Travellers' Choice
ACCOMMODATION IN Newark The Beaumond Cross Inn is an old 18th Century coaching Inn situated at the Beaumond Cross Roads in the heart of Newark on Trent's town centre on the Great Northern Road (now the A1). It is easy to find by road and has a free car park for guests. It is a short walk from Newark's Castle train station, 10 minutes from Northgate station. We also have a compound to store bikes in for cyclists and 3 minutes from the bus station. This fabulous location makes us ideal for you use as a base to explore historic Newark. YOUR ROOM However you choose to spend your time in Newark, you’ll be able to enjoy a relaxing night’s sleep in our cosy and comfortable guest rooms. We have 7 rooms on the first floor and two beautiful rooms with original wooden beams cover the top floor. Due to the age and listing of the building, we’re sorry there is no lift access to any of the rooms in the Inn. Our rooms have recently been refurbished in September 2016. All our rooms are En-suite with a power shower. There is an iron, ironing board, hair dryer and fan in all rooms. Tea and coffee making facilities. Complimentary toiletries. All our linen is freshly pressed with fluffy white cotton towels. We try very hard to grant all requests for specific rooms, however please understand that at times we have a lot, therefore we cannot 100% guarantee requests. We welcome groups of all sizes, be it a family get-together, a reunion with friends or just a relaxing break with those you love. WAKE UP TO A TRADITIONAL BREAKFAST After a great night’s sleep, wake up to the aroma of a freshly cooked breakfast. Breakfasts here are renowned for their hearty portions, so whether you’re heading out to explore or you’re driving back home, you’re sure to be full until at least lunchtime! For those wanting something lighter we do omelettes and of course cereals, yogurts and eggs anyway you like. We look forward to seeing you

We didn’t actually stay, we went only for dinner. We sat outside, was slightly cold but the food was fantastic, the staff was very friendly and attentive, facilities were clean. I had the mushroom and stilton pie and my partner had the lamb shank, highly recommend either.

Excellent stay in a pristine room which had everything you could possibly require. Welcoming and knowledgeable staff, especially about the history of Newark. Evening meal was delicious, excellent choice on the menu. Attention to detail with the sauces and vegetables. Proper custard served too. Breakfasts were fantastic too and the choice was amazing. All dietary requirements are catered for. We will definitely be making a return trip!

Honestly the best meal out I have had in ages. While other restaurants are offering restricted menus, the choice here is fantastic. And all dietary requirements are catered for: gluten free, dairy free, vegan, vegetarian, fish, steak.... It's all there. Freshly cooked too with locally sourced ingredients. I can not recommend this place enough. Don't be put off but the facade - they are undertaking refurbishment and its a work in progress. It's super clean, social distancing is adhered to. Very safe. Fabulous place. I'll be back!

From the outside the place looks rundown but they are in the middle of refurbishment! Parking available at the rear is a bit tight but ample. Service was prompt and friendly. Food was wonderful, veg was all fresh and plentiful, roast potatoes were just that, not fried and the seasonal roast veg was lovely and lots of everything. We ordered desserts and the custard was proper fresh custard, if a little too sweet but it all went! Worth another visit for sure

It’s not easy to be in the hospitality business in these pandemic times. The folks at Beaumond Cross Inn obviously took a lot of time in preparation and precautions, and what they offer gives absolute confidence for guests. From the sanistrip on the loo to the well-packaged biscuits in the room, the staff had thought of everything to put guests at ease. These precautions also blend into the positive and hospitable guest experience, so they seem natural and seemless. We were made to feel at home. After touring the Civil War sights of Newark, we returned to a great meal and pint, and followed in the morning with a great breakfast. Family hotels like this need our support. Your expectations will also be exceeded.
