Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stayed here for one night on our way to Sydney. Friendly, efficient service and a great view from our 7th floor room. Very conveniently located and underground on-site parking is $15. Bed was comfortable but we could have done with some extra pillows since there were only two in the room. We got a great deal and would definitely stay here next time we’re in Canberra.

This hotel was heaven on earth for us as we made a dash to escape the bush fires on the south coast of NSW. I made the booking in the car after we evacuated. From the first phone call, we could not have had a better experience. Every person we spoke with was very helpful and understanding of our situation. I cannot commend the person in reservations highly enough - she was an angel. Assessed our situation and came up with the perfect solution
Upon arrival the staff were friendly and checked us in quickly our rooms (two families traveling together had 2 x 2 bedroom suites) were spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The restaurant was unforgettably closed but we were directed to several places to eat - all very close. the beds were all very comfortable and the shower had great water pressure I'd definitely return if I was heading to Canberra

I have stayed at the Mantra MacArthur on previous occasions (before the Covid shutdown) and found the hotel to be great. However, this stay was different. The price was great. But there was no daily housekeeping. When we asked about this we were told that the government had requested that the housekeeping be limited to 'Weekly Housekeeping' to prevent any Covid spread, fair enough. Only thing is when we made the booking on line there was no mention of the fact that there was no housekeeping. I believe that this should be clearly stated prior to finalising bookings. Next - the carpets in the corridors and in our room were horribly stained, the floor of the lift was dirty for the entirety of our stay and the coffee cups in the room had not been washed thoroughly. One cup had a hair in it and the other had coffee stains. It was disappointing to think that basic cleaning practices were not to a better standard. I do hope that these problems can be rectified.

Clean quiet rooms. Plenty of light. This hotel is located slightly out of the city (Turner) but a frequent fast tram service can take you to Gunghalin or Civic - soon extended to Woden.

It is a 20 min walk or a 2 min tram trip to Dickson Shopping Centre

I have stayed here twice for work once in November and again in December. The room was modern and clean. Bed is very comfortable. Staff on reception were lovely. The hotel is just down from the middle of the city but that means it’s not too noisy. I had the buffet breakfast in the morning which had a small but varied selection of food. I had dinner in the restaurant one night and the food was delicious and staff were attentive. I ended up staying at a different hotel in January because I wanted to stay closer to the city center and I regretted my decision. Next time I will be staying here again.

Clean rooms on top floor with views south of Canberra, Staff professional, helpful, friendly. Parking problematic. Room small, furniture and furnishings minimalist. Establishment has no ambience or atmosphere, very clinical. We felt we were in a private hospital, the only difference was a queen bed rather than a medical bed. Very disappointed, not value for money, could not recommend staying there

Our rooms were clean and comfortable and well located but we were disappointed by the room configuration for our suite. As we were staying with children we expected easier access between our two rooms not two heavy doors to our rooms which were off a common foyer. We were also expecting to be able to access breakfast in the dining room. After our inquiries at reception we were offered access to toast croissants or coffees or suggested that we access a cafe in Braddon. This latter suggestion was not practical as we were travelling with children and had morning commitments to attend to. It was also disappointing that the cafe next door to the Mantra was closed.

The original room was ridiculously small for $243.00 per night so i had to pay an upgrade for a bigger room which was a much better size but very noisey. All the street noise came straight into the room. Small fridge, small TV, small couch. Beds were very good

Personally found it very strange that the restaurant/Bar wasn't open when the customers need eat. Was recommended to have breakfast at the coffee shop next door however they don't do proper breakfast, just snacks/Takeaway. When it came to dinner there isn't much around for walking distance. I understand that this could be due to Covid however this needs to be stated on the website. False advertisement.

I arrived to my hotel room and it wasn't 100% clean. The room and bathroom bins were still full from the previous people. Also had some things in the fridge....

My room didn't get cleaned through out the stay... This could be due to Covid but please make sure you tell us before hand and remove the "Ready to clean my room" sign and the signs in the bathroom saying what to do if you want new towels.

If you just need a room for a night for a business trip then it will do.
