Booked 2 rooms for 3 adults and 2 children. Got rooms 26 and 28.
Pros: friendly and helpful staff. Rooms are large and very modern and is equipped with a large fridge, microwave, plenty of storage, TV (with YouTube), kitchen utensils and chinaware. Bathroom is very modern with useful dispensers for shampoo, conditioner and shower gel (very much appreciated!). Plenty of parking on-site and the rooms are located just 5 or 6 stairs away. Location is 10 minutes from Newcastle city centre, 40 mins to Nelson Bay and 40 minutes to Hunter Valley. 2 washing machines and dryers on-site
Only draw back is that there is no swimming pool, but with many beaches around, this is really a non-issue!
Really enjoyed our stay and will certainly visit again if given the opportunity.

Family stay in multiple rooms for a family gathering. The service was consistently helpful and welcoming. We all noted the newly refurbished carpet, crisp white linen, comfortable beds and distracting the kids with Netflix on large TVs. Their Room Service MENU was outstanding value and quality - highly recommend the big breakfast, fluffy buttermilk pancakes, generous dinner items. We'll be back! Keep up the great efforts!

I stayed in room 8, this room is small but usable clean and bed was very comfortable. Had a shower which was spacious the bathroom small but had everything you needed. Had a table with chairs inside with tea and coffee making facilities. Manager and staff friendly. They were accommodating as I was not going to check in until late so they left the light on and door unlocked for me with the key inside. I had the breakfast the next morning, which was good. For $15 I would include cereal and hot bacon and eggs with coffee. Good location, I found my room quiet as it was off the main road. Outdoor area lovely, with chairs and tables. I would highly recommend a stop over here, as close to Stockton Beach and ferry to Newcastle.

I recently stayed at the motel for 3 nights whilst visiting friends in nearby Stockton. On arrival we were told our room was one of a few that had been recently renovated. Room number 28 Well I opened the door and can honestly say I have stayed in 5 star hotels throughout Australia and some of those rooms were far inferior to our room here Everything was top quality and very clean The mood lighting above the bed was an added extra extra. Bathroom spot on and complementary water which was replaced daily In addition the care and attention from the Manager Gary was again spot on. Nothing too much trouble and good with good suggestions where to eat in Stockton. Very friendly which makes such a difference I would recommend this motel particularly if you can get one of the renovated rooms

Friendly staff from checkin to checkout. They were very accommodating for my husband who had a medical condition at the time. It's an older style, but the beds were comfy, everything clean, great hanging space, microwave came in handy with quick little meals for hungry little kids. Only negative i have is that the mozzies were BAD due to the changes in weather. We will definitely stay again if staying in the area. Not far to drive to different areas.

I have stayed many times at this motel and it never fails me. I have stayed in both the villas and the motel rooms, both were recentley upgrated and very comfortable. As a person with a lung condition and on oxygen cleanliness is of the highest importance for me. The rooms are very clean and spacious. I love that they offer meals dine in or room service, the menu is varied and the food is affordable. The staff are lovely and very helpful. The owners are very approachable. My disabled adult child was very unwell in hospital and I was offered kindess and support in my many requests for changing check out dates and offered a reduced rate. I highly recommend a stay at Fern Bay Motel.

Links motel Newcastle is an amazing place to stay. It has all the facilities you need and much more. The staff who own this place are so kind and helpful with anything you need and have requested. The rooms are very clean and so is the bbq area that you can use. Great to bring kids too as they have places for them to play and activities for them as well. I would highly recommend this place :)

This was a one night stop over. It was sufficient to what we needed. The man running the place was extremely helpful and so nice. Would come again just to see him. The room was better than I thought and was a nice size for my wife myself and two young kids. They have little bottles of fresh milk which they give for the coffee and tea but he gave a couple extra as my two little ones loved them. Also the biscotti are amazing.

It is always a pleasure to stay at this motel. Very comforatble room which has everything I need. Parking is right in front of the door, room is very clean and tidy and lot's of great spacious areas for little ones to run around. I have a chronic medical condition and require continuous oxygen. It is very important that I select a motel that can offer a high level of cleanliness and the Links is now my only choice for accommodation when visiting. John was amazing helping me to repack my car with the large and portable oxygen concentrators that I need to travel with now. Very friendly and respectful staff. Highly recommend !
