We were able to secure a last minute booking on a very busy week - the management were super helpful and very accomodating.

The park is a ‘Classic’ big 4 park - meaning old and quite outdated with none of the fancy Big 4 treats for the family such as go-karts, large adventure pool with slides, big kids playground… It’s still the price of a updated and fancy Big 4 so bit of a disappointment for our kids when we arrived.

The cabin was basic but equipped with enough for an enjoyable stay. No toiletries provided other than soaps. Floor was dusty and needed to sweep out before we even began our stay. Otherwise bathroom and kitchen were clean and beds were comfy and with good quality bed linen.

The resort has a one way traffic system that isn’t well signed, management could do with signing it better or remarking the road as arrows have faded.

Staying here overnight on our way north. Small park, but quiet and peaceful. We were given a beautiful private spot for our motor home with lush palms all around where we sit outside. But the showers … OMG ! The best showers we’ve had in the 2 weeks we’ve been away. We’ve stayed in much larger places with amazing pools, swim up bars and lovely clean facilities. These shower rooms have a bench to put your clothes and things on .. totally seperate from the shower so you don’t have to do a crazy dance to dry and dress yourself on a wet floor like most other places. The shower itself was hot and very strong and just perfect ! I’d kill to have this water pressure in my own bathrooms. Not the flashiest place we’ve stayed, but certainly right up there in the top 3 so far. From the call to book in and then arriving, the staff are friendly and informative. Would definitely come back here and highly recommend.

Very happy we stayed here. We had a cabin for a week. Prices where very reasonable and the cabin was very clean and had everything we needed. The park is in a great quiet safe location and the kids enjoyed the new pool. The little pool is a heated magnesium pool and felt great! We will be back for sure!

Please clean your cabins. We took our first step inside the cabin and felt nothing but sand and grit all over our feet. Ok, so then I thought I'd sweep it out, its not the end of the world! There's a broom, but no dustpan.
What we found on the floor in our "clean" cabin was nothing short of gross. The window sills are disgusting, the window screens full of fluff and crud. Behind doors in the bathroom is disgusting.
We booked as 4 so you would assume that there was suitable utensils and food prep equipment to offer 4 people. It was hard. Most of it was not displayed in a suitable cupboard, but strewn out throughout. Everything was dirty, so we chose either to not use it or washed it thoroughly beforehand.
When holidaying we will often eat out, but we chose the cabin to be able to prepare the occasional meal.
It was hard work, much harder then it should have been.
My suggestion is make a list of cutlery and kitchen utensils/equipment have it displayed. If stolen/removed charge people, but at least give a family of four some suitable clean equipment to prepare with.
Ensure that everything is clean, then you would also know if things are broken. Which is also the case in this cabin.
Being an older cabin does not mean it cannot be a highly functional and clean cabin. We paid just under $200 per night. We consistently use Big 4 as there is usually a standard that we can be guaranteed.
We feel ripped off and our experience has successfully ruined our entire time away.

Booked an ensuite cabin, the photos on the website showed a small sofa and small dining table with 2 dining chairs, we got a kitchen with a small table and 4 dining chairs - no sofa , two bunk beds, the bedroom showed a light on each bedside table – no lights, it seemed the manager had given us a 1 bed cabin – no explanation why.
The bed was comfortable and bed linen spotless. The ensuite had no hand towel and no face cloths were provided. The bottom of the shower door was filthy, don’t think it had been cleaned for years, the sink in the ensuite was so small it was barely wide enough to put your hands in, there was nowhere to put toiletries so had to put them on the toilet seat. The ensuite window could not be closed and locked.
The television in the bedroom was not working, when switched on it showed what appeared to be “FOTO” not sure which language it was, tried to go to settings and select English but no English setting was available and it was impossible to get any TV station. As we had cleaned the whole cabin because of the Covid-19 we did not advise the manager as we didn’t want workmen coming in.
The doors and windows were dirty. It appeared that the managers were the only staff and contact with them was by ringing the door bell at the office, neither of them were friendly..
Do not go by the photos on the website the park looks nothing like them.
I expected more from Big 4, this is why we went with them, this park needs a complete upgrade – it looks more like a rundown Council park.
We left a day early even though we had already paid for the last night.

We stayed Here three nights.
On arrival very good and the lady at the desk very nice and helpful.

The pool, BBQ and play area are lovely
Even the plastic plants look great.

The cabin we felt for us was uncomfortable, if your tired just passing through one night it gives you want you want a bed and shower.
There is no tiny sofa to rest your back after a long drive just a small kitchen table and 4 chairs.

On arrival my husband had to sweep the floor it had sand and dirt all through the cabin, the cleaner apparently hadn't done it or if so a very poor job.
The power point switch was chipped in the kitchen and a spark came out at one stage, my husband commented as he used it.
The fridge freezer was covered thick of about a inch of ice and paddle pops melted.

The toilet seat never fitted properly and looked silly most of all uncomfortable.

The shower is absolutely awesome nice and hot and plenty of water however there is no shampoo or conditioner left for the guests so take your own only soap is provided.
No shower floor mate so we used our hand towel so we wouldn't slip getting out of the shower.

The cabin had been re painted/re sprayed on the outside even all over the outside light straight over the top so when you got back at night you couldn't see when you left the outside light on even the number of the cabin had been sprayed over and the plants in the garden at the cabin.

The double bed was comfortable but the bottom bunk was uncomfortable and the mattress after one night dipped.
The remote in the bedroom had a hole 3 inches long at the side of it.

It's as if the cabin we stayed in had been maintained as cheap as possible OR not maintained at all but repainted to look tidy.

I thought for the price we paid, same as a motel for the cabin, we would get what a motel provids as in Shampoo, conditioner and shower gel but I was wrong.

I took photos of everything of above but out of respect I have not included them in my review.

This was the first time we stayed at a Big4 I was very excited but what a let down.

Still I will give another Big4 a go but just not this one.

We are avid travellers and have stayed at many Bi4 parks and actually seek the brand because of the associated quality.

Our stay at this park was nothing short of disappointing. So much so we have left 3 days early.

The park is rundown and does not equate to the standard we expect with the brand.

One shower block with 6 showers in total for the park. The shower block were beyond tired. In fact these were of a standard that I would expect to find in an isolated location.

The shower blocks were filthy. We saw a cleaner once during our stay. The hand soap in the men’s bathroom was empty the entire time we stayed.

The floor in the women’s bathroom were filthy and toilet paper shreds were in the same place for days.

The cisterns were damaged and some of the flusher buttons in need of repair.

The pool was small and overcrowded.

The bin in the camp kitchen was extremely full this morning at 0800. Obviously not emptied yesterday afternoon.

We have moved on and have left the region. This is disappointing for local tourism and for us.

I would suggest that if big 4 places their label on a park than perhaps the park be of the standards which is usually linked to the brand.

We had high hopes being a Big 4 group member. We had a nice quiet area, which was big enough for what we needed. The camp kitchen was ok. We used the facilities however nothing was clean.
The toilet and shower facilities were dirty. Not cleaned once during the 3 day stay we had there.
There was toilet paper down by the toilet, water and hair over the floor. I took my own domestos and sprayed that around before touching or using any of the facilities.
The cleaner walked into the facility -
Pretended to clean it and when I went to use them they were absolutely filthy. I actually
Chose not to shower and await home. We left 2 days early - preferred not to stay on. The games room was out dated, yet provided the kids with an experience of Pac-Man which would have to be the highlight: the pool
Had flaking paint.
All
In all we wouldn’t go back and it turned us off travelling to the region again. Which is a shame as we liked it to start with.

While the facilities were clean they were extremely basic. We booked to stay a week over Christmas and ended up leaving 3 days early because the accommodation wasn’t comfortable. We have stayed in basic accommodation before but felt that this was extremely overpriced for a one room cabin with uncomfortable beds and damaged furniture. The Pool was lovely but the childrens activity room was poorly kept with a tv and a ping pong table with no balls to play with. The air conditioner in the cabin hardly worked. Very disappointed after paying such exorbitant prices.

I booked a cabin in this park for 11 nights and would definitely stay again and recommend to anyone travelling to Hervey Bay.

Paul, Jacinta and the team were great to deal with and very knowledgeable about the local area. The park was in great condition including the amenities. Lovely swimming pool.

It is also just minutes away from one of Hervey Bay’s two major boat ramps and a short stroll to the beach.
