Nice clean rooms, TV, fans, wifi, reasonably-priced and very nice staff. The breakfasts and coffee are good and there is a laundry service. There's a bar two doors down, opens at the weekends. No complaints.

The hotel is attractive, with a courtyard and places to sit and enjoy the beautiful view across the hills around Somoto. Staff were friendly and the room was fine - clean, comfortable bed, towels, TV and a good celing fan. (Vital in Nicaragua.) Out electric shower head didn´t work properly which meant no hot water and a slightly scary experience....

On our 3-week Central-America trip we live in different hotel classes and were mostly satisfied. Yet, this hotel was a really huge disappointment. Small rooms, without any luxus, ok, no problem. But the bed was very dirty and the towerls they had to change. On the bed there were blood sticks and dirty. They change it after a complaint but...

Just came back from my first visit to Somoto and had the opportunity to stay at this hotel. The rooms were clean, the breakfast was nice, and the metal work on the walls was creative and I felt like I was in a museum.

Fortunately I had to spend here just one night during a roundtrip and all of the other travelers were of the same opinion: we would never stay here again! The walls had like water stains, the furniture were old and run down. The bathroom was dirty and had lime stains everywhere, even the dental plaster cup! I killed two bugs...

Nice little hotel. Rooms are a bit small but place is clean and very friendly workers. This place has a nice bit of old Spanish decor and atmosphere. They have secure parking for motorcycles which was very nice. Will stay here again. Very close to border.

This was my first stay in a hotel in the country and it was booked for me by the local pastor. I was pleasantly surprised! The room was clean and tidy but didn't intend to spend much time in it. Breakfast topico was different each morning and the coffee good. Stayed on second floor and enjoyed meeting the guests. The...

Here are the reasons you should not stay here: -The room rates are much higher than other equally equipped rooms in any of Nicaragua's hotels. The price for a matrimonial bed with a fan was $46. The fan also did not function at high speeds without seeming as though it would fall from the ceiling, meaning that the heat was...

Hotel Portal del Angel is a basic hotel, with small rooms (one double and one single bed). Location is good, next to the center of Somoto. The owner knows a good guide for the Canyon. Don't expect too much luxery, for example breakfast is gallo pinto with coffee (they don't have tea). Rooms were fairly clean, although there were several...

Thank goodness we had only one night here. Rooms are painfully small. Shower did not work with wires coming out of shower head. Very dated and old hotel but I was told this was the best in Somoto. The breakfast was ok and they made us pancakes for a small charge. Towels felt like sandpaper and the room was as...
