Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Family group of 4 adults and 4 children staying in Spa Villa 413. Pros: - Designated parking directly in front of the cabin fit for 2 vehicles - Large open grass field outside - Friendly and helpful staff - Dickson and Watson shops all within 5 minutes drive away. Petrol station less 2 minutes away - All the necessary amenities to make it feel like home: Fridge, Cook top, oven, grill, plates, pots, pans, utensils, kettle, etc - A/C with reverse cycle for heating - Comfortable beds: Bedroom 1 had king size, Bedroom 2 had 2x bunk beds (good for 4 people) + 2 single soda beds in the lounge room - Jacuzzi was a nice touch - Affordable, considering our large group Cons - 2 or 3 light bulbs needed replacement as they were not working on flickering - Heater is a hit and miss. Works most of the time, but can stop working in the middle of the night. Overall, a great place to stay and I would do so again.

Totally disgusted with used soap and empty bottles left in the shower, cutlery draw dirty and hair all through it So before showering I had to clean the shower soak the cutlery and scrub the draw just to make sure it was all clean I get this isn’t a five star stay but the basics of a clean shower and kitchen items are a must Will think twice before returning to stay here Grounds and outside neat and tidy and not far from attractions and great for kids

We stayed 3 nights in a 2 bedroom cabin which worked well for our family of 5. The main living area was big and had everything we needed. Reminds me of staying at one of the cabins at a Big4 or caravan/holiday park - nothing fancy but functional. Apartment was clean, towels were good. The kids enjoyed the spa tub! Floors were a tad sticky but otherwise good. A value stay for families who want parking right out the front. There is construction going on behind the property so not sure if it can get noisy, but they weren’t working when we were there. The ladies at the front desk were very nice!

Stayed there for 3 nights this week as I was running a training course in the Dining Hall. The staff were exceptional, couldn't do enough, available whenever for any query. The Dining Hall was heated, large enough to keep socially distant for a group of 16. Took me a day to find the light switches but I could have asked. Sanitiser was provided, large screen TV including cables. Only 1 toilet for group, but it wasn't an issue. Villa room accommodation was fine, no idea of cost as company paid, 2 bedrooms with full kitchen next door to dining hall. Clean, appealing, every thing I needed was there. Comfy lounges, large dining table enough to work and eat, seated 6. Vehranda with table and large seat. Parking out front. Leaking tap which I remembered to mention at the end and was told I should have said and they would have fixed it. Nothing was too much trouble. A lick of paint would be perfect and I noted this happening progressively with empty villas.

The Canberra Carotel is good value self contained accomodation for families. We're a family of five and the cabin at the Carotel fitted us really well. We stayed for a week and the room was serviced mid stay which was a nice touch. The cabin was spacious and warm and there was enough room for everyone to not be on top of each other. This is not a place to stay if you don't have transport though - it's about a 20 minute walk to the light rail and further to the nearest shops. That said it's great to be able to park outside your cabin, especially with a family who seem to bring everything except the kitchen sink. We would definitel stay here again on our next trip to Canberra

Arrived with our very tired three children after traveling 5 hours to be given the keys to a room that had clearly not been cleaned. Beds were a mess, towels on the floor and leaves all over the carpet. I complained at reception and she was apologetic. We were then given the keys to another room which was apparently an upgrade. Walked in to an awful chemical cleaning smell and a housing commission style cabin which for we completely outdated. The walls were so marked and fithy. It was freezing cold and the reverse cycling air con did not work. So disappointed!!! We decided to leave and head home. Unfortunately no other accommodation in Canberra in our price range (under $200 per night) for that evening. We booked last minute but I’m sure there must be better places around! Our children were so upset but what can you do? Happy we at least got a refund.

The first time I have ever rated anywhere this low. Horrendous!. Had great memories of this massive rural carvan park resort. Now surrounded with a construction zone possible a whole new suburb. Just cabins plonked on a asphalt carpark surrounded by wire barriers. Well overpriced. Paid $265 for a cabin. Same $145 elsewhere. Woken up 7am exactly by BEEP BEEP BEEP of compacter machine not 2 bloody metres from our bedroom. Dont beleive me just look at the photos taken out bedroom window. Had a spa with black mouldy marks and was then vibrated by a land scraper 3 metres away. Close it down and move on guys. Not fair on the customers. And secondly its freezing cold Canberra , dont be so cheap as to connect aircon to key switch. This means if you go out at night you have to come home to an icy cold cabin. Skylight above spa full of dust and dirt from next door. Cracks in bedroom wall If not there for only 1 night would have left and gone elsewhere fast! Think Im too harsh , then just look at the photos yourself.

I stayed in room 206 family room.. clean white towels and linen.. was very basic and old but clean. staff were all friendly .. food provided was typical school camp food no complaints with provision made for alternative dining needs. I would rate this as adequate for a family that was just sleeping there and out all day. a three star

they closed the caravan park down at the end of JUne 2017, they still have cabins and motel rooms. This park looks like it has not been updated since the 70's. When we stayed the caravan park was still open, it was basic. It was clean. It was easy to get to the shops and into Canberra. I have not seen inside the motel rooms or the cabins, the door was open as I walked past and they looked small. The park for what it was to me was expensive compared to some others we have stayed in, they was nothing there, no pool that I could see, no playground for children.
