 bedroom spa unit with full kitchen and laundry had everything we needed ( very generous with included detergents)and was all in great condition. I had downloaded the resort map which we found easier to follow than the text link? Parking undercover almost impossible but lots in open area. Cafe COVID safe. Close drive to Park Beach shops. Would recommend!

Not a resort! A collection of badly managed and poorly maintained rooms owned separately within the Pacific Bay Resort with no reception or sign posting. You collect your key from a key box. Our room was cleaned by the owner who was staying next door, she started knocking on our door 15 minutes before scheduled checkout time and when I went back for our unopened bottles of wine, she claimed she had already thrown them out!?! We then moved I to a much nicer room at Pacific Bay Resort which was by far the better option! - and a proper resort with reception and friendly staff and amenities.

The staff were amazing, friendly & very helpful. We were a family group staying over the Christmas period. The rooms that were allocated were extremely outdated. This building needs a huge refurbishment. The room had cracked and broken tiles, the bathroom window sill was covered in bugs, dead spiders and spider webs. The balcony glass sliding doors didn’t slide freely and didn’t lock. For the price you pay - obviously paying for the ‘resort’ facilities - golf course, tennis/basketball court along with salons. I didn’t see value for money. The pool facilities are well maintained and offer plenty of room for lots of families however, not all rooms were allocated a pool gate key - inconvenient having to get someone to let you into the pool gate each time you needed to go for a swim. The children’s play park wasn’t maintained therefore we didn’t use it.
There isn’t enough car park spaces both undercover and outdoors for peak period guests. I am certain there would be apartments way cheaper and nicer than this place, I’d definitely shop around.

My wife and I booked a stay at the Charlesworth Bay Beach Resort several months ago as a break from routine at home. Although initially tedious to find and gain entry to the resort, we eventually made it due to the courtesy of the resort contact we were given and were impressed with the overall amenity of the entire complex. The room we were allocated was clean and well-appointed, had a very pleasant outlook, and we enjoyed our stay very much. We enjoyed breakfast and dinner several times at the nearby Bayside Bar and Grill, enjoying both the food and the stunning views. We would go again if the opportunity arises.
