My wife and I had an incredible vacation in Belize at the Lodge at Big Falls. We scheduled the trip in early June, 2015, which every tour book said was a bad idea, it being the start of the rainy season. It did rain some, but not enough to spoil our vacation and the rain helped cool us off. Estevan...

My husband and I stayed at The Lodge at Big Falls for three days and nights at the start of our honeymoon. Steven was an incredible guide who taught us so much about Belize. Our adventure to Monkey River where we met another guide named 'Rambo' is something we will never forget. Each day began with a tasty breakfast and...

Visited in June of 2015. Lots to do in the Punta Gordo area. Rob and his staff are not only professional, but a wonderful source of information for activities. Casual dining and drinks with an amazing menu was an unexpected bonus!

We stayed for 5 nights starting 10/17. 3 days were spent birding with Steven Choco. He is an outstanding guide. Excellent sensory skills - he heard birds we didn't even detect & was very good at calling them out. Very enthusiastic - he just kept on going. The lodge was great - staff was there for anything we needed. Wonderful...

Many thanks for taking the time to review your stay with us. We too are aware of what an asset Steven is as a birding guide and as you say his enthusiasm and his willingness to share his knowledge and experience is boundless. We look forward to welcoming you back again.

I am late in putting this review up, as I stayed at The Lodge at Big Falls in March 2014. I travelled there with my two children, age 11 and 4, and could not have asked for a better venue. I was interested in getting off the "beaten track" and exploring this rural part of Belize with them. While I...

We spent several days here in July 2015, and it was fabulous. Great location right on the Rio Grande River, a loopy river that you can kayak on for while awhile and not get too far away. The viid was excellent, its chocolate world in that area, and they do not disappoint. Great homemade chocolate ice cream chocolate bars, yum...

The Lodge is a delightful place to stay in wonderfully bucolic surroundings. The villas, though basic, are very comfortable and have decent bathrooms with plenty of hot water. The roof of my villa was built in a palapa style commonly found throughout Central America and the powerful ceiling fan ensured a pleasant nights sleep. The pool is nice too, though...

The Lodge at Big Falls sits alongside a river, which is great for a leisurely kayak trip. The food was good as was the hospitality. Our son's room developed a plumbing problem that resulted in both our rooms being changed, but there was no inconvenience. The casitas are great! We were able to explore the Punta Gorda area, including the...
