The fisherman's basket was horrible half frozen seafood and there were so many chips they were nearly falling off the plate. The crumbed steak was mainly crumb and overcooked and the plate was totally covered in gravy and chips. The rum and beer were cold the lady that served us was rude

I sincerely apologise for your experience at the Carmila Hotel. I have spoken to the owner of the Quality St Cafe/Store/Kitchen and she was also very apologetic. We would hope that all our customers leave with a smile on their face, however this is obviously not so in your case. We do hope that you will give us a second...

My wife and I were driving north along the Bruce Highway and with dusk looming we were looking for somewhere to stay overnight. We were heading in the general direction of Gladstone but when we got there decided to drive on towards Rockhampton, a big city where we found ourselves stuck in traffic on the outskirts so decided to head...

We stopped on our way north and we were greeted by friendly staff, a very comfortable nights sleep and reasonable prices. The pub was also a really nice place to have a beer and chat to some locals. If I am passing I will not hesitate to go again!! Well worth a stay!

We needed food and some beers so we took a short walk from the campsite to the hotel pub. Never could we imagine that our evening was going to be so nice! We met the really nice owners and their son and another relative. A lot of laughs made the evening dissappear very quickly. Thank you from the two swedes.

Friendly staff, great people, 1st time back to the Carmila Hotel in 9 years, family friendly environment, staff that can't do enough to assist their patrons. Meals are outstanding. We look forward to visiting Karen, Ian, Nicky & Sam again. Mark & Nicole Avent

We stayed here on our way from Townsville to Brisbane as our overnight stop. It is an old style Aussie pub with friendly service and cheap rooms. If you want no frills, cold beer and a place to sleep then stop here. We don't regret it.
