Food was beautiful, hotel and location were beautiful. Shame about the staff, very rude and inconsiderate. More conceded about tips than making drinks, seems they would rather count that than serve people. No more of which restaurant to use for dinner or breakfast Asked to wait for a table for the sake of 5 mins when clearly there was more...

My family had a great couple of days at Slayley Hall. All the staff were brilliant . We ate in the 19th restaurant only because the times on offer for the other one did not suit us. Played golf on the Hunting course which is quite a track. A bit wet in places but otherwise enjoyable. Anyone looking for a...

Great location with some nice scenery. The staff were also really friendly. However the hotel needs a bit of a revamp. While the main section of the hotel has a great feel with the old fireplace etc, other section of the hotel feels outdated. The air con in our room didn't work properly and the window could not shut properly...

We were given room 244.....just opposite the spa. Wow! It was huge!! It did smell of damp slightly but nothing too bad and nothing felt damp. U had a wall thru dressing area / wardrobe into the bathroom with 2 showers. We headed straight to the spa to get info on out treatments. We got a list of what we...

Stayed here with friends as a surprise birthday weekend. The location and facilities are very good, especially the grounds, golf course and nearby countryside which we did a 12 mile circular walk around. The place was very busy on the Saturday evening which did put a strain on some facilities, especially the pool. The food was excellent, especially the breakfast...

Another stay at slaley hall but this time for my birthday celebrations. We have always had a high standard of service at every stay which makes us return 3 times a year, however this experience was spoilt on arrival in the 19th bar for lunch and celebratory drinks. There was no table service, which we have never experienced before at...

We have just returned from a night away staying at Slaley Hall in the lovely Northumbrian countryside. The deal was on a B&B basis but we also used the restaurant for our evening meal . We had the basic double room but it was large ,clean and well equipped with a large king size bed. The dining experience was positive...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Not 100, not 500 but 1000 acres of Northumberland moorland and forest play home to this magnificent, elegant Edwardian mansion. That the interiors are almost as dramatic as the exterior says it all. This is very old world grandeur with a modern twist. Bask in the warmth of the reception you receive on arrival, dine at Hadrian's Brasserie, or at the Duke's Grill. Indulge with a Vichy water spa treatment or just flop in the fantastic indoor pool. The great outdoors doesn’t get much greater. After a bracing country walk in the wilds, or round on our championship golf course, retire to the Claret Jug and the 19th Bar for a stiff brandy. Surely you deserve it ? ... more   less
