Just spent a long weekend enjoying a convivial stay at Laggan Hotel with friends.
The hotel has stunning views and is remarkably quiet. Sitting on the outdoor patio with a drink listening to the birds and watching the pheasants and hares playing in the field is such a superbly relaxing pleasure. That said the indoor lounge also provides the same views if the Scottish weather happens to take a turn for the worse. With the occasional bird of prey flying overhead who needs TV. That said our room had a large screen TV with an impressive selection of satellite channels.
The staff were welcoming from the off and Carly immediately put us at ease with any COVID issues as we were handed our key sterilised and within a plastic wrapping as an indication that things are not quite normal yet. The staff were always masked but it in no way distracted from the quiet efficient manner with which they all went about their roles.
Rory, Tom and Viviene (apologies for not getting any other staff names and hopefully the spellings are correct) went about their business serving at meal times and generally looking after the guests with a genuine charm and calmness belying the effort put in to ensure guests needs were taken care of: advice on activities, suggestions for visits or walks and a genuine desire to be as welcoming as possible but never intrusive.
They serve an impressive cooked breakfast with continental options to suit all tastes and we ate our evening meals there on all three nights with great choices that arrive beautifully cooked.
The rooms and general indoor decor was fresh, scrupulously clean and certainly our room afforded stunning views (I’m assured all rooms come with views). The exterior of the hotel seems to be kept to a high standard. There is also ample parking.
The water pressure for the showers is certainly not the best but then again with the remote location in The Highlands this is a common issue but it was more than serviceable.
There is a games room with a pool table and also a selection of books and some board games. Plenty of interesting artefacts and pictures are on display to pique your interest. Military memorabilia features heavily and whilst I’d certainly welcome more images and pictures of Scottish victories in battle the St Andrews Cross flag proudly flying outside reminds us what a beautiful country Scotland is and this hotel is a fine example of Scottish scenery and hospitality.
In conclusion a thoroughly enjoyable stay and highly recommend a visit.

Visited for 6 nights. The management and tram were all very friendly. The breakfast and dinner was fresh and tasty. Bar has local beers and whiskey to try which I liked. Able to avail of ‘dine out to help out’ was a bonus for dinner. The rooms were very clean and well laid out with suitable provision throughout the hotel to make one feel relaxed during these uncertain times. I was pleasantly surprised by the number of activities we could do within the area, quad bikes, (a must...suitable for all levels) walks and distillery were all nearby (dalwhinnie and daffy) We did day trips further afield to lough ness and balmoral. Call in advance to checks where’s open! Will be back.

The title says it all! A big shout out to Rory who was amazing from arranging a last minute room change I requested an hour before we arrived to waving us off after our 5 night stay, and everything in between.
The hotel is in a lovely quiet location that is a great base for this beautiful part of the country.
The hotel is lovely, clean and spacious, with indoor and outdoor seating areas. The rooms are spacious with tea & coffee facilities, hairdryer, soap and shampoo in the bathroom with lovely fluffy towels.
Breakfast was delicious with cooked food in any combination you asked for, cereal choice, fruits and yoghurts. Accommodating for our vegan Daughter was no problem
Carly and the team worked tirelessly to make our stay as comfortable as possible. If you stayed for 1 or 2 nights you wouldn't notice how few staff were working as a team to keep the hotel running during these crazy covid times.
Again thank you for the lovely big Birthday treats.

This hotel was excellent! Set in the countryside, with sheep on the hills outside, it was a peaceful retreat . The staff were very friendly and helpful and everywhere was immaculate. Our room was spotless and eveything was very covid safe, even our key was in a plastic bag on arrival. We had a delicious meal in the restaurant and an excellent breakfast the next morning. We would definitely return to this hotel.

Excellent service at check-in. Key was handed to us in a package and we were given free hand sanitizer. The room was clean and well-appointed and the view was lovely. The food at the restaurant was lovely - and dinner was cheap considering it was the only place to eat in the area. There was a good selection of drinks at the bar and a free pool table.

Staff were busy and seemed short staffed but all too willing to help and very apologetic if there was so much as a moments delay.

I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel!

Being the first time in Scotland we were very impressed by the quiet location and the beautiful surroundings. The staff is extremely welcoming and efficient. The dining room has an authentic tartan decor.
The food is very tasty, unpretentious, beautifully presented and served at the correct temperature. The service is swift, polite and engaging. The hotel is very well managed and tidy. Any request is accommodated with a feeling of genuine hospitality. This is an ideal place to rest and unwind.

We stayed at the Laggan for 7 nights using it as a base to explore the delights of the Highlands. It was in a great location, very quiet and peaceful but not too far from Cairngorm mountains, Loch Ness, Ben Nevin and surrounding areas. We did day trips to Isle of Skye and managed part of the NC500 (Durness to Ullapool via the scenic route which was breath taking). The staff at the Laggan were amazing and Rory, Tom and Vivian are a real asset to the hotel. It was clean and very COVID safe if this is a concern. We ate dinner 4 of the 7 nights and the menu was very varied and delicious. Breakfast choice included Scottish, continental, and selection of fresh fruits and yoghurt. The staff were always on hand to give advice on places to visit, and generally ensuring your stay is as best it could be. From a personal perspective I had the opportunity to taste local whisky with the help of Rory from the bar, and he helped me track down the local butcher they use to purchase some goodies to take home. All in all a fab place to visit for overnight or longer. Well done everyone.

I stayed at The Laggon Hotel for one night 17th April, breaking my journey south.
The hotel was absolutely wonderful, and I couldn’t fault my room ( Room 20) or the hospitality 😊
The hotel is furnished in the manner of a Scottish hunting lodge and very large windows enjoy truly spectacular view across unspoiled countryside and dramatic mountains. My stay was tranquil and totally relaxing. Manager Carley was welcoming, efficient and knowledgeable about local walks (which I enjoyed in the morning before I headed South). Breakfast was hearty and fresh and my cooked breakfast arrived quickly.
Beth and Bradley were especially welcoming too.
Overall, a great stay in a breathtakingly beautiful and peaceful location - I will make sure I return 👌😁

Hotel is set in breathtaking scenery, opportunity to see red deer, red squirrels, eagles just watching out the windows, we didn’t but you could even see a pine martin.
Hotel itself full of military memorabilia, fishing memorabilia and more. Bedroom was large, comfy huge bed with clean & pristine bathroom fittings, water supply is from a well so don’t expect a power shower but perfectly adequate for purpose.
The breakfast was outstanding quality and quantity with locally sourced produce and extensive choice. Evening meal excellent with good range of items.
Locally brewed beer on tap, fantastic range of gins and whisky.
Staff welcoming and friendly, atmosphere relaxed and cheerful. Thanks to Carly and team for a lovely weekend.

One of the best places I've ever stayed, the hotel views are beautiful, the stay are friendly, warm and have excellent customer service. The hotel accommodated our 20 month old son, two hairy huskies, as well as us. We felt exactly how a young family should when on a break, completely looked after, allowing us to relax and enjoy or time together. The food was as exceptional, as the staff, with food to accommodate even my sons dairy allergy and the staffs knowledge of the surrounding area was invaluable. We had such a great time. Thank you so much for all you guys did.

Coaches arrive during the summer months but the hotel is not booked solid in this time, therefor you are able to get a room in between coaches depending how long you wish to stay. Room prices may include breakfast - not absolutely sure on this.
