Detailed Reviews
This hotel is located in a great location, close to all shops, restaurants and easy access to all of Canberra’s sights. The hotel itself is in a tired old building and the rooms are dated. Not the cleanest place to stay, bed not very comfy, the lift belongs in a museum, and cost cutting evidenced in the fact that you only get half a scourer and kitchen wipe (no kidding, they’re cut in half!), good wifi but TV the size of a computer screen. On a positive note, staff were friendly and on-site parking is available (at $20/day, and a bit tight), Heaps of eating options in the same building, although downside is the hotel lobby always smells of cooking. Overall, if your main focus is on getting in a great location, for not a lot of money, then this is your place.

The location of Quest West Row is great for exploring any part of Canberra with many attractions within walking distance or close to public transport options.
The one bedroom apartment was sufficient for a three week business stay but the WiFi wasn't very reliable. Cooking, washing and entertainment facilities were good.

This is a stock standard Quest apartment, with all the mod cons. It’s in a good location in the central city area. It’s an older building that has been renovated to house apartments, and whilst the apartments are modern, some of the lovely period features of the building have been maintained. The one bedroom executive suite has a large balcony. The air conditioning was very efficient and quite.
The only downside is that any noise outside in the halls…other guests coming and going…can be very clearly heard. (In my case, several guests had returned and had a long, loud conversation in the hall, at midnight) You can also hear the noise from the outside restaurants and bars, but it wasn’t loud enough to impact my stay.
Parking is a bit hit and miss, at the back of the building. It’s relatively inexpensive during the day and is free from 5pm-8.30am.
I’d definitely stay here again. I recommend paying the extra for the executive apartment. It was well worth it.

I am writing regarding my recent stays at Quest Canberra West Row during December 2024. While the hotel's central location and spacious rooms are commendable, I encountered several significant issues that severely impacted the quality of my stay.
The most disruptive issue was the noise pollution from a bus that regularly parks beneath the rooms at 6 AM. The vehicle's diesel engine runs continuously for over 30 minutes, making sleep impossible during these early hours. Despite reporting this to reception, no action was taken to address this ongoing disturbance.
The parking area at the rear of the hotel presents serious safety concerns. The area is characterized by overflowing garbage bins that attract individuals searching through waste during late hours. This creates an uncomfortable and potentially unsafe environment, particularly when accessing vehicles during evening hours.
Additionally, I observed concerning hygiene practices, specifically housekeeping staff using the same gloves for cleaning bathrooms and making beds. This practice raises serious health and sanitation concerns and suggests a lack of proper hygiene protocols.
These issues are particularly disappointing given Quest's reputation. As a result, our company has decided to seek alternative accommodation for our planned multiple room bookings in March 2025.
I hope this feedback helps improve services for future guests. I would appreciate your response regarding how these concerns will be addressed.

The only good thing about this place is the proximity to where we had to go to work. Room was small, bathroom grubby, very noisy as it was on top of the restaurant which made banging sounds until late into the night. The air con in the room was very noisy and when it stopped, one could hear the noise from the restaurant kitchen. Then when it started again it would wake us up. The kettle was dirty with burnt on food. I cleaned it very easily by boiling dishwasher powder in it then letting it sit. Quick scrub and it was ready for the morning. Didn't get to use it bec, thankfully, a cafe with excellent coffee opened at 6:30 am just around the corner. The pillows were flat and the bed was in need of a change of mattress. Very uncomfortable. Wi-Fi was good and fast. You must book the $20 A day outdoor (back lane) parking. The whole place needs a full refurb. It is akin to a 2 star motel at this stage.

The room at Quest West Row in Canberra was really noisy both nights I stayed there. It has no soundproofing and is near an all night bar. The music wasn't so bad, but the screaming and general shenanigans in the street were so loud and weird it was hard to sleep. Other guests said they had the same experience. For the price point of the 'executive suite' I didn't expect so much noise. I've slept better in Bangkok! The apartment was otherwise fine and the staff were very professional, helpful and nice.

The parking that i paid for was an absolute nightmare, sent to offside parking not booking, unhelpful and rude staff then back to hotel.
Internet/wifi was a joke couldn't even download emails used my data to hotspot just to connect to work account.
Although the room was lovely woke up with massive headache and feeling like throwing up all day because of the highly potent pain smell.
Would not recommend, staff cam smell the pain and know its unsuitable to sleep people in those rooms.

The shower cubicle had filthy moss throughout tile grouting and was disgusting in appearance. A bedside light didn’t work, asked for it to be fixed but there was no action. The mixer tap stand above the bathroom bench to handbasin was loose and shaky, badly in need of remedial action, but seems they didn’t care. The miserably small TV in the room couldn’t be turned on. The corridor from our room to the foyer had dead and dying palms in pots, obviously no one cared. The onsite parking area was dirty and dusty, and the security device required you to drive out to lock it. The rear entrance had smelly rubbish bins nearby and an opened door into a restaurant kitchen. This place trades off its CBD location. The rooms need significant renovation and repairs, and clearly the franchise couldn’t care less. We will NEVER stay there again.

Great location. Spacious room. We only stayed for one night on a saturday night.
It's in a Lovely old building. The executive suites have large balconies overlooking the street. We parked on the street public parking is free on weekends and there are some spaces directly infront of hotel entrance which was very convenient. Minor issue wirh bathroom exhaust fan not functioning so smoke alarm kept triggering. I informed reception at check out. Bed was comfortable. Reception staff were good.
