Unfortunately we arrived quite late, so after being shown around by Patrick and being equippped with a map of nearby Chatellerault, we had to zoom off again to get some dinner. All went very smoothly - we went to the pizzeria recommended and had a good meal with friendly service. The rooms in the chateau are beautiful - spacious with...

We arrived hot and tired after long drive down from Cherboug along with half of France it seemed on the autoroute. But the chateau was peaceful, quiet and very cool. Fantastic room with a great view. Good meal in nearby Chatellerault in the evening (Hotel de Ville). Slept well and the breakfast was fantastic. Our hosts were very friendly and...

This is a beautiful chateau with so much history. We loved just sitting in the garden and watching the sun go down. All staff were very friendly and spoke good english, which was a bonus for us. They have a map in the foyer with all interesting places to visit which was really useful for us not knowing the area....

Stopped on our way South and initially were attracted by the value as much as anything. Patrick the 'le Patron' welcomed us as we drove up the drive, immediately made us feel comfortable in more than adequate English whilst showing us to our room. The room itself was very spacious and seeped in history, everything looking totally in place through...

We stayed one night on our way back from the Dordogne to Caen. We received a warm welcome from the owners and learned a little of the history of this beautiful chateau. It has been in the wife's family since it was built at the beginning of the 19C. We stayed in the Valentine room, the cheapest of the four...

We stayed for one night at Chateau de la Plante on the way from Calais to Bordeaux - found it on the Alistair Sawdays site. We had Valentin's room which was completely heavenly: stylishly and thoughtfully furnished, complete peace, comfy bed and view from the windows out onto the gardens. It was a real treat and very easy to get...

In August of this year we made a journey in the Loire Valley. We lived in Chateau de la Plante. The tower has been carefully restored, it has only 4 very cozy rooms in style of the old times. Lovely location. Our feelings when in the morning we opened the window of our room, overlooking the green garden could not...

We recently stayed at this delightful Chateau on bed and breakfast basis and were blown away by the location & the peacefulness of the place. The room was extemely spacious and decorated in period style with a large four poster bed. The ensuite bathroom was well appointed and there was plenty of hot water. Free wi fi was available. The...

This was the sweetest stay of our trip! The owners are kind and gracious and friendly! Their welcome was so warm and genuine. The chateau is really fun. It has an interesting history that the owners are happy to share with you and tell you about. Our room was clean and very pretty with a nice view of the garden....

Enchanting B&B in a remote country site. Difficult to find, but once found, absolutely what you would expect of an old world, private chateau in a farm land. We loved it. We had the entire chateau, as we had four families. It was a pity that we could only stay one day en route to Bordeaux. Otherwise, we would have...
