Just returned from a few days away. This is a lovely little site. Very quiet with easy access to lots of places of interest. We didn't use any of the on-site activities as our son is only two but they seem to have a good range. Our son just enjoyed playing in the woods and on the playgrounds. We didn't...

We had a lovely family break. Comfortable clean cabins. Plenty of parking space. Staff all friendly and helpful. We didn't use the pool area but used daily the sports facilities and enjoyed some family competitive fun with riffle shooting, crossbows and archery which was quite expensive but worth it we had such a great time and the staff were fantastic...

We had a lovely few days at this place. A cheap alternative to the Forest Holiday/Centre Parcs nearby. Amenities definitely aimed at younger children not older teenagers, but never the less we found plenty to do nearby. Rufford Park was lovely, and within walking distance and free. Perfect place to take a picnic on a nice day. One tip, don't...

Me and my partner came for few nights break. I wasn't expecting much for the price we paid for 4 nights and after seeing some of the reviews, however we were quite suprised. As long as you follow the directions they provide on your booking confirmation you shouldn't have any issues finding the place. The drive up to reception is...

Great place for a weekend away. A bit run down but overall a good cheap alternative to centre Parcs. Accommodation basic but ok bathroom had a bad damp smell but understandable I suppose in the forest. Pool a bit small but ok. Archery good value.

We booked several Lodges at Sherwood Castle for a large family weekend gathering, and it was ideal. It wa chosen as a fairly central location for those coming from London, Yorkshire, Warrington, Devon, Coventry and even Ireland! In all we had 6 lodges, some 6 and some 4 berth. Every one of them was spotlessly clean and well maintained and...

If you are looking for a hidden, cheap and quiet get away for two or want somewhere to introduce the kids to the outdoors then this is the place! Sherwood Castle...

We stayed in a Friar Tuck lodge for a long weekend break. There are a number of different lodges to choose from ours had been recently refurbished hence it was fresh clean roomy and well equipped, Wi FI would of been nice. All the lodges sit in small wooded area with Rufford Park just across the road for long walks...

What a fabulous place. We stayed this weekend in the Friar Tuck lodge. The facilities are great and there are so many activities for children to do. Our boys were in Seventh Heaven! The 2 men, Corey and Konor, who run the activities programme were amazing with our sons - gave them great instruction and were incredibly patient. The lodge...

We normally stay at Travelodge when we in the area (2 or 3 times a year) visiting family. This time we thought we'd try something different & opted for a Woodland Lodge on this site. Reviews we'd seen varied between 5 & 2 stars. Easy to find (but we know the area), simple check in. The Lodge, well couldn't fault...
