My boyfriend and I stayed here while visiting Somoto Canyon. The place was clean and they offered food right on site as well. It's a bit far from Somoto town, but Henry the owner picked us up from the bus station and ended up taking us back. Buses come along often and you can jump on those as well to...

We stayed one night, the night prior to our tour of the Somoto Canyon. The room was small and included a bed, nightstand, mirror, fan, mosquito net, and bedding with pillows; the bathrooms (2) were outside, like an outhouse, in addition to two sinks with mirrors. We didn't have any problems with bugs. It was June though so it was...

This is a review of the Soriano family accommodation rather than the tour, which was really good (though I wasn't quite as wowed by Somoto canyon as I expected). All of the family are really friendly and helpful, and the food is good if a bit repetitive (then again this is Nicaragua!). Would have been nice to know how much...

I had a great time at this little hostel at the mouth of Somoto. The family was very friendly and ours well organised. You had access to the kitchen and all facilities. It is basic living (drop toilet etc) but is a perfect experience for the region. The family was so helpful and had a lot of information about the...

Stayed here for 1 night, we had planned to stay 2 but accommodation was so ropey we moved out. The room was damp & smelly, the toilet is a hole in the ground in an out house that also was very smelly, there is no where to was your hands or brush your teeth. The family are nice and food...

I stayed here 1 night following a tour of the Somoto Canyon. I agree with the previous reviewer - the price does seem a bit steep for the facilities offered. On the other hand, it does offer a less rushed experience than being immediately taxied back to town. The family is friendly and the atmosphere peaceful. I have certainly experienced...

The family we stayed with is very friendly and helpful, but I felt the price of $15 US a night for a simple room in this area was a bit high considering the toilet is essentially an outhouse. It is also very far away from town, so you are pretty much stuck there. The food was good, but the property...

we stayed there for two nights it was pretty simple but sooo cheap and we felt really welcomed from the whole family. We booked the canyon trip there and it was so much fun. The two brothers know the canyon really well. It was an amazing trip. We had also dinner there which was very good.

We called to ask for information and the guide, Maudiel, was really interested in having us visit the canyon. We left Managua saturday morning and arrived at Somoto around noon. The house is located 2 kilometers away from rio Coco. The trip took about 4 hours and we stopped for a lot of photos along the way. Maudiel carried our...

It was so nice to be welcomed into the family at Hacienda Somoto. I was traveling with my daughter and we LOVED it. Having two of the sons be our guides in the canyon made us feel so comfortable as they knew the canyon really well and were in no hurry to get through the tour, stopping for lots of...
