We stayed in the 2 bedroom Acacia Cottage with lovely views and you can sit outside and watch the sunrise and sunset, it had a full kitchen, queen bed and bunks in the other bedroom, lounge and barbie under the verandah, so quiet and peaceful as sits on it's own. We also took to the 4wd tracks and lovely walks you can find on the property. Eveything is signposted and all camp sites have a loo. Kylie greeted us and was very friendly and helpful. A lovely place to be.

Excellent place to test out ones 4 x 4 skills, quite exhilarating testing our skills. Scenery is gorgeous, night stars awesome, weather was brilliant, it was our first time here and we will be back and thoroughly recommend. Staff are quite helpful with suggesting where to drive depending on your skills and also what vehicle you are driving. Reception is very limited even telstra
Bendleby is approx 48km from Orroroo and it is dirt road to travel, fairly good condition but can be testing towing a van, so slow and steady. Dogs are welcome and our boy certainly enjoyed his stay. Closest fuel is Orroroo so fill up and depending how long you r staying bring extra. We had a powered site for our van and the set up is awesome. Be aware there is no tap to attach a hose for water to your van. You can access water at the camp kitchen but it is non drinking, so bring your own for drinking and fill your tank in van for washing before arriving. The showers & toilet are basic but good and clean. Firewood is supplied, fire pits at the campsite, really its a great place to just get away from it all and soak up the peace and quite of the ranges

Thanks for your review Lisa! There is a hose at the Kiosk that you can fill your van tanks with (good quality bore water) so you can fill or re-fill when you are staying with us. Thanks for staying at Bendleby Ranges!

A few friends and I spent a weekend at Bendleby Ranges for some camping and 4wd adventures and the place didn’t disappoint on either account. The weather forecast was for high winds so the owners took this account and allocated us a secluded campsite along a creek with shelter from the prevailing wind, the site had a long drop dunny that was clean and surprisingly odour free. The fire wood we were supplied was sufficient however we were glad we brought a bit extra with us to keep the fire blazing well into the cold night so we could sit, sip port and tell some tall tales (why else do people go camping?).
The 4wd tracks certainly offered a few challenges and tricky sections without being overly dangerous or damaging to vehicles. My AT tyre equipped but otherwise stock as a rock PX3 ranger tackled every track with little concern and only a slightly wrinkled passenger side running board as proof it had been there. There were plenty of tracks offering steep ascents and descents and spectacular views to keep us amused for the whole day on Saturday before heading back to camp late in the afternoon for another night of fireside relaxing.
All and all this is a great destination, within easy reach of Adelaide, and will not disappoint with great tracks for all levels of experience from newbie drivers to battle hardened veterans.

We stayed 3 nights in our caravan, the camping area was perfect for us, we had power to our camp, and access to showers and toilets only a short walk away. The office is well stocked with groceries and drinks, we had plenty of wood for our fire over the 3 nights. Fantastic hosts, friendly and helpful, access to washing machine was very much appreciated too! The scenery is spectacular, and the tracks are a great way to see the country-side, there are a variety of tracks so don't be put off if you haven't got much experience or don't have a 4wd, there is something to suit!

We stayed 4 nights in the Crotta cottage. Awesome for large groups or Large families. There was 22 of us in total. 10 stayed in the house and the rest camped around the house in swags and Caravans. We had the whole property to ourselves so It’s very secluded. We could have music as loud as we wanted and could make as much noise without disturbing other campers. 4WD tracks were awesome. All ranges of difficulty so something for everyone. Fire pits and fire places were fabulous. Perfect for the cold nights. Ample supply of wood. The house was very comfortable. We all loved the old country feel and reminded us a lot of our childhood. 2 Bathrooms and an out house was ample for us all. The kids loved the stay. They found heaps to do without being on technology. Plenty of opportunities for bike rides and out door games. WIFI was available but not great. It was good enough to get messages and emails to the outside world and that was all that was needed. Charlie and Kylie were easily contactable when needed and all were extremely helpful. Would highly recommend this place if you looking or a great getaway to relax with family and friends. Expect to go home with a very dirty car😳

We stayed 2nights in one of there remote campsites and if privacy is what your after you cant get better than this, fantastic scenery with your own long drop toilet if needed, fire ring and they even supply the wood. We spent a day driving the property and absolutely loved it, tracks are clearly marked and well maintained with different tacks to suit all abilities.
Stunning sunset from the summit track to finish a great day.
Highly recommend and cant wait to return next year.

Spent 3 nights at this property hosted by Jane, Warren, Kylie and Charlie. Great folks, friendly and approachable. We were three families travelling with five teenagers And stayed at the Shearers Quarters main building which came with kitchen, A long dining room, bathroom, six bedrooms, shed, Verandah and courtyard at the Back with its own fire pit and another toilet block. There was washing machine and dryer too. Fire wood with fire starter were provided and on the first night we built a fire. The teenagers had plenty to do, going for walks etc and we didn’t see them until it was mealtime.
When the hot water service went out after a very windy day, Warren came and fixed it immediately, thank you!
We had everything we needed for a group holiday.
Phone and internet coverage - any service with Telstra 3G network e.g. ALDI, Telstra. ( not Optus)
Note: there’s no locks on any of the doors at the Shearers Quarters (except bathroom)

Our whole family spent 3 nights at Bendleby - 8 adults and 3 grandchildren. The oldies (my wife and I) stayed in Acacia Cottage (2 nights) and the Shearers' quarters (1 night) while our children and their partners camped with their children and 3 dogs at the Riverbend site.
We spent the days/early evening with them at the site and then drove to our comfortable beds while they slept in tents. Everyone had a ball. The site was spacious, clean and supplied with fire wood with a drop toilet nearby and showers a short drive away (they used ours anyway!) The grandchildren played for hours in the creekbed getting dirty, exploring and having fun. The adults took turns at 4- wheel driving the different tracks which provided some exhilarating experiences. Watching the sunset from a high point of the ranges was fantastic. Campfire meals under the stars were memorable. We also had some challenging walks to nearby hilltops. Both the shearers' quarters and Acacia Cottage were clean, comfortable and complete with all the facilities you need (plus air conditioning!) Kylie and Charlie are so helpful and obliging. Even offered to fix a puncture but it was beyond repair. For a holiday you won't forget head to Bendleby Ranges. A little tip though - when we drove the dirt road from Orroroo it was very rough (hence the puncture). Ask Kylie about the alternate route which keeps you on the highway until nearly Carrieton and then takes you through lovely country to meet up with the direct road from Orroroo. It's a little longer but worth it for us on our return journey to Adelaide.

What a fantastic place to stay! Our hosts Kylie and Charlie were so very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Everything was so clean and well maintained. If you love bush camping and enjoy or wish to experience country life this is the place for you. We had a fantastic family holiday enjoying remote camping, amazing views, 4WD, bush walking, bike riding, exploring the property and surrounding towns and ghost towns. Firewood was supplied and kept us cosy and warm under the open starlit skies, we did a lot of camp oven cooking too! The office was well stocked with everything from icecreams to alcohol, you’ve got to try the Beef Jerky which is made locally, yum. We are looking forward to staying again. Many thanks again from the Hartman family.
