On arrival the unit was not cleaned to a good standard(hair in bathroom, kitchen etc. There was a dirty cotton bud in the cupboard and the kitchen cupboards were grubby.Spoke with reception who informed us cleaning were gone, however we watched them put their gear away and head off afterwards.Offered us another room, which was a little better, not worth moving. After my wife spent 45 minutes giving things a good clean, things looked much better. It was a shame reception didn't think to offer a little help!!
Fridge broke down and althoughj they wanted to get a repairman out, weren't that fussed about the food we had to throw out!! Was told "these things happen".
All in all if it was comfortable and we enjoyed our stay. However due to the fact the apartments seemed fully booked near enough seemed good enough. Clean ing staff need a wakeup, they did look a little too relaxed when the younger girls(cleaners) were sunbaking at the pool!!
I was impressed by the space - I was given a 2 bedroom apartment at the price advertised for a 1 bedroom. Kitchen, bathroom and laundry room all good.
Good quality TV with DVD player. A minor complaint is that there could be a better range of cooking equipment & utensils. Good daily cleaning service, high standards. Swimming pool, BBQ and tennis court are also available on-site.
The thing that I really liked was the location - only a minute's walk from a wide range of shops, cafes and restaurants in Kingston, 15 minutes walk to lots more in Manuka; also within an easy walk of the lakeside and also the Sunday craft market.
Biggest issue: the day was 30 degrees Celsius so quite hot. Upon arrival we turned on the 1 and only air conditioner & put it on its coldest temperature which was situated in the lounge we made sure we also left the bedroom doors open to try to cool the bedrooms down, we then went out to dinner. 2 hours later we arrived back and the lounge was quite cool, however when we wanted to sleep the bedrooms where oppressively hot. The rooms remained hot and it was very difficult to try and sleep, there are no fans so there was not even any air movements, after 11pm we opened the bedroom windows as there was a slight movement of air, worst night sleep in a long time.
There is no restaurant on site so forget breakfast unless you are prepared to go down the street. There are options in a short walk but none were open early.
You can hear everything upstairs and downstairs. Very noisy.
"Be aware that there are LOTS of stairs and NO lifts. If it's hot weather the bedrooms will be hot."Read full review
"The 3 bedroom apartment is not suitable for easy access if using stairs to the front door is an issue."Read full review
