Arrived at the Cridford Inn and we were made to feel welcome immediately by the friendly staff. Such a warm and welcoming inn, very traditional and cosy. We stayed for 2 nights in the family room, the room was very spacious, very clean and we had everything we needed apart from only 2 towels for 3 of us, but as soon as we asked another was given straight away. Breakfast had to be pre ordered due to covid restrictions, but nothing was too much trouble. The food in general was of a high standard and very reasonably priced. The presentation was good and upon joining the VIP club we were also given a complimentary bottle of wine. My only complaint was having to shut the bar at 9.45 pm. Actually I shouldn't be telling you the truth or we won't be able to book a room after lockdown as they'll be fully booked. But yes, love love loved it and can't wait to visit again. Thank you so much Paul, Ness and staff for your hospitality. …
Real ales served in a handled glass (Witch Otter), historical artifacts, a roaring fire and nice food in a cosy old country pub - what more could you want? I thought the hospitality was first class and it was refreshing to see Paul, the owner, fascinated by the Cridford's ancient and interesting history. He showed us a suspected grave/tomb of someone unknown dating back to 1081 - incredible. We would love to return for all the above reasons - and for the free bottle of wine as we have now become VIP MEMBERS!
The Inn offers a very pleasant ambiance, excellent food and presentation, all at reasonable prices AND attentive service. What more could you ask? Nothing! I heartily recommend The Cridford Inn for lunch.
Beautiful olde Inn in a perfect location for exploring Dartmoor. Great food, friendly & welcoming. Good beer and nice rooms with modern on suite. I dont often return to places Ive previously stayed but this would be the exception.
Stayed here for the weekend using it as a base to explore some of Dartmoor. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The landlords and staff are very welcoming and friendly and made every effort to ensure our stay was a good one. They were able to recommend several walks and gave us print outs of the route details so that we could easily find our way. The room was clean and comfortable with all of the typical amenities. The cooked breakfasts were excellent and great cask ales at the bar (from local brewers). Would highly recommend to anyone visiting the area.
