My daughter, her husband, and I spent New Year's Eve in Sao Bento, and this pousada is one of the best I've seen anywhere in Sao Paulo state. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, colorful, and decorated with impeccable taste. I stayed at the Casarao with my (now) fiancé in May 2013, and was astonished with the level of local hospitality, professionalism and warmth from the moment we entered the doors.

This is a place where you make memories - whether you're by yourself gaining rest and clarity, showing someone special a true example of Brazilian hospitality, or a family to come together in a home-away-from-home. The staff and owners of this little but incredible hotel/chalet have nothing but passion for their craft, their land and their community. You won't leave without learning about the local climbs, hikes, restaurants or perhaps a thing or two about life.
Their commitment to quality extended to their food (breakfasts are out of this world!), decor (rooms are thoughtful and cozy), and if you're lucky - you might even grab a local mixirica in the right season.
If you're looking for true hospitality that is professional, homey and all-around top-quality without all the fuss - you've...

“No noise issues; the pousada is a single level and all rooms face the same direction--looking out onto the gardens.”
