Just spent three nights at Banana Well and had a great time.
The hosts Julie and Mark are really nice and welcoming and nothing was too much trouble.
I was in a 2wd campervan so couldn’t drive it the 4km down to the creek to go so Mark drove me down and then picked me up a few hours later.
He also drove us out onto the mud flats to see the full moon.
They lit a fire and invited all the guests around where we sat and chatted over a few beers. I may have been lucky but there were a group of really friendly fellow campers and everyone was chatty and sociable.
They sell cold soft drinks and block ice and fishing bait at the sure too.
They also sell mosquito spray which you’ll need if you don’t bring your own as the sand flies are a bit bitey.

Another wonderful stay at one of the Dampier peninsula’s most underrated destinations. Banana Wells is rustic and simple, but clean, friendly and well managed. Jado the manager is fantastic and always willing to help and provide advice. We had a two night stay in a comfortable family cabin and enjoyed plentiful mud crabs and also took our tinny out into the bay for an incredible days fishing and dolphin watching.
Having a boat is definitely recommended but you can catch crabs and fish off the bank at the landing.. and the sunsets are unreal!

We loved our stay at Banana Well Getaway. Shane & Maria are welcoming hosts who host a campfire get together in the evening which was a lovely way to connect with other travellers. The sites are green & shady, the amenities are clean and there is a good camp kitchen. There are chickens & Guinea fowl wandering around & a nature walk. (Need to spray for a few mozzies & sandflies).

We had a great time at Banana Wells, definitely crabbing and fishing recreation in the creek as it has no beach so not fit for swimming.

We booked a cabin with adjoining twin rooms - number 6A. It was listed as 'twin rooms with shared verandah area'. We assumed this meant shared between the four of us. It was not clear at all that 'shared' meant with another room 6B which was literally sharing a wall. A family arrived to check into 6B and was unaware that we were all 8 of us sharing the common area which was certainly not sufficient space for strangers to be sharing (BBQ, Fridge, dining table, sink, campfire) Particularly four friends in their 30's and a family with two young children. We also had to give them a spare trundle bed out of our rooms as they only had space to sleep 3. It was quite awkward and we ended up isolating in our room playing cards out of courtesy so as not to 'take over' the common area. This should be disclosed by management and unfamiliar groups only placed together as a last resort.

If you stay here be cautious of the A and B and assume that you will have another group on top of you!

We booked for 3 nights but only stayed 2. Couldn’t wait to leave the place. Some call it rustic we call it totally old, run down and badly maintained. We paid for a powered site for $65 (rip-off) a night however we couldn’t use the air-con, toaster, kettle etc. We even got into trouble for leaving the water hooked up as they needed to put the sprinkler on? Walking the dog - in a dog friendly place - needed approval from the host before doing so..what? Host rather rude ………!

Stayed for 6 days and used as a base to explore Cape Leveque. The hosts were very friendly and were willing to assist in any way if required. Large area with clean and tidy facilities. Very quiet and peaceful and in a good location close to other attractions. Power and water made available. Highly recommend.

Beautiful location and well run camp. We loved our overnight visiit and wished we could have stayed longer. Managers Maria & Shane are wonderful, welcoming hosts who have created a special culture inviting visitors to join in at happy hour around the fire. We met wonderful people, including locals who provided great tips and information. A dip in the artesian pool a welcome end to a hot day. Highly recommended.

Our first stay at one of Dampier peninsula’s most underrated destinations Banana Wells. Whilst rustic and simple, the amenities are clean and everything is there that is needed. What sets this place apart is the friendly staff assisting you in any way with a smile. The place is well managed by Jado who is fantastic and always willing to help and provide advice. We camped there for 6 nights and enjoyed the atmosphere the place has to offer with the nightly campfire yarns amongst the travelers. By having a boat, we enjoyed mud crabs from the creek and also took our tinny out into the bay for an incredible day's fishing and chasing Pelagic.
Having a boat is definitely recommended but you can catch crabs and fish off the bank at the landing... and the sunsets are unreal!

Spent a few nights at Banana Wells and the only negative was the mosquitos which you can rectify with repellent. The caravan park facilities are basic but kept spotlessly clean . The staff especially Eddie were super friendly and informative and the stay was very relaxing. Highly recommended if you wont a different kind of stay.

Great secluded camping with hot showers, clean camp kitchen, and the team (Mark, Julie and Jelanna) are very welcoming. Nothing is too much trouble. They bring everyone together and that makes for a fun experience. Enjoyable communal fire on Saturday night. We got to know many of our fellow campers and had a great time together. We had a fabulous five nights. Highly recommended.
