Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Avoid. Tiny room in the middle of nowhere which is not suited for Business stays. Maybe good for a quick and cheap overnight but that would be it. Was woken on several nights, one in particular at 1am by a lady who rattled the crap out of the already loose door lock. Played hunt the PowerPoint and enjoy the rock and roll music from the tiny fridge. I was surprised to see people living in the carpark in rooftop tents. Maybe they were sharing toilet facilities.

Hotel's Favourite
The staff her win our prize for the best, friendliest and most professional of any hotel we have stayed in over 25+ years travelling around the world for both work and holidays. The duty manager was exceptionally good. It's a budget hotel, but the staff are five star quality. We have experienced far less professional staff in much more expensive hotels worldwide. Yes, the rooms are basic and small, but clean and functional.

Stayed for 2 nights on our way to Thredbo. Location is perfect on a quiet street and service station close to it. Rooms are spacious and clean. Staff are attentive too. There is a store for commonly used items which added to the convenience. Only downside is parking can be very busy at night. Trucks park parallel to the parking spots which occupy a lot of space. It was a good stay and would come back on our next trip to Canberra.

Pretty good value as purchased on ACCOR App Red Room Special. Got what you paid for. Staff were friendly and very helpful. Prompt attention and follow through to add another day and arranged the same room to prevent any disruption, Clean except for smell emanating from drain in bathroom.

I know it says budget in the name, but you at least expect the room to be clean. The room was tiny. There were stains on the wall along the top bunk and hairs on the sheets. Would not stay here again despite the budget price. There are better options in Canberra.

Good afternoon Greystonian, Thank you for staying with us and for taking the time to provide us with some valuable feedback. My sincerest apologies that the experience fell below your expectations. The housekeeping team work extremely hard to maintain the cleanliness of the rooms, though I will be speaking with the housekeeping manager to see what we can do to further improve. This is definitely not our usual standard. We appreciate your sharing your concerns, and it is our hope that you will give us the opportunity to better serve you in the near future. Kind regards, Matt Parkins General Manager

Luxury it is not, however it’s clean, has good beds and linen, a small fridge, TV and yea and coffee with a kettle. Great for a quick stopover. The receptionist is wonderful!! Lots of parking and a BP on the corner, a quick drive to the local village/town.

You get what you pay for, so if you want a basic clean place to stay that is in an okay location and has plenty of parking; then this will do. The rooms are small, the tv small and basic, and the bathroom is a little strange (think bathroom on a cruise ship and you get the idea). Staff are excellent, all very helpful. Overall it is worth the price paid, which isn’t much

Good hotel. The room was a reasonable size considering that this is a budget hotel, the ensuite toilet and shower are small but adequate. It is a bit out of town but fine if you have a car (probably public transport is available nearby, I did not check). They don't have a restaurant but you can buy a frozen meal from reception and heat it in a microwave if you like (continental breakfast can also be bought, I didn't try it).

Very helpful receptionist but room very small with the VERY MINIMUM of facilities. One kettle, 2 coffee cups and some tea/coffee/milk sachets and that was about it. Tiny TV very slow and only two channels (Ch2 and Ch7). Toilet light/fan very noisy. Loud water leak droplet sound ALL NIGHT as water leaked from the air conditioner from the unit above and dropped onto the for air conditioner for our room. The main room light is a 1 metre fluro fitted vertically on the wall at the end of the bed but without a cover, so strong light into eyes while trying to watch TV from the bed as the bed is basically the only place from which to watch the TV. The light should have been fitted to the ceiling. I spoke to the owner/manager in the morning to express my concerns and he said he would "see what I can do". When my wife and I returned from sight-seeing late afternoon we found nothing had been done about the problems. The receptionist told us the light was the same in every room and the water leak was a common problem for all rooms on the ground floor when it rained. We left the IBIS (Watson) with a 50% refund for our booked 3 day stay. Now in a very comfortable apartment for not much more expense. Look for 4 stars award but not much more expensive.

Good afternoon Bruce, Thank you so much for staying with us and for taking the time to provide us with your feedback - we really appreciate it. I am sorry to hear that your stay did not meet your expectations. We appreciate that you highlighted the issues with the light and the water noise and did investigate the matter during the course of the day and found that the water noise was a result of the rain rather than a leaking air conditioner above. The light fixtures in the hotel are standardized in all of our rooms and on investigation in your room I found that the plastic diffuser cover was around the lightbulb. I am sorry that these issues impacted your stay but will be taking your feedback on board for future renovations. On the plus side I am glad that you had a positive interaction with our Assistant Manager, Jeanie, I will ensure that your feedback is passed on to her - I know that she will appreciate it. Thank you again for your feedback and we do hope that you enjoyed the remainder of your time in Canberra. Kind regards, Matt Parkins General Manager

Hotel is an ok stay for a short trip. Stayed here with a work friend, and booked a king room with bunk. Both of us were little hesitant to climb up the ladder up, but both made do with the extra comfy king bed. However the bunk wasn't made up and the mattress appeared to be a lot shorter than the bed frame itself. Location was good, bout 15 mins drive to get to we were going, and is conveniently located next to petrol station. Room was quiet, and surprisingly not cold either, didn't need to put on the air con. Water in shower could've been a little hotter.
