Meditasi Bungalows is a relaxing place where the beautiful, private bamboo bungalows, and the delux suites, have dreamy balconies overlooking the beach. Each bungalow also has a lounge bed on the balcony, as well as an open air bathroom. If you want to relax even more you can book a yoga or meditation class daily from 5 pm to 6.30 pm. Also on the property is the Smiling Buddha Restaurant. It is a unique, organic Balinese restaurant overlooking the ocean. Here you can enjoy Balinese or international organic food, herbal drinks, or cocktails - so there is something for everyone. They offer cooking classes everyday at 11am. The Smiling Buddha is open 7.30am until late for breakfast, lunch and dinner. There is excellent snorkeling at the beach or a swimming pool to relax in and enjoy the peaceful sounds of the ocean. The owner, Wayan, also offers Balinese Tradition Healing. It was here that Elizabeth Gilbert, author of 'Eat, Pray, Love' came and spent her best times in Bali.

Meditasi, accommodations were just as described and the room is large and comfortable with beautiful views and large outdoor balcony with a day bed and beautiful views and sunrises.

The food was ok , as I was one of the few visitors here at this time and they have a few choices to choose from.

I like the property as a beautiful get away as I live in Ubud about 2.5 hours from Amed Beach.

AC was great and shower was good with plenty of hot water and the bed was very comfortable.

What I didn’t care for that no one previously has written or mentioned in a current review was loud music coming from somewhere at night. It was frustrating when trying to sleep.

There is no walkable beach and I like to take morning beach walks. It is all rocks with fishing boats on shored so no place here to walk.

Further barking dogs with packs of them roaming the property next door and barking loudly. I didn’t appreciate that with the beauty and solitude of the property.

Lastly the property is further north and more isolated from walking to other restaurants and or convenience stores. You would need to bring anything with you that you want unless you rent a motorbike while your here

All in all was a nice visit to Amed. Beautiful Place for getting away with stunning views

Finally the property is cash only with their pricing policy so you should know and recognize that prior to your arrival.

I stayed in the deluxe ocean view for 2 weeks & got 5 yoga classes for free (1 free yoga class for 3 days of stay). The place is far less crowded than Central Amed.
You can see the sunset from the balcony of the room & if the weather is good you can see the Lombok island too. The backside of the Bungalows is the beach & Coral Garden, a gorgeous place to snorkel.
The breakfast is delicious I recommend you to try the Balinese cake Laklak.

I stayed for 10 days in the deluxe luxury room. It is one of the most beautiful rooms I've have ever stayed in! It has the most amazing views, laying in bed you can see out to sea one side and the beautiful green mountains the other side. I slept with the curtains open so I could watch the sunrise from bed. It has a huge balcony with a day bed which was nice to lounge on with a cup of tea watching the ocean. It is a very quiet and peaceful place. If I didn't have plans else where I would have stayed longer. I enjoyed doing yoga there, ever 3 nights you stay you get one classes free which was great! The staff are all so lovely and can't do enough to help you. I can't wait to visit again someday, Thank you.

I took a cooking class here and it was fantastic! Very clean, organized, great instructor with perfect English. Made an amazing meal that I hot to eat. The restaurant Smiling Budha at the Meditasi Bungalows has all organic food and great options to choose from. The bungalows are outstanding quiet, clean, a place to totally relax. Only 20 minutes from town by scooter. If you want a quiet place on the sea this is it. Views from the bungalows are stunning. The owners are so friendly and will help you with anything. I will be back , favorite spot in Bali!

I have stayed in Meditasi for 3 days in end of November 2019 in a family room with a perfect sea view. Breakfast and nasi goreng are good. Once we went to Japanese shipwreck and on the way back my girlfriend accidentally dropped her brand new Iphone. But thanks to the staff and nice local people someone has brought the lost phone. I think it's owes much to the respect Mr. Wayan the owner has on the area. He was really nice and accommodating. Hope to visit this wonderful hotel once again.

I loved it so much because it was so peaceful. The staff was super friendly, bungalows spacious, beautiful swimming pool and yoga classes twice a day a huge perk for me. It felt like a retreat and I would come back any day. The snorkeling in front of the resort is also great.

You know when you stay in places the you don't want to tell people about... because they will go there and then it will be busy and it won't be the same. This is one of those places. And Meditasi only has a handful of rooms, so it will never be busy (yay) but it might be full!! But it's not fair not to share...

Meditasi is like what i imagine a stay in Bali would be like in the 70s. It is located in Aas (further along from Amed) in a lovely quiet fishing village. The staff were great, nothing was too much trouble. They were friendly and helpful and left you to enjoy your holiday.

The rooms are free standing, wooden, simple and lovely. Each one has it's own entrance and you enter into the stone open air bathroom. Our bathroom had a frangipani over the shower, which meant that there were frangipani flowers everywhere. And bougainvillea. Something quite special about showering under flowers! There is a stone staircase that leads into the room and there is a large bed (with mosquito net) and lots of cupboard space built into the wall. The room opens up onto a balcony with a day bed - and i mean opens up! There are these massive sliding doors which you can push to either side and let outside become inside. The view is spectacular - nothing but ocean! We stayed here when it was full moon and it was a real experience to get up in the early hours of the morning and watch all the fishing boats return to the shore.

There is also a large family room in the complex, which has two rooms and a big grass area out the front - which would be great for a family with young children.

There didn't seem to be anywhere else to eat in the area, which didn't matter because the restaurant was amazing!! The chef is Smiing Buddha's sister and she is gentle and lovely (also teaches the yoga) and cooks the best Balinese food in Bali. Seriously, i lived in Bali for a year and her food is amazing! I don't know what her nasi goreng or toasted sandwhiches are like - but her traditional balinese food is delicious. There is a full page of choices and for a vegetarian i was in heaven!

We found swimming a little tricky directly out the front - lots of rocks. But if you head off to the left (looking out at the ocean) and walk to the end of the beach we found swimming there just lovely. We didn't snorkel, having snorkelled in Amed in the past - which is great.

Thank you Smiling Buddha, the staff of Meditasi and the people of Aas. We had a superb 2 nights here.

This is not 5 star luxury, but it is 5 star beauty and tranquility and at about $40 nz a night for both of us including breakfast it is 5 star value.

We chose a cold water room. At 30 celcius who needs hot water. The Room was clean light airy and spacious. We are talking bamboo screen walls bare wooden floors, "outside" bathroom, mosquito netting (not a single insect the whole time we were there save ants) and the ceiling fan and sliding doors for climate control. A wonderful balcony and day bed.

Take a yoga lesson. Have a massage for about $9nz. Smile.

We had a beach front room with a lovely private frangipani scented lawn and garden below and a pristine ocean view. Great snorkelling some of the best Balinense food and health food we have yet found, cold Bintang available and Nothing but Nothing that had to be done.

Hearing the fishermen launch from the rocky bay right in front of the hut at 5 in the morning could have been annoying, but was in fact charming. This is the real deal.

Go for a walk at 6am and talk to the lovely locals & kids off to school.

Oh and if you are driving up do persuade your driver to take you around the coast on the way there or back. They will say the road is broken. It is narrow and winding and hilly, but it is spectacular too.

Go soon because we are telling everyone we know to go.

No photo will do it justice.

I am in and out of the Amed area often and decided to try Meditasi after eating at the fabulous restaurant.
There is an air of tranquility about this place - a good feeling and an eye for detail that is very comfortable, and in a meditative state (really). The flair via decor and music made me feel like i was at home - the perfect place to lounge and read - with the best view ever.

Being situated right on the sea - hours rolled by like the waves of the sea. My bungalow was all natural and VERY spacious, with a daybed with the perfect amount of pillows. The outdoor bathroom was expansive and overall the place is very clean.

Every need that came up - the staff and owner were quick to take care of. The smiling service was super with timing that was sometimes shocking - were they reading my mind?

This is a place that you go to, and come back to, again and again. And you will want to stay for more and more days - that was what I did.

The walkway to the rooms is magical - you will understand when you see for yourself.

Some of the rooms are a little different, with more of an old Bali feel. Also wonderful. The showers are cold water, but they were warm enough for me - heated by the sun during the day.

I now recommend this place to all my friends.

Hi Mirvis I don't know about the rental availability, but I do know the food there is very healthy and can cater to vegan needs. I also recommend a new organic vegetarian restaurant with bungalows on the opposite side down from Vienna beach in Bunatan.
