Stayed for 4 days here at DSB for a birthday trip, loved everything from the food to the junior suite room and to all the amenities. We looked forward to the goodie bites during turn down service every night. All the staff are so courteous and cheerful throughout the property. Buffet breakfast menu isn't repetitive, best crispy bacon and hot chocolate ever! Location feels isolated from the holiday crowd, providing that sense of privacy and safety. There was a wedding ongoing during our time there but it didn't impede on our stay. Staff can get overwhelmed during mealtimes, so sometimes we would have to wait or follow up to get water or utensils or our bill. Would recommend DSB as a splurge stay in Boracay when you don't want to feel crowded on during peak season.

Kudos to the following staff who made our stay here amazing:

Harry, Andy, and Ella of guest services
Cherry, Shecil, and Joemar of Sands Restaurant/Cafe
Bonnie of Housekeeping

Discovery shores was the perfect choice for my family’s Christmas stay. Included in your reservation is private transportation (boat and shuttle to the airport) and easy return travel through the choatic airport also coordinated by the hotel.

It is located on a perfect stretch of station one - white beach with plentiful beach set up. Upon arrival fresh bottled water and a variety of kids gifts (stuffed bear, reusable bag and sunscreen) were awaiting us with a giant stuffed bear to enjoy for the stay. The bear is the resort’s mascot. A foot wash is also available upon arrival.

We got a suite with a hot tub and the space was amazing with two bathrooms and a massive patio for hot tub or relaxing. There was also a bathroom upstairs and downstairs with staff setting up the couch as a bed for kids.

The welcome display was such a nice touch and staff were always available and friendly to accommodate any needs. This was honestly the best staff I encountered in all of the Philippines.

Breakfast buffet was plentiful and delicious with a special kids section. On Christmas night my family ordered the Filipino boodle fight which was amazing! I highly recommend it.

The only downsides were that the resort is on a hill and you may have to climb stairs depending on room location. Also during breakfast, seating was hard to find as it was very busy.

Overall I loved this resort and would absolutely recommend to other families.

Here you can really relax. Directly in front of the Discovery lies the White Beach, a dream beach. And here - in the far north - he is most beautiful. The service at the hotel was good, especially Francis at the bar always had an open ear for the wishes of his guests during happy hour - despite mega-stress. At breakfast, on the other hand, often overwhelmed. How often was the coffee machine "out of order". Sometimes water was missing. Sometimes the milk, sometimes the coffee, sometimes the little spoons to stir. Better to make sure that the only coffee machine works for so many guests. Also the toilet at the beach restaurant should be cleaned better and more often. The Free Hotel Shuttle is a good facility. But at lunchtime, usually hopelessly booked up. So you have to book an eTrike (usually for a slim 150 PHP each way). Prices at the resort's Italian restaurant are OK for the food, but the wines are quite overpriced. Then we preferred to go out to dine. The hotel wifi in the rooms works well, but at the beach restaurant usually not, so it is good if you have your own wifi solution. The staff at the resort are super friendly, everyone always has a friendly greeting for guests. Especially The beach boys at the pool and on the beach are unbelievably on Zack and immediately on hand with towels if you want to swim. They even clean your sunglasses and inflate your air mattress - perfect! Somewhat annoying was the gong at the lift. It is served by guests 24/7, which is quite unpleasant when your suite is right nearby, you always think it is fire alarm! Otherwise, apart from the gong, you can really relax in this modern, stylish resort!

We went after looking at many reviews of this resort. However, I don't seem to get when they rave so much about the place. I do agree that the staff is very friendly and helpful. The problem is that though the staff tries to be helpful they somehow do not understand when you are asking for no matter what language you ask it in. They just nod ok, then walk away.
We asked them to fix a clogged shower drain. They said on the phone they will send someone right away to fix it. Many hours later when we came back to shower, the drain was still clogged, and nobody came to fix the issue. Had to call again to have it fixed and finally someone showed up and fixed the issue.
We had friends with us from a different resort and had dinner at the restaurant on multiple nights. The first night we made sure to book a table for that night. When we came to get our table, we found that they had the tables set for another group and had no idea we made a reservation. They did make arrangement for putting another table together for us, but still how can this happen. And to further add to the insult the other people who booked the tables never showed up. Actually, one person showed and when the rest of this group was not there, they left without eating anything.
The next night while we walked our friends out of the resort we were stopped by some worker asking our room number. We gave it to him, and then this person asked how many of us were there? If we opened his eyes he could have easily counted all of us. I totally understand the need for security but once you give your room number and even are willing to show your room key why ask how many of us are there when its clearly visible the number of people there.
Housekeeping is a hit and miss. Most of the time towels are not white rather they are more gray color, and some are ripped at the edges.
On our last night the housekeeper decided to take my wife's makeup and toiletries and place it on some stand to make it look better and left a note that organizing your items would be nice.
I did call and speak to duty manager Pam at one point, and she promised to get back to me. To date I have heard nothing.
As I said many of the staff bend backwards for you but overall, it's not enough for us to come back.

We had a small family reunion on the west side of Boracay, a very nice hotel called Discovery Bay!!! Fantastic service the moment we got off the plane. They had staff out there, dealing with passports, making sure we used the comfort rooms (bathroom/toilets), they collected and tagged our luggage and bags with our room numbers. Had them loaded onto vans, and then transferred over to our boat and then brought up to our rooms!!! Front desk was helpful. They had a staff member take each member of a room personally and explained what and if needed anything just to call. Explained about shuttle rides.

Food for breakfast was a buffet style, very good and so many choices, had a kids section as well. There was coffee, tea, iced coffee, different juices each day, water and milk. The waiters and waitress were friendly, responsive and respectful. Great staff!!! Lunches were good, very good restaurant. We had a group lunch that they accommodate all 17 of us. We had dinner there and same, very attentive, great staff and just absolutely nice.

Francis was our bar tender and he is just fantastic. Friendly makes a great drink and very helpful

This is the second time I have been to Boracay and will come here whenever I have a chance. Great atmosphere and great people

We stayed in the Two Bedroom Premier suite. The room was huge and felt bigger with the 20+ foot ceiling in the living area. The resort provides “Still purified water” and Nespresso pods for the guests free of charge which was a nice touch. The resort also had some nice welcome surprises upon entering our room for the first time. I appreciated how the check-in process was done inside of the room with the attendant who also briefed us on the room amenities and answered all of the questions about the resort.

The food at the Sands restaurant was very good. No one in our party had any complaints about the quality of the food. The service was great and the staff was very attentive. The Sands restaurant also hosts the morning breakfast/brunch buffet. Being from the US, the food selection was great and it still felt like home, but it also had local choices if you wanted to explore a little bit.

The pool at Discovery Shores was perfect. It is not overly extravagant, but has a great atmosphere. The music is not too loud; and appeases to any age category. The pool staff are top notch! I dealt with “Jenil” almost exclusively. We spent the majority of our daytime after breakfast at the pool since we have a toddler who would have stayed in the pool overnight if she could. “Jenil” remembered my daughter’s name and made sure to say hi to her whenever he had the chance. He also brought out the pool toys and offered them to her when it was appropriate (never undermining other guests at the pool). He was genuine and I would not change a thing about his service.

The resort has a free shuttle to take you to any of the stations and all of the local “tuk tuk” taxis know where Discovery Shores is.

If you are thinking about staying in Boracay and want a more private/serene experience; stay at Discovery Shores. You will not regret it.

Upon arrival to the discovery shores hotel, we immediately felted welcomed and at ease as the staff coordinated a pick up from the airport and made sure we did not lift a finger and carry our belongings. The two fl suite we booked was very spacious for the party of 6 as well as the baby that was with us and they provided a small bed. My personal favorites that we used the most is the jacuzzi that could fit up to 4 people outside of our balcony which we enjoyed at night.

The breakfast buffet was really good with tons of food options (American, filipino, and I believe Korea food was available). Each day the pastries rotated so you got to try something new each day. Once you are done eating at the buffet the beach is at your footsteps to unwind and enjoy the long beach town strip.

Every employee at the beach starting with Gen and everyone else were nice with setting up your towels. My favorite part is the staff line up walking up to everyone to provide a refresher. 1st person sprayed your face with an Evian spray, 2nd person offered to clean your shades, 3rd person wet towel to clean your hands, 4th person offered a drink, and 5th person offered a dessert. Talk about a 10/10 experience.

Now, I did experience one issue with our room but I reached out to the front desk twice to address the issue which I will not share but we had a team of 5 people including Wildie the House keeping manager who was great to work with. After our issue was resolved swiftly and walking back to our room from the beach later that evening, Wildie was waiting for us by the beach and delivered food/drinks that was complimentary. I believe he understood our concerns and their was no reason for me to be rude to him as he offered alternative options to make sure our stay was pleasant. So thank you to Wildie, the housekeeping team, chefs, beach crew, and everyone for making our trip a memorable one.

I loved my time at the Discovery Shores and I will be visiting Station 1 again! Thank you!

PS. I really loved when we entered our room we had a giant size Bogart the Beach stuffed Bear that they had set up in our room.

The place is beautiful, serene, accessible to everything and kid-friendly. The staff are really nice and accommodating.
Check-in was smooth and quick. Upon arrival, housekeeping prepared some surprise treats in the room. There are toys for kids at the beachfront, so there's no need to bring your own. Even if it rains, you can still swim in the pool because the water is warm. The beach butlers are attentive, laying out the beach mat when you're at the beachfront, along with offering cold water and pandan-infused water. There are also morning and afternoon treats that are served around the pool and beachfront.

Very beautiful structure, especially with a crazy view during breakfast or lunch. Very welcoming and kind beach staff, Ernest, Jingl and Jenil made us feel at ease and pampered us with ice therapy, cleaning sunglasses, refreshing face spray, snacks and fresh water.
The breakfast was plentiful and varied, but I wanted a simple hot milk and they told me "we don't have any" 🤷🏻‍♀️

ROOM: we had a junior suite, unfortunately the rooms in front of us were being renovated so there were bricklayers working at all hours and if you are on holiday you certainly don't want to hear the noise of grinders, drills and other noisy tools. After a discussion our room was changed.

To go to station 2 you can go on foot with a nice walk but on the way back due to the tides you will have to go through the water. Or take a tuc tuc for 100 pesos

Discovery Boracay has a high sticker price, but definitely earns it back. The resort experience begins with complimentary transport from the airport - van to the port, a quick boat ride to the island, and another van to the resort proper. The staff is attentive and ready to help, and the rooms come pre-stocked with complimentary snacks and water for you to eat something and freshen up. Combined with the welcome drink and room orientation, the staff makes sure you're set up for your stay.

Discovery also helps you get the most out of your holiday. You can book trips through the hotel concierge, get a shuttle into town subject to availability, or enjoy the three-hour happy hour at the bar by the beach - to say nothing of dipping in the pool or at the beach, where the staff will happily provide you towels or point you to the recliners.

Once it's time to fly home (it'll feel sooner than you hoped), your trip back is also covered by the hotel.

By the way, they have a thing for teddy bears. If you think bears are cute, book this resort.
