It is a spectacular setting, the bird life is tremendous, thanks to the efforts the owners have made in regenerating the Native Bush. The Ridge Top lodge has 360degree views so Sunrises and Sunsets are on. Well equipped and comfortable, we really enjoyed our stay. It is quite a drive from the main highway, but pretty well signposted

Super comfortable and beautiful setting. Very private and idyllic setting in the bush (we stayed in the Valley Retreat). Loved the fire as it was winter but the so cozy inside. We travel a lot and the bed here has to be one of the most comfortable I’ve ever slept in! The retreats are 15 minutes or so from Pt Lincoln, 10 mins from the airport - but they are true bush eco lodges with all the comforts you need. Pack the provisions and wine and sit back in comfort and enjoy the serenity of the bush.

If you like peace and quiet (as we do) then Tanonga is in a great spot. We stayed in the Valley Lodge, which has some really nice features: the bed was very comfortable with lovely views to the bush outside and the bathroom was large and modern with a fantastic shower. The log fire in the loungeroom was much appreciated as we found the Port Lincoln area cooler than we were expecting. There were a few areas, however, where we felt the lodge fell a little short of the "luxury" tag. The TVs are tiny, although it is good that there is one in the bedroom. There is no toaster, so toast can only be made the same way you make it when you're camping. The outdoor furniture is pretty flimsy and not comfortable. There is no Wi-Fi provided and phone reception could only be had by walking about 30m up the hill. Tea and coffee was provided but only 200 mL of milk for our four day stay. None of this would be a problem if the property wasn't so expensive, but for the money you expect better. Overall, we would recommend Tanonga and we enjoyed our stay - just don't expect real luxury.…

Thanks for your review and for choosing Tanonga. We are glad you enjoyed your stay. Just a reminder to prospective guests - we are environmentally friendly and off-grid (powered by solar with back-up genset) so some of the creature comforts have had to be modified accordingly, toasters, microwaves and large TVs being some of those features. We do have a separate gas grill which we recommend in our manual to use for toasting but have also supplied the camp toaster if guests would like to make the most of this fun option. Our lodges are remote and as such the Valley is out of mobile range - we advise our guests of this when they book and if looking for a wifi-mobile free break then choose the Valley. Otherwise the Ridge Lodge does have mobile access. Its great you enjoyed all other luxurious creature comforts - linen, furnishings, bathroom and that wonderful log fire set and ready to light - in the bush! Kangaroos on your doorstep! We stay on the property and enjoy meeting our guests if they like to pop in - we can replenish stock at the same time (no charge).

What a great spot and such a pleasant surprise. Its about a 15 min drive from Port Lincoln, and with only pictures to go by, you're not sure what will greet you. What a beautiful view greets you - amazing! Such a great property, really well appointed, and very luxurious feel. Great bathroom, bed with amazing floor to ceiling views, and a cosy lounge area. You simply must get there to enjoy the sunset and sunrise, it is truly spectacular. Surprisingly good mobile coverage too! Thanks for a great stay - really appreciated the well stocked fridge and provisions.. Beautiful property.

We hope you will visit us all on lower Eyre Peninsula again soon.

We stopped here for 1 night enroute to Coffin Bay as we liked the concept of a bush hideaway. The property was under maintained with bird dropping all around the outdoor spaces, dirty windows and an empty BBQ gas bottle. Despite this, we enjoyed our night although the absence of an indoor dining table was a disappointment. We did advise the owners of our concerns and they responded with an apology stating that they were well behind on their routine maintenance for a variety of family and weather reasons.

The many severe winter storms which hit SA (one of which caused a statewide blackout) put us well behind with our maintenance on the property. Both Lodges have since undergone full maintenance and upgrades in the last 6 weeks and have been well received by the many guests who stayed with us over the holiday period - very positive feedback received.

Stayed for two nights. Equiped with lovely fluffy towels and commodities. Comfortable bed very quiet serene spot. Only negative was lack of nice outdoor furniture. Could do with a layback chair or hammock. View from inside slightly restricted because of builing built to decrease fire risk. Highly recommend

We are currently staying here for 2 nights and we are amazed of how relaxing and beautiful this place is. We are staying at the Ridge lodge and the views from every angle in the lodge are magnificent. The weather is very wintery which makes the fire so cosy to have while listening to the wind and rain. All features of this property is outstanding. I especially love the Japanese style bath. To top things of my partner proposed the first night, this place will be very memorable for us!

Thankyou for the most relaxing night we have had in a long time! What a perfect place to recharge. We organised for dinner to be delivered and it didn't disappoint. Was everything we could have wanted. Absolutely delicious. It was so nice to sit by the fire with a glass of wine and enjoy the sensational view. Thanks Jill and Michael for the most amazing night. We didn't want to leave!

My partner and I spent 1 unforgettable night in the "Valley" Eco Lodge. As it was a spur of the moment decision to head south to find some cooler weather from our outback home which was enduring a heat wave. We packed a change of clothes, some pre dinner nibbles, ingredients for a lovely dinner and a couple of bottles of Flinders Ranges Shiraz. Once we settled in we went for a little nature walk in the Aussie bush and saw kangaroos and an abundance of bird life. Next we returned to the lodge and retracted the cafe style widows to set up our pre dinner nibbles on the bar looking out across this beautiful natural setting to watch multiple species of birds at play through the binos that were supplied. The fully equipped kitchen was a pleasure to use. The modern state of the art bathroom and bedroom with a feature floor to ceiling window were all part of this uniquely designed Eco villa. We will be better prepared on our next visit bringing our SLR cameras and tripods. A big thank you to our hosts for providing such a unique luxurious private getaway. Regards from Paul & Astrid, Quorn, Outback South Australia …

The design features of the Ridge lodge makes for a splendid retreat from which to explore the wonders around Port Lincoln. It is elegant and has everything you need to relax and be self contained. The Japanese bath was a real treat after a long day of bushwalking with views out over the country. The bed is way too comfortable with great views as well! Everything works and everything is clean and uncluttered. Jill and Michael were terrific hosts. Thank you - we'll be back.
