I had recently spent a night at Nongsa Village at the invitation of a friend. It was a 40 minutes taxi ride from Batam Center. This is a tranquil residential resort with chalet style houses on a spacious field by the beach, and some other villas built along a hill slope. Transport within the resort is by Golf buggies. I'd stayed at a double storey 3 bedroom Villa. It comes with a fully equipped kitchen, a covered outside terrace, a living room and 2 shower rooms. The property is quite old but very clean and well looked after. During my visit it was very quiet and I didn't see that many guests or residents. I had dinner at the nearby Nongsa Point Marina and breakfast at Turi Beach Resort. The resort itself provide transport to these two nearby hotels. I had a leisurely walk in the morning along the beach to watch the sunrise. It was so serene and tranquil. The only downside is the mosquitoes which are very irritating. I had a very relaxing stay at Nongsa Village. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Wifi worked well. This is a good place to spend quality time with yourself or family.…
The whole resort was extremely quiet over the Christmas holiday and occupancy was visibly low. The room itself has 3 bedrooms and was nice and spacious and well-equipped. It's definitely suitable for family or a group of friends traveling together. However, the resort has the worst Front Office staff we have the misfortune to meet. Service was non-existent and she was hell-bent on making our trip unpleasant. Our group exceeded the occupancy limit by 3 children but we were contented to make do with the amenities already provided in the room. We didn't need any extras and didn't request any from the resort. Even though the resort was nearly empty, the FO staff was prepared to turn us away but couldn't since we have already prepaid for the room. On the day of departure, we informed the FO that we'll require late checkout since our ferry was at 4pm. It was stated on our confirmation letter that late checkout is till 3pm. As my wife is a former hotelier, we can fully understand if the property is busy and late checkout couldn't be accorded. However, Nongsa Village is obviously running on low occupancy during our stay and the FO staff refused late checkout with the excuse that they need to turn over the room for incoming guests. She was obviously trying to be difficult. The rest of the resort staff were friendly and helpful, though. It's an ultimate shame that the FO staff had undone the good works of the rest of the staff. If you're looking for a quiet and simple get-away and can tolerate real bad service, Nongsa Village is the choice property for you.…
During my visit to Batam Island during mid Nov, I did a site visit to Nongsa village to see the prospects for promoting the same to my clients for long term stay. I feel it is ideal for people who want a peaceful resort undisturbed for long term holiday or stay for a month , a year or more that. I did see a couple of families living in properites. Again it is suited for people who what a peaceful long term stay with all facilities.
Nongsa Village is a really great place to unwind. Our family stayed in a very comfortable and spacious 3 bed house. We had 2 bathrooms with walk-in showers, air conditioning, WiFi, TV, well equipped kitchen, veranda and views through the trees to the sea. What really made it for us was the service. The Property Manager arranged everything we needed including taxis into Batam City, transport for us and luggage to Nongsa Point Ferry Terminal even sending someone out for a few essentials. Any member of staff we met walking through the village was always pleasant and polite. Nongsa Village is a quite place between Turi Beach Resort and Nongsa Point Hotel & Marina. All easily accessible by golf buggy or small resort car. We recommend this place very highly.
The villas are spacious and quiet. Not too many visitors as the houses are mostly privately owned. I was lucky enough to be visited my wild monkeys during my stay as they are not permanent residents of the property. There is no restaurant, beach activities or bar on the property, however you can visit the neighboring resorts for these amenities. The city center is far away from the resort so there is no close by cultural entertainment or activities.
